Bit late to the party, Arm. Still mind blowing though.

'Cept I found this rather amusing-
Baby Kanga from the anime:

The one in X/Y is much different.

I swear to god, MegaAbsol reminds me of something, but I don't know what.

Am I the only one who feels these mega forms are ripped from digimon? You have your basic three evolutions, rookie, champion and ultimate in digimon terms. Then everyone thinks they can't get stronger and BANG! You add one more level of power which is called "mega" in both digimon and pokemon. Furthermore to reach this mega form pokemon require a specific held item just like digimon needed a specific crest.

Actually, in Japan (where Pokemon comes from), it goes Baby > Child > Adult > Perfect > Ultimate.

No Mega.

So, it's ripping off from Digimon because they wanted to find a way to make Pokemon stronger without breaking the 2 evolution rule?

So, what you're saying is, they're not allowed to make Full Potential Forms a thing, because that's the same thing that Digimon did.

I mean, you could say that Super Saiyan 3 was the same way, then. Everyone thought Super Saiyan 2 was the highest form possible, but then Goku was like "Look what I can do now."

I'm sorry if we're discussing the english version of both pokemon and digimon.  Mis-translation is irrelevant to what I'm trying to say.

I'm saying they are being lazy.  Instead of adding actual evolutions they add a "Mega" infront of the name and boost some stats and possibly change their abilities.  I wish Nintendo had added a full evolutionary level instead of giving pokemon an art redesign and a cheap "form" change.

Except it's called Mega in both Japanese and English. If it were something like Ultimate Evolution in Japanese and Mega Evolution in English, I'd see your point. But just because they use the term Mega doesn't make it ripping of Digimon.

Media where characters power up through transformation always have super powered forms, like how Issun pointed out DBZ. Saying Mega Evolution copies Digimon is just silly, as there's no way Digimon itself did it first.

Perhaps I worded it poorly.  I feel as if pokemon is sharing too many similarities with digimon.  And i'm not saying pokemon cant power up through transformations?  If I was I'd be hating on the entire evolution method.  Not just these lazy mega forms.

Probably not. It's a battle form, so I imagine it's only for battle. It could be that the item can ONLY activate during battle. As in, the item physically doesn't work. Like how choice items don't affect a Pokemon's ability to use Surf and then Fly outside of battle. Or maybe the Mega forms strain their bodies to use, so they can only be used during battle, when it's needed.

With the hair and wings it reminds me of Fluttershy.

Also, I just wondered if it could be possible to have fun with Mega evolutions in Pokemon Amie. owo

Holy crap, it is. O.O

I was going to Inb4 only "cute" Pokemon being accessible in Amie, but then I remembered the Tyrannitar screenshot.

I figured you just made a typo and left out the 2.

And upon reading, what I've found says the shiny Creation Trio will be available for download to B/W/B2/W2 during certain times, like they did the shiny Legendary Beasts. Not sure where someone read that they were pre-order bonuses.
