gimmepie
I tried posting these a while ago but had some technical problems so here is my attempt at revamping this old archetype. Effect: While face-up on the field this cards name is treated as "Revival Jam". When this card is destroyed by an opponents card (by battle or by card effect) you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon it during your next Stand-by phase. When this card is Special Summoned by its own effect destroy one card on the field. Effect: While face-up on the field this cards name is treated as "Revival Jam". When this card is destroyed by an opponents card (by battle or by card effect) you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon it during your next Stand-by phase. When this card is destroyed by battle you can add one "Slime" or "Jam" card from your deck to your hand. Effect: This face-up cards name is treated as "Revival Jam". When this card is destroyed by an opponents card (by battle or by card effect) you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon this card in your next stand-by phase. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard you can pay 800 Life Points: Add one "Sludge" from your graveyard or deck to your hand. Effect: This face-up cards name is treated as "Revival Jam". When this card is destroyed by an opponents card (by battle or by card effect) you can pay 1000 Life Points to Special Summon this card in your next stand-by phase. Your opponent takes all battle damage from a battle involving this card. Effect: Neither player loses Life Points due to the effect of a "Jam" or "Slime" monster. Only "Jam" and "Slime" monsters can be Special Summoned. If this face-up card would be destroyed by your opponents an opponents card effect, you can tribute one "Revival Jam" instead. Effect: This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn you can detach one Xyz material from this card: Equip one face-up monster on the field to this card. This card gains ATK equal to the level of an equipped monster X100. If this card would be destroyed by a card effect: Destroy an equipped card instead. Effect: Special summon one "Slime" or "Jam" monster from your hand or graveyard in face-up defence position. During each of your end-phases pay 500 LP or destroy the special summoned card. If the Special Summoned monster is removed from the field: Destroy this card. REMOVEDEffect: Target one monster your opponent controls: Special Summon one "Slime" or "Jam" Xyz monster and attach this card and the targeted monster to it as Xyz material, then: You lose life points equal to the attack of the Special Summoned monster and equip this card to it. If this card is equipped to a monster: When it has no Xyz materials destroy it. The strategy is a simple one, maintain a constant field presence bolstered by (albeit fairly weak) secondary effects. Continuously return Slimes to the field, using Sludge to negate the damage you'd take, until you have enough to Xyz for Space Slime, Shock Master or something just as powerful. Alternatively play them with monarchs preventing special summons with Sludge and taking out your opponent with the powerful 2400 atk beat sticks. Could possibly be played with some fish decks, Heroes and Frogs.
DeathWielder
My only complaint is on Forest Slime. You have the effect that allows you to pay 800 LP for its activation. I think that is overkill, considering you already pay 1000 LP to bring the card back. 1800 LP each time it is destroyed? Granted, you might not use the effect 100% of the time, and I can see issues with the effect being spammed if it has no cost. Maybe just a 200 LP cost would be more fair? Also, another concern: with the Sludge Field Spell, could you tribute any slime/jam monster on your field, considering they are all treated by the name "Revival Jam" while Face-up? I don't have any other concerns aside from the above. I really like this idea, and Revival Jam support sounds really fun to use imo.
gimmepie
Since they are all treated as Revival Jam you would be able to tribute them all for its effect yes. As for forest it doesn't always have 1800, they are both optional effects. 1000 for the revival if you choose to revive it and 800 to retrieve a powerful field spell from anywhere except the banished zone (or whatever you call it) which seems quite fair especially since you'd probably just terraform for it anyway. cRAGLE 62
Based on the number of high level boss monsters in the game, Space Slime may get a bit OP'ed after a turn or two, as it can equip up to 3, and with the number of lv 8's in the game, thats a boost of up to 4800 atk, and it cant be destroyed by battle in the meantime. I think maybe limit it to one monster being equipped at a time. That would give it, based on lv 8's, 3100 ATK, and it cant be destroyed by card effects once in a turn. Love the theme and idea, and pictures seem to suit well. 8.5/
gimmepie
Thanks, I'll probably change Space Slime to say half of the equipped monsters attack. The main reasoning for making it so powerful was due to the costs involved in keeping these monsters on the field, without Sludge chances are you'll be spending a lot of time damaging yourself to maintain the presence necessary for the summon. DeathWielder
I think it would also be nice to have some sort of support spell that says something like "You do not have to pay 1000 Life Points to activate the effect of Revival Jam or cards treated by that name." With some sort of cost like "You must discard 1 card at each of your standby phases. If you do not, destroy this card." Just a suggestion, since all of these cards in a deck would require you to have a lot of Life Point gain strategies because you would be losing anywhere from 1000-1800 Life Points to get any effective use out of them - which would hurt the overall deck. gimmepie
Sludge already does that, is easily searchable and has a good secondary effect, why would I waste deck space on a less effective card that does the same thing?
TRUE RULER^(Imper.Di )
It is true that Sludge already covers the Life Point loophole but at the same time it feels as though n"either player loses Life Points" doesn't meet up with the correct wording. I for one wouldn't know how to word it(I've tried with a Psychic archetype I made) no matter how I think of it the wording in my head is off. All in all: Good job on the revival of an old monster, I have occasionally done so myself and it can be pretty difficult. I hope you can get more feedback more constructive than my own. Lol, forgot about that. I didn't look at the cards again before posting.
gimmepie
I have edited Space Slime so it gains less ATK and have added two new support cards.
