Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

Which type they belong to isn't confirmed and is mere speculation. Just the triangle is confirmed.

With what we have now, Froakie seems to be Dark and Chespin seems to be going the Fighting route. Braixen's design pretty much confirms she's Psychic.

For anyone who didn't see it: Please put all new info and leaks in spoilers. We have reached the time where leaks will become much, much more frequent whether they're fake or not.

Come Oct. 4th, be very wary of what you see and what you share. Unless it is a legit screenshot and/or comes from a very reliable source (Pokebeach, Serebii, etc), do not post or believe any final starter information.

Also, the games come out on October 11th in Spain. The 12th is a national holiday for them and so they get the game a day early. If you do not wish to know any plot like myself, or know anymore Pokemon in the games, I would stay away from any and all sites that hold Pokemon information on that day. However, this does not mean you cannot share this information. But please, for our sake, put in spoilers and just say XY Leak/Spoiler(s) Plot/New Pokemon. Do specify cause some of us may want to know everything, just new Pokemon, or just new plot. Like, I would be fine seeing new Pokemon but I want to know 0 plot. Want the story to be fresh.

Thanks in advance guys. [:

Chespin as a Grass/Dark is cool. That typing works VERY well for Shiftry and Cacturne. Plus, thanks to the Steel nerf, it goes UNRESISTED~

And I really love that they're actually likely going with the Dark/Fighting/Psychic thing. Before gen VI was heard of, I hoped that they do this and hoped for Fire/Dark, Water/Psychic, and Grass/Fighting, but I like this just as much.

PLUS FROGUE I CAN'T WAIT I MUST THINK OF A NAME NAO~
"I work for a magazine in the UK and got sent an email a couple of weeks ago with apparent Pokemon X & Y 'facts'. The writer says they are from a European marketing team (did not mention which one).

I don't really think they are true, however a couple of things were right. Posting on here to see whether any had been already confirmed as true or fakes.

I'll post the few kinda 'confirmed' ones, they way they were written is not concrete which is why I doubted the rest are completely true, but at least maybe they are fun rumours to share.

 • Two tv spots will be launched prior to release each with a new pokemon briefly shown to gain hype. A new normal-type unevolved pokemon (the grey one in the new uk trailer?) and a new poison-type pokemon with no evolutionary line.

 • Three new evolutions of Gen VI pokemon will be released on the official facebook page prior to launch. (Doublade just released I guess?)

 • The new Starter evolutions will be released. But no final evolutions until the week leading to the 12th October. (Well true so far)

 • Mewtwo will have two forms, one for each game version. The second will not be announced until later on for fans to get used to the idea of mega evolutions. (This is one of the main things that made me post)

And the rest:

 • Rhyhorn will be first pokemon you get to ride in-game. You cannot ride Rhydon. The pokemon you ride in-game are not available for battles. (Guessing this means they act like the bike?)

 • Main professor in the game will be female, with male professor (I'm guessing Sycamore?) as main plot driver.

 • Pokemon from all previous generations will be able to be caught in-game, making it easier to complete pokedex without having to trade or use pokemon bank service. Re-emergance of 'Gotta Catch 'Em All" to regain Gen 1 fanbase.

 • Harder to catch specific pokemon as more will be available in each route. Percentage of each pokemon appearing is lower.

 • All starter pokemon will get mega evolutions and one from each generation will be obtainable throughout the game as part of male professor's research.

 • Not all legendaries are getting mega evolutions. There is no mega evolution for Mew, Cresselia and Genesect. They are confirmed to not have any.

 • No Gen VI pokemon will get mega evolutions.

And this was apparently to help me?...

 • The European names of new pokemon are not sent to the marketing team until 3 days prior to announce, to reduce leaks. This means any names currently 'leaked' are fake unless revealed within the week.
Seems kinda legit. Time will tell however.

Well, given the (assumed) typings if the fully evolved starters, Fennekin will be the S.Atk expert, Chespin will be the wall & Froakie will be the physical beater.

*sighs* I hate physical water types, they are so inferior to special ones unless they have a decent second type.

If Froakie ends up Water/Fighting he could be an excellent attacker with Waterfall and Close Combat.

But they are generally worse, not being able to use cool moves like Ice Beam and smokin' hot moves like Scald.

your puns are oh so hilarious.

physical water types can work........if they have a nice dual type. xD

Dark AND fighting would BOTH complement Water

Close Combat would help, but Waterfall is inferior to moves like Surf and Hydro Pump really. Besides, does having a physical utility really justify losing better use over moves like Ice Beam? It's why Starmie was good, as it had two good special types.

Water/Fighting feels like such a case of opposites.

If I understand this how it's currently written, then that batch of leaks is most definitely false, or at least this one is. It's been confirmed that no Kalos Pokémon will get a Mega Evolution this generation. From Serebii:

Edit @ 13:42: According to an interview on Polygon, it has been stated that no Kalos Pokémon will have a Mega Evolution within Pokémon X & Y.
