Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

I do like the fact that these Mega forms cannot hold another item. Would a Choic'd Lucario be better than Mega form? I can actually see some of the Megas being worse in competitive play. (this does depend on the abilities and stat increases though)

The ones we got so far seem amazing though

That is actually a good point and I didn't think of it before. It could be interesting to see what Mega forms will be better than their regular forms. I honestly can really think of one right now at the moment but maybe I am missing something. Ampharos might be really good if it can get a good dragon type stab.

Ledges! You will thwart me no longer!

If I could only do that for any and all ledges, I would probably like that more than the Mega forms.

From the looks of that image, given the one in the background, that's probably just another localized place where you can ride around on it for a little bit. So ledges will still thwart you, just not in that area.

But sadly, this is what I thought too.

For some reason it reminds me of the Jagged Pass in RSE where you could go up the stepping stones with the Acro Bike.

Yeah, I forgot it already pretty much happened in a certain area before. Still cool, especially this way, and I guess it would defeat the purpose of ledges if you could do it for all of them, anyway.

What could define if the formes suck or are good are the trigger of the transformation. While they are equipped with the stone, do they transform just by entering battle? When they have 1/3 HP left? When they take a critical hit? When they faint an opponent? If the first is true, I will not use it as my lead pokemon during normal gameplay, at least in places with wild pokemon.

Hey, guys. In the video showing all of this off, it said that there'd be a distribution event on October 12th, the day that X & Y comes out, but it didn;t say where the distribution would take place or how to get the stone with Torchic. Also, the 3 shiny legendaries that are supposed to be pre-order bonuses, on the image that advertises them, it has dates under each one that is dated before the game comes out so I'm confused about it. :/

I expect them to transform when entering battle while equipped with the stone.

Nintendo haven't announce any pre-order bonus of their own yet,  aside Gamestop's pre-oder bonus.

It sucks that Pokemon is still the same as it was in Gen I, they need to introduce new mechanics.

Like 3 new types, special/physical split, double/triple/rotation/sky/hoard battles, contests/musicals/pokeathlon? I could go on. Don't forget we'll be able to sit on benches. Benches, man!

I ran into a Farfetch'd during my SoulSilver Nuzlocke and actually thought a Mega one would be funny. Also, in case some of you didn't notice, in the video showing off the Mega Evolutions, when it brought up the Torchic event it said, "This Mega Stone is not obtainable in normal gameplay." So I think it's safe to say we'll be able to find the others.

yes only Blazikenite is unobtainable but also it appear you can  get a regular Torchic in through the normal gameplay but you won't able to mega evolve it unless you get the torchic from the distribution. But then you'd mega Evolve that torchic instead of a regular one. also i'm glad that they come up with super training for helping pokemons to reach their full potentials given atm the 3DS is unhackable (unless we get 3DS action replay off). on the other notes, since it said we can get a charizard of  and torchic through the gameplay, i wonder if we can get Typhlosion  ^_^

GameStop's pre-order gift is what my question is about. There's 3 shinies as a pre-order bonus, but as you can see here, they have dates on them, so if they're pre-order bonuses, why would they do that?

Well, Giratina's date extends past the game's launch, so I don't see how it could be a pre-order bonus. You sure they're not event pokemon, like the three shiny Legendary Beasts? They were done the same way, which each one being available for a certain time.
