Everyone's jumping on the hate train without even realizing what its based on...

And it has No Guard. This thing is awesomesauce.

See, I was going to hate it, but then I remembered Magneton and Dugtrio, and the fact that this means I get two ghost swords for the price of one. That image though? Holy God, that makes it even better.

??????????????

Aside from that, I actually like how Honedge evolved into more of a coat-of-arms. Plus, I like the fact it actually DID evolve, which means it won't just be a 1-off Pokemon, but something that can get stronger in-game as well. Also it had No Guard even before it evolved.

It goes in line with my theory that they were trying to nerf Nuzlockes in gen V.

I feel like they disapprove of Nuzlockes because it goes against the original idea of the game, so they're trying to make then much easier, unlike Platinum.

This just means people will add new restrictions to Nuzlockes, but still feels like an attempt to make them too easy to be worth doing.

No, you're missing the point Eury was trying to make. Klinklang and Vanilluxe are symptomatic of the thought process behind these designs, yes, but Mangeton and Dugtrio show that these designs people get all up in arms about have been a thing since Generation 1, which a lot of people act like is completely perfect and wonderful and everything after it simply wasn't as good. And just in case you're going to cite Garbodor, I invite you to have a chat with Muk. Or better yet, let me introduce you to a friend of mine.

Arm was just citing further examples of such, I thought, especially because people hated those designs but were the same archetype of design.

Personally I like Garbodor more than Muk because it's actually a garbage bear, rather than a pile of sludge, but to each their own.

Point I was making is that Doublade is much, MUCH more than just 2 Honedge. They designed him with a Coat of Arms in mind, and all everyone was seeing was 2 Honedge.

It was bothering me with people saying "Its just another Magneton or Dugtrio" when its not. He has his own unique design and people are hating on it for that. :l

I thought of it growing a second eye, but its design is more unique and elaborate than Magneton or Dugtrio, with the little shield at the back making it look more like a coat of arms like you said. Sorry with my whole "Should've gone with shield and sword" act; the design is more creative than that. I just think people just expect more of the later generations after red when it comes with designs.

It's okay, I didn't think there was much to do after Honedge, so Doublade actually impresses me.

As far as "Combination Pokemon" go(Dugtrio, Magneton, etc) go-
It's only really Dugtrio you can't really explain. I mean, at least with Magneton, it makes sense because they are magnets and everything; They magnetically stick to each other.

Doublade isn't just 2 Honedge, as the shield behind it serves as being part of the concept of it turning into a coat of arms.
Also, I'm calling it now, that it learns one of these moves:
