CMRenji
...Except it didn't get a type change. Website's got the exact same typing for all three. Where exactly are you reading this now? If Mega Charizard isn't Fire/Dragon, then I don't even
Kakashi Hatake
What's this poke bank thing thou speak of? It's basically where you pay for a lot more storage space for storing Pokemon. A service which i will not want nor need, even if they d*ck us on the in-game storage and we end up not having enough storage space for all 600+ pokemon. Aerion Brightflame
So even if MegaCharizard isn't Fire/Dragon, is the 50% stealth Rock Weakness still worth the fact it has Drought for something like OU? Because I'm hoping yes.
Maeriberii Haan
Yes. Since it actually has better stats compared to Ninetales, a better offensive movepool, and such. And Charlie can be used as a suicide lead, with Ninetales providing some backup sun support. So yes, he should be really viable.
Admiral_Stalfos19
So even if MegaCharizard isn't Fire/Dragon, is the 50% stealth Rock Weakness still worth the fact it has Drought for something like OU? It's possible; especially if the boost to Special Attack is actually decent... ie it ends up with 125-140 Sp. Atk or something like that. That's probably the only way MegaCharizard will survive though, tbh. Either that or it'd be put in the lead position.
vla1ne
This now brings a massive question to mind; will the johto starters get mega evolutions? because it seems like all of them might be in line for the upgrade.
Rawkobo
Where exactly are you reading this now? If Mega Charizard isn't Fire/Dragon, then I don't even http://www.pokemonxy.com/en-us/pokemon/mega_pokemon/ They put the types up. People seriously don't check Nintendo's official websites around here?
Aerion Brightflame
Well like Megacharizard wouldn't be the first thing with a 50% Stealth Rock weakness to be OU viable, and arguably it does more for a team than Volcorona would do. I can see all the starters eventually getting Megaforms. I mean, it wouldn't be crazy to say the least.
Maeriberii Haan
Enough of these Charlie talks. Do you guys think MegaBlasto and MegaVenus are going to be good enough for OU material?
Aerion Brightflame
Venasaur I don't it. From what I know of it, isn't it only in OU currently because of the speed boost it gets under Sun combined with growth. It's lost the speed boost now, so it'll probably be lower tier. Blaistoise... probably could as a decent spinner if it's ability boosts damage it'd be great. Like really great. So maybe OU.
~British Soul~
Meanwhile, confirmation of getting the Kanto starters from Sycamore means that's one more bit of insider info from way back in May that is confirmed.
vla1ne
with his new evolution, Blastoise is easily the best spinner. and Venosaur might have lost his speed, but the thick fat would guard him from 2 of his weaknesses, not to mention the defensive boost, so he's a toss-up until we see competitive play. Maeriberii Haan
Now, to wait for the inevitable confirmation of the dual-type move....
Aerion Brightflame
I hope against dual type moves. I fail to see why they'd be... as helpful. Because whilst yes it's twice the chance to get super effective damage, it's also twice the chance to get resisted. I guess the combination is what would matter to me. Northern Sage
Mega Launcher only boosts on "wave" moves. Hey, maybe Blastoise gets a boost in its move pool. And yes, I was thinking about the May leak too.
vla1ne
I think dual type moves is gonna be for certain legendaries only, If it isn't, then the level of damage that any pokemon could do to any other unfortunate pokemon with either two bad types or a weakness to both moves... Aerion Brightflame
What else does Blaistoise really need in it's move pool to be great for OU? I mean, it's got Rapid Spin obviously. It got Scald, it's got some phazing moves. I mean it getting a SpA or a Def boost would be the icing on the cake, but seeing as I doubt it'd be used as much more than a spinner, it's got all the tools in it's move pool it needs to be a great spinner. I think at least.
~British Soul~
Mega Launcher only boosts on "wave" moves. Hey, maybe Blastoise gets a boost in its move pool. And yes, I was thinking about the May leak too. Mega Launcher increases the power of "Pulse" moves, unless you were thinking that Pulse moves and Wave moves were the same thing or something. Also I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought of the May leak.
Maeriberii Haan
Well, soon OU will experience another surge of powerful creeps. And Blastoise's additional Waterpower might give him an edge when facing against the most common spinblockers/hazard setter.
Aerion Brightflame
I guess it comes down to a) How big the boost is, and b) What moves are counted as Pulse moves (Beyond Water Pulse) It's got decent enough tools be a spinner as it stands, it just comes down to the the specifics now like which of his two important stats get a boost, and if Mega Evo's movepools change. Aerion Brightflame
Ok, that image makes me fall in love with Charizard much much more. Though it looks so much like a dragon that it not having a type change confuses me... Oh and there's the fact it means that odds are in the anime Ash's CHarizard will return and go into it's megaform. Possibily against Gary for some random reason. Maeriberii Haan
Gotta admit that Genesect'd Blastoise looks really awesome. Same goes for Dragon!Charlie. But Venusaur's design is just eeeh, i can't really see what changed from him except some facial changes.
