If one looks at the new trailer, they can see that, from 2:49 to 2:52, the trainer customization is being shown, though nowhere does the game indicate how many tops there are in the inventory.

The gauge itself is 9.2 centimeters and the indicator is 0.5 centimeters. When the player moves down a space, the indicator moves 0.3 centimeters down the gauge. Putting the indicator at the top allows 8.7 centimeters of the gauge to be spaces for more tops, while also counting as "Top #1." The remaining 8.7 centimeters divided by the 0.3 change every movement means there are 29 other tops that can be selected. In addition to the first, there will be a minimum of thirty different tops per sex, and if the other categories are even half as abundant, there could be at least 30754687500 unique looks, including skin color and sex.

Three billion sounds like a stretch. They're only just including character customization for the first time, I'm not sure they'd make it quite so expansive from the very beginning.

Given the thirty tops, these are realistic variables. Unless tops are overwhelmingly numerous compared to the other categories and the others ones only have about five selections per division, being in the billions makes complete sense. Rather, I would be shocked if 30*10^7*3*2 DIDN'T reach into the billions. Or have you never seen how rapidly exponents increase. That is to say there is a reason the word "exponent" is similar to "exponential."

And assuming there are only TEN selections per category instead of fifteen, it is ultimately 1.8 billion potential appearances, anyway.

Here's a thought~
What if the character customization is similar to the one in Wc09, 10, and 11?
You know, you pick a shit/suit/whatever, and then pick what color it is based on color sliders n' junk.

Also, with regards to Mewtwo-
What if his Mega Stone is the same for both games, but the end result itself depends on the game, not the stone O,o

The trailer shows different colors for the same costumes being different pieces of clothing.

Why was Pikachu the only one who sounds like he did in the anime?

Probably as a throwback to Pokemon Yellow more than anything. Otherwise all the other Pokemon would sound like they did in the anime.

...

I'm indifferent about the large amount of customization as a whole, but being able to choose your skin colour? Sweet! I'm goin' round as a black guy!

At first I expected the Kanto starter get would be a post-game thing, like after winning the league or completing the national dex. But the thing is too publicized to be that. And now that I think about it, how will they make Mewtwo obtainable during the story? Maybe you'll have to face it in some Flare hideout.

According to an interview on Polygon, it has been stated that no Kalos Pokémon will have a Mega Evolution within Pokémon X & Y.

Oh and Aurorus has a move called Freeze Dry, which is an Ice-type move which freezes the opponent but is said to be super effective against Water-type Pokémon.

To add, Pokémon will gain EXP when a Pokémon is captured. The Pokémon Centers not only have the standard PokéMart, but will also have a place for you to change your outfit
