Calender Events
December 21, 2026
“It appears that over 2 million civilians have mysteriously disappeared in New York City while Christmas shopping. The officials have given us no information as to how and why they have disappeared and merely tell us that they are investigating,” said Danielle Fox, anchor of the XYZ News Network. The screen flipped to crying crowds being pushed from the site of the disappearance. “Thousands grieve their lost family and friends though the government assures us that ‘We will get them back’.”
The Fallen King sat upon his obsidian throne staring into a glowing crystal fragment in his hand. He turned it and in the changing light, the facets, showed different scenes. Sometimes it was people dressed in, what Fallen King thought as, odd clothing and at other times showed his own minions who got sucked into the crystal as the Gate of Worlds collapsed. No, the Gate was not gone. The crystal, the Immortal Prism, a sacred item as old as time itself, held the Gate open still. If he was not mistaken, the crystal itself was caught between two worlds. It was unbreakable and even the Gate could not close on it. However, it would be impossible to use the Gate in the current condition. The Fallen King sighed and began plotting his next scheme to break from his prison.

“It’s quite incredible. The crystal adapts to our changes and plods us along,” said Dr. Drake Franzelos, Head of the Crystal Research Team. “We’ll be able to get the game done by summer. Amazing, a virtual portal to another world.”
“Yes, but have you figured out how to get them out of the crystal?” said Matt Pardell, the Director of the Secret Service. “I certainly hope you aren’t simply hyped up at the prospect of creating a video game as well as the existence of a bona fide alternate dimension?”
“Of course not. I have told you a million times already. The only way to get them out, is to put the five shards together so that the can stabilize, which means finding them in game,” said Dr. Franzelos. “That means...” The scientist smiled. “Beating the game, of course.”
The Director sighed. “You haven’t changed, you video game freak.”

All across North America, massive crowds stood outside video games stores, jumping excitedly for the midnight release of the new VRMMORPG, Draszera Online - Legacy of the Shard. It was said to be realism on a whole new level with seamless graphics, a perfect physics engine, deep, engaging AI and endless quests, dungeons and items. The world was said to be actually the same size as Earth and the starting continent was, in fact, the size of Asia. In addition to all that, each person to find one of the legendary crystal shards of Draszera in game and hand it over to a GM will receive 10 million dollars to split among those who helped him or her. The world was in an uproar and millions were drawn to the game.

Draszera is the name of the continent. It is roughly the size of Asia, though it is not the same shape. It is surrounded on all sides by water and players are not allowed, as of yet, to leave the continent. Draszera is divided into nations, most governed by a specific race. The Dwarves and the Dragonborn rule Vulkanya, the nation in the Titan's Mountains, in the East. The Fey rule Noctyle the nation in the Great Wood in the middle of the continent as well as some of the Northern Mountains. The Alfar rule the Land of Ice and Snow in the North. The human magnates rule the massive bit of land in the southwest which they call Ku'rellia, while the Temujai horsemen rule the Great Plain. The Fomorians and Fel (Greenskins) dwell in Teiranoctis to the Northwest. Finally, all the races unite at Altador, the Shining City, a large city-state which owns all the surrounding land. Altador is ruled by the Her Brilliant Majesty, the Queen Titania. New players spawn here in Altador.

All races avoid the Fallen Kingdom far Northwest. It is completely walled to prevent whatever is inside from escaping and from outsiders to come in. Powerful monsters spawn here. It is the End Game area.
{I'll have it up sometime soon}

