Night
...because why not. Still a wip, but I wanted to post this because it's been so long since I've drawn, perhaps I can improve on my technique. A while ago I decided to start drawing again, this is the first piece of work I've done in about 3 or 4 years. I stopped drawing along the same time I took up graphic design, don't know why, it just happened that way. Also, I'm incredibly rusty, which is why it took 6 hours to conjure just that, the photo was taken with my iphone, so the quality took a drop, keep that in mind. Comments? .Rai
Plumage seems quite dense, but that's me nitpicking. Anatomy seems perfectly fine, the pose of the bird is fairly dynamic (although, you should try a bird in flight sometime later; it's good practice). Shading and detail on this is immense. Night
Any advice moving forward? Considering working on a portrait next, but I'm terrified of failure.
.Rai
In a similar style to the bird, try a side-on head shot. Get a stock of someone side-on, and draw. When I say side-on, not directly. Tilted towards you by about 30° or something. So it's really more of a diagonal shot.
