5/5 Stars

This is not just a movie. It is an experience. As a person who read the book, I had my doubts it could be made into a competent film. When I heard Ang Lee was directing it however, I put all of my trust into the making of this film. I must say, I wasn't disappointed.

The directing was astounding. I mean it really is typical, this is ANG LEE! The director of the legendary Brokeback Mountain. Of course it was astounding. The 3D went very well with this movie, and the actors were picked well. The cinematography was flawless. The story had its own differences but it was still amazing despite that. The Special Effects were the real treat this movie gave however.

I loved this movie. I love it so much that I am going to consider it the Best Film of 2012. Although I won't be sure about that until December 31, I am pretty sure I will pick this movie. I loved it, I continue to love it, and may love it by the time I grow old. This is a movie for the ages. This is an experience unlike any other. All I can say is...

Thank you Yann Martel for making this great book.
And thank you Ang Lee for turning it into such an amazing movie.
Really, Brokeback Mountain, not CTHD or Pride and Prejudice?
I loved how faithful it was to the original narrative. How did you feel about the inclusion of a love interest? I personally didn't mind it at all.

First off, to answer the first question.
Ang Lee directed Brokeback Mountain. He did not direct Pride and Prejudice. And CTHD is good but it isn't one of Lee's best films. That, and I wanted to reference a movie by Ang Lee that captured the emotional depth that Life of Pi had, BM had exactly that.

And I never really minded the love interest, nor did I really think it was THAT MUCH of a setback. It's faithfulness was good however.
