Tormented
It was an order on my shop, figured I'd place it here.
DL
The bg looks really nice =0 Tho the render looks a bit faded... I think. Not an expert on this stuff ^.^'' Maybe it's blending into the bg a bit much?
Tormented
I always make most of my renders a tiny bit transparent just so they don't look constantly in your face, that's probably what your getting at. So yeah it probably is blending a bit too much.
Catman25
I like it. Might try working on defining your smudging more. Everything's looking a bit blurry, which doesn't work to accentuate your smudging.
Tormented
Yeah I figured it looked a little flat, needs more layers.
Smear
It's very flat, and don't blend too well. The text has depth in comparison to the rest of the tag, which doesn't make it look too well. The background looks really nice. I think that there could be a lot more done here to make it look better. It's better than anything related to smudging that I can do though. xP Practice makes better (Y) yeah not perfect, there is no perfect tag. Tormented
Right well thank you, would it be a surprise to hear that I've only ever smudged once before? And your right, I admit it was only like one or two layers so no wonder it looks flat.

Tormented
I was talking about the layers of the background, there are like four altogether but I only had two layers for the BG.

Tormented
I somehow manage to make things with the least amount of layers possible.

Tormented
The only issue with my low amount of layers is that I tend to not have that much depth, but I can always add one or two.

chairman ali
My only advice to you is to practice with different smudge strengths and different brushes and settings. These factors will give you different smudge textures; essentially a more creative and unique shape to your smudge style
