Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

@Renji: If it was Bug/Dragon, that would be interesting. I mean, Bug is only really weak to Flying/Fire/Rock, and then if you take into consideration the fact that Dragon resists Fire and that Dragon-Types can usually learn Water/Electric/Fire/Grass attacks, it could always cover it's own weaknesses.
Well, to an extent, I mean.

I already pointed this out-

Likely I missed that page. I appologize.

Well flying weakness is almost nonexistent since Flying moves suck. Like the few good moves are very limited and even those have draw backs. Rock weakness does suck since Stealth Rocks is always a thing. The fun part about a Bug/Dragon is it resists Ground, Fighting, Water, Eletric, and Grass. That is very good.

Plus the coverage is pretty nice too. I could see a spectacular Choice Specs set with Bug Buzz, Fire Blast, Draco Meteor, and maybe HP Ground.

And talking about Yanmega specifically, it's Stealth Rock weakness would only be 2x instead of 4x, so that's another bonus.

@Flame Dragon, Hurricane/Acrobatics/Air Slash is a thing. Not really that common but they exist. On topic, I guess Mega Yanmega's typing alone could push it into meta material, if it actually exists as a Bug/Dragon. Assuming no extended movepool. Also, with the stat boost(SpA/ATK or Speed?), it'll be awesome.

Hurricane is inaccurate and limited. Acrobatics is only good if you have no item. Air Slash is ok.

Mainly Brave Bird is what you'll see in terms of competitive battles.

And it could use Sp. Attack over Speed if MegaYanmega gets Speed Boost.

Brave Bird is a good move, but again, limited in who gets it. Ideally I'd like every type to have a move that most can learn that has good PP and Power (80-95 range). ATM I think Rock, Steel, and Flying are the only types without a generic good move.

Togekiss with Air Slash. That is all.

Honestly, I'd prefer if they made a Dragon/Bug Dragonfly pokemon by itself, as I said a while ago, instead of just making it a Mega Evo.

Togekiss is a very good pokemon, so this is true. And yea, I'd prefer new types to be new pokemon, not Megas.

IIRC no Brave Bird user is used in OU bar Skarm and maybe Staraptor. Hurricane is used by Dragonite and Rain based Volcarona, also Tornadus and -T, before he got banned in Smogon.

How has Smogon been recently? My one friend follows what they do and he's said they've been VERY stupid as of late.

Not that bad lately imo. Last time they became really bad iirc is that time when they test a lot of suspects in a short time for OU. After Landorus got hit by the hammer, nothing interesting has happened. Speaking of competitive pokemon, if a pokemon gets retyped into part fairy, is any of them can be a relevant threat/player in the competitive battling?

Yeah, an actual non-Mega evo Bug/Dragon would be nice.

And I'd like to see generic 90 power physical Electric, Fire, and Ice-type moves. I don't think it's fair that special guys get the amazing beams and physical guys have to deal with the punches or something with a drawback.

Yea, I can see some weaker old pokemon getting a push up in tier by becoming Fairy. Like Gardevoir might make it up to UU.

Agreed.

Also, generic special based fighting type move that's not Focus Blast. And also, special based rock type move that's not power gem/ancientpower would be nice.

Rock just needs better moves in general. Stone Edge is nice but 80% acc sucks. Hell, even Rock Slide is only 90%

Rock-type is famous for being powerful but innacurate. It makes sense, logically. Ever use a sling? Super inaccurate, but it killed Goliath.

Of course, realism doesn't make for a balanced game. I don't think we really need a generic good fire move, honestly. Not many physical fire types, and the ones that do normally have Flare Blitz. Normally. Flareon.

Now if only Dynamic Punch was a TM again....
....owait

But in all seriousness, yea, Sp.Atk tends to get more attention, rather then Atk.

There's a reason Stone Edge have the flattering nickname of FailEdge.

Ground needs some good generic move other than EQ. Bug need more special based moves. Also, what happened to the dual-type move rumor?

But EQ is amazing and super fantastic. The only move I could see them adding is like, something with 120 power and 85 accuracy.

And I doubt dual type moves wil ever be a thing. It's too complicated for moves. Plus, that could make STAB get kinda funky.

EDIT:

That's because most of those types started out as only physical moves.

Well Ground does have Earth Power and it isn't THAT hard to get. Duel type moves would be a little crazy.

Don't be dissing my Stone Edge, I already told my story about what happened to Ghetsis's poor Hydreigon.

And I just told my story about how it missed 3 times in a row. The odds of that are insane. I am just that unluck.

depending on type. Bug, Fighting, Dark, Poison(maybe), flying, Rock, and Ground focused on physical.

A lot of that goes back to how the game was set up back when it started. At least Bug, Dark, Poison, and Ground have high power moves for both attack stats.  And Poison's best 2 moves are special. Strangely both are TMs which is a little redundant.

The reason I brought up the dual-type move into discussion, is because it was included in the rumor list that contained fairy type, and other proven rumors. If it actually existed, I don't think the move STAB and Weak/Resist/Immune calculation will be exactly the same as the normal moves.

And Fail Edge haven't net me any K.O since like last year.