You are free to create your own race, though it has to go by me. If it is a powerful race, you're character should be some rich guy who can afford paying lots of money for it.
Human - This is self-explanatory. As an in-game bonus for humans, they start off with 1000 more seiya and a starter kit(see system>currency).
Alfar - A peaceful race from the North. They are a premium race and cost 150 USD to make one. This is to keep numbers down as Alfar are seldom seen outside of their kingdom. Their forte is in light magic and healing and also have powerful defensive capabilities. They are slim humanoids with thin features and tapered ears, even longer than an elf's. They have the ability to phase and glow any part of their body which then that part is immaterial and invulnerable, however, they can only sustain this state for 3 seconds ( More for more powerful Alfar) and there is a long recharge time. Things that are touching the light will heal.
Fae - the Fae are further divided into the Were-beasts and the elves. The were-beasts specialize in nature magic, regeneration and fighting while the elves are specialists in stealth, illusion magic, healing and archery. The werebeasts can morph at to any degree (beast-state, half-beast and human) however in their human state there is still telltale signs of their bestiality.
Dwarf - Dwarves are experts in fighting and engineering (for people who don't know anything, the guidance system helps). They are like dwarves in any fantasy genre.
Dragonborn - Dragonborn are another premium race that cost 200 USD to make. They are powerful fighters with wings. They have very hard scales to protect them. They are visually like Dragonborn from D&D and can be any color.
Fel - this race includes orcs and goblins. They are powerful fighters.
Fomorian - a premium race that costs 10000 USD. They are rulers over the Fel and specialize in all areas except healing and light magic. They are silver-ish skinned and very muscular, as well as being much taller than all other races. Think of a somewhat less muscular silver Hulk with a sense of style and armor.
Dokkalfar - another extremely costly race at 12000 USD. These are the outcasts from the Fallen Kingdom and are often reviled.

Players start off with a certain build and items which they choose from. Builds include Warrior, Mage (which they can choose a type of magic), Healer, Rogue and Archer. They gain experience in a skill area, like one would do in Skyrim, by using techniques in that area. Techniques are the moves you use and the Guidance System controls you for a moment to execute that skill similar to how Sword Art Online works. This allows newbs to be able to actually fight. However, it is possible to turn the Guidance System off. This is for people who have a. memorized their moves and no longer require the system or b. people who have real life fighting experience. By turning the Guidance System off, one deals 10% more damage and you now have far more versatility.

Other skills such as Forging and Alchemy also use the Guidance System. Turning the Guidance System off for these will make you go through the whole long process instead of the normal instant crafting (if you have seen Liz forge or Asuna cook in Sword Art Online, you know what I mean) but the created item is twice as good.

NPCs are exceedingly realistic, but that is due to the fact that they are real people. They all have their own private agendas and whatnot. Players, unless they are for some reason privy to classified info, do not know this. Killing NPCs, except particular evil ones, is forbidden. If you were about to kill one, you would be frozen and force logged-out.
NPCs know that you come from another world. You are supposedly part of the Crystal Faction, a group trying to find the Shards, and that you are competing on obtaining them. If you are nice to NPCs, they will help you (this is granted as they are real people).

Draszera Online does not have a premium currency. All is bought with the in game currency seiyas which are more or less equivalent to 50 cents each in USD. Players start off with 200 seiyas, except humans, which start off with 1200 and Fomorians, which start off with 2000.

Blood is censored from those of 20 years or younger unless they have passed a psychological trauma test. Downtown, where brothels are located, is sealed off to those who are 17 years or younger. Because this is PG-13, we will not be dealing with those :3

DaWeirdGuy - Human, Swordmage
Simdoggy - Yet Unknown
DoubleC4 - Unknown, Swordmage?
Aqua Force - Icarus, Swordmage
Admiral_Stalfos19 - Werewolf, Fighter?

Note: This is not a "OMG, I got trapped in an MMORPG kind of thing". Actually go read the story. It'd also be good for your character if someone important to him/her disappeared during the great disappearance in NYC.

NOTICE TO ALL SWORDMAGES!!!!!
Imma make it so that if you r a swordmage, you gotta tell me:
a. What type of magic (e.g. what element or just describe it if other)
b. what kind of tactic you use (flanking your opponent, weakening enemies, distractions, etc)
c. what kind of ultimate ability you want later on, if any, OR, what type of super awesome powerful weapon you want in the future, these are almost one and same, as super abilities must be OBTAINED as a rare item/ability on a quest.

