I have one big, huge, burning rash of a question, and it is thus:

Why does the Dragonball Z game for Kinect get so much hate?

I've been watching a few plays of it, the combat looks fine, graphics are fine, yet everybody and their grandma DOGS on this. I find it highly reminiscent of the Budokai Tenkaichi 3 release for Wii, same motions and everything, and that was very successful and fun. So, share oyur thoughts on it's high and low/good and bad points please.

I do remember Ultimate Tenkaichi getting a bad rep, mostly because the character customization was bad though (Could only use parts from pre-existing characters, and pre-existing moves as well. Nothing 'original' so to speak). But in essence, aren't they all pretty repetitive? And again, to bring up the Wii one, it's pretty much the same thing, only now you use your entire body.

I think the main problem with Tenkaichi was the Clash System. Once you won a clash, all you had to do was hammer a button. The dynamic camera angles are cool the first couple of battles, then you realise that you are just doing the same thing every battle. All you have to do is hammer square and 90 percent of the time you will win. For example, once I turned my TV off while fighting Broly. I just hammered square for 10 minutes, then turned the TV on and saw the victory screen. I think the same problem is in Kinect as well. Although you see the character moving rapidly and punching and fighting etc, seeing the scripted animations repeatedly must have put the reviewers off the game. It's just lack of variety really.

Okay then... This doesn't really add anything to the discussion at hand, you know.

Sure it does. You ask why people hate on the new DBZ games. I'm stating my opinion. Not much I can do that isn't biased, cause that's the general basis of a game's hate.
No, you jsut said "They suck", you didn't give ANY reasons as to why.

I guess I used the wrong word there. It's not "terrible," just "unnecessary."

They're basically the same game, just with different controls, unneeded transitions between characters during team play, different button patterns for moves, and the story mode is shortened drastically.

As for the Kinect, I just personally don't care for any fast-paced action game that requires constant motions of your arms just to execute basic moves. It's exhausting and it just doesn't pay off.

Like I said before: I can only give an opinion. I can't give a logical reason why people hate the game in general.
Dude, that's how EVERY fighting game is. =/ And that's the ENTIRE point of the kinect is to move your body (which the game uses all of to sway, kick, etc) and get you to MOVE.

That doesn't change the fact that I don't care for it.

It sucks because, like every DBZ game I've ever played (Raging Blast to this), every character is the same, it's extremely repetitive, the design is lazy, it lacks content, the controls suck because Kinect does, and the whole thing feels quickly made and lazy.

I liked Raging Blast 2 until I realized that, apart from supers, every character is the same. Literally. They might kick sightly different, or hit upwards or to the side in the air instead of down, but aside from supers and "B" button moves, they fight exactly the same. This is like playing Super Smash Bros, except every character is Mario, differing only in the colour of their final smash. At least RB 2 had a big Galaxy Mode, and the controls work.

Raging Blast is one of the newest, that's really not much to base on. Go back and play the PS2, they've ALWAYS been pretty much the damn same. LIke all Naruto games up to date. I've also had no problems with Kinect controls whatsoever, so really, I don't see much of a difference between this and the one for Wii.
BUt that's how it's been for years dude. And I've bought every Naruto game (Ultimate NInja series, 1-4, Ultimate Ninja 1-2, and Generations.) All the DBZ game (Budokai 1-3, Tenkaichi 1-3, Raging Blast 1-2), over the entire life of two consoles. And take Tekken, how many variations of "Left punch, right punch, left kick, right kick," can it honestly have between characters and six games?

Should have more than one. Other fighters manage that.

Should is the key word, but the mentality is "Don't fix what isn't broken," It may be the same, but at least it's a working system, yeah?
Not if it's on Kinect.

BADUM TSS.

But yeah, I see your point. I bought it, after all. Alongside dark Souls, no less. 'Course, there's only one of those that I still play...
Lol, nice one xD

There were a few games in the Dark SOuls line, wasn't there? I've heard it's ridiculously hard.

And in my experience at least, I haven't had much problem with Kinect controls, except my room is kinda small. But we'll see whenever I get it, Youtube videos made it look pretty good.

Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and soon, Dark Souls 2. And yeah, it's hard. Hard but fair... mostly.

Lol, my friends told me "Expect to die. A LOT." I've been tempted to try but, but I dunno, haven't seen a terrible lot on it.

It's good, and not so expensive either; if you're on the fence, watch some let's plays. They're usually very entertaining.
