Not sure whether I like how flat the blacks in the background are. It's smooth, but textureless and characterless. Some parts of the render are slightly oversharpened.

Very atmospheric though. I quite like the gentle, ambient lighting in this.

Couldn't agree more, conceptually it's nothing amazing, nor is it in regards to execution, but for a first in a while, all you hope for is something that isn't terrible.
The awkward thing is I didn't even sharpen.

I personally don't like how empty it feels, by that I mean there seems to be way too much black bits.

Reminds me slightly of 25st style. That bubbly stuff at the right is pretty sexy. Feel like you could've spammed that a bit more to fill up the emptyness of the piece.

I feel like there should me more varied colors, as your bg is monotone to a contrasting fg. Probably would help with blending.
