Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

I want to keep up with the coverage, but part of the thrill of playing my first Pokemon game was the feeling of venturing into the unknown. Of course, I love planning a team in advance to satisfy my nerdy streak (which should probably be satisfied by the fact I'm playing Pokemon), but I found it difficult to recapture that thrill with Black and White. Imagine seeing Bisharp for the first time. It was like when I first saw Cynthia's Garchomp in D/P/P - I just thought "I. Have. To have that."

Rin-chan's right. The only reason Gen 1 and two remakes was because the graphics were garbage then. Gen three might get a remake later when graphics have improved more (maybe not too far off given the apparent quality of X and Y) but so far I don't see them making it for a while.

What the hell?

They got remakes because of a lack of backward compatibility, not graphics. If graphics were a factor, it wasn't the main one in any way.

Gen 3 remakes aren't needed necessarily, but it'd honestly be stupid not to considering how they're guaranteed lots and lots of more money if they do judging by the amounts of want on the Internet.

Pokemon X and Y alone will boost the 3DS sales through the roof, a chance to play a new take on Ruby and Sapphire would pull in older fans who weren't so sure about buying that 3DS.

Agree, you get a "like" for that. I don't see any reason why not to, they did for both the 1st and 2nd why not just make it a thing already?

As much as I want RSE remakes, and that they'd boost sales of the 3DS just as much (maybe moreso) as X and Y, having played the original RSE, I personally wouldn't mind if they didn't get remakes even though I think they'd look good with the graphics used for X and Y. Although if they did get remakes, I think it would be in this Gen for the 3DS because thinking about it the previous remakes were on the previous gen handhelds, so it would make sense. (FRLG = GBA, HGSS = DS, RSE = 3DS?)

We've gone from the actual topic now to remakes. (I'd love a XD/Colo sequel)

I'm not surprised with the lack of discussion for X and Y.

Something OT, something OT…

I would love for more Legendaries to just be accessible, considering Black and White were horrendous with that. But I guess it has always been like that (starting with Mew), and money, money, money and all that.

A main series game on a home console is about as likely as Square-Enix remaking Final Fantasy VI or releasing Live a Live outside of Japan.

Because VII already happened and Enix seems to have forgotten almost all about that game.