And this stuff has to be different from other swordmages for variety

Character Name: Michael Peritt
Age: 22
Gender: Male
In Game Race: Human
In Game Class: Warrior
Michael stands at approximately 5’11, and wields a rather muscular build, though he appears to be rather slim when clothed. He has a simple and average body, asides from his musculature, with quite average length arms and legs, and average body shape. Even his complexion is a rather average white; not too pale, not too tan.

He has dark, medium-length brown hair that is generally rather unkempt and unstyled; though this is not, in itself, derogatory to his appearance. Quite the opposite, in fact, for its scruffiness is part of its charm. He has dark, forest green eyes that seem to sparkle with positivity, and slightly contrast with his skin tone.

He often adorns himself in simple clothing; mostly just a comfortable t-shirt and a pair of jeans. If he is going out, he will occasionally don a simple leather belt; occasionally attaching a bokuto & sheath if necessary. He sometimes carries sparring gear with him, in a small backpack that he carries on his left shoulder; though this really just consists of more flexible, fighting pants and knee-/elbow-pads.

As he picked Human as his race, his physical appearance changes very little. The only notable change is the slight Heterochromia between his eyes, with only one taking on the ordinary Dark green tone; the other changes to a more unusual pale purple colour.
The rest of the differences are mainly in attire. He still prefers more comfortable fitting clothing, and as such restricts himself to mostly leather armour, which improves his speed greatly at the cost of less defensive capability. He wears simple leather pauldrons, gauntlets and greaves over the top of his rather ordinary cloth clothing, dark brown in colour. Again, he adorns himself with a simple, leather belt, which holds a single sheath, home of his standard Short sword. On his back lies the standard Shield, both having come as beginners equipment for Warrior classes. In a side pack on his belt lies the Starter pack of Humans, though he hasn't opened it yet, and has no idea what comes in it; even the size leaves no clue, for the game has the obvious effect of storing large things in small spaces.
He also wields, on his back, his main weapon: A rather large, decorated Longsword - the handle obviously made for a two handed weapon. Its length is about 5'6, from the pommel to the tip, making it almost as long as his body. The sheath is held on his back, underneath where his shield attaches, and strange runes run along the flat of the blade. The blade is a fire-element weapon, capable of channelling Magic energy into fire-based attacks. Using it often makes Michael's purple eye glow slightly, and the runes also shine a little. This weapon cost most of the bonus 1200 seiyas that humans start with, but it has so far been worth it.

Michael is a rather light-hearted and carefree person, rarely getting serious about anything. He has a rather lax personality, much preferring to lounge about at home, playing video games or listening to music, than doing anything that requires a lot of effort; such as going outside or talking to people. As such, he appears slightly introverted and his reluctance to talk to people can lead to awkward situations.

However, he does show effort and determination when it comes to one thing. His martial arts are the highlight of his life; more specifically, his Kendo and training for it. It is considered slightly unusual for him to do Kendo, coming from Britain, not really famous for its Kendo masters. But he shows passion in this one thing, and exercises regularly for the sake of progressing.

The idea of a virtual reality game has always been of interest to Michael. He has been a lover of video games for a while, specifically fantasy ones, and the idea of being able to apply his kendo and sword fighting to realistic scenarios has always been appealing to him. As such, he has shown much interest in this Draszera world, being one of those who lined up for hours just to get into the game.

Inside the game, he is still rather relaxed and calm, showing little aggression or frustration. He is rather tactical and efficient; and although he didn’t wish for it, he appears to have developed a sort of ‘lone wolf’ dilemma, struggling to make long term allies or companions. This is primarily due to his tactics focussing a lot on self-preservation, and due to his lack of good conversations and such.

Will do in a bit. Wont be too long, I dont think. After all, he's just a normal human.

As a Kendo professional, Michael primarily relies on sword-based techniques, and is a powerful sword user. He can use basic sword fighting skills without relying on the Guidance system.
-Ambidextrous flurry: By using his short sword and tossing it between both his hands, Michael unleashes a 5-attack flurry upon his opponent.
-Shield Ram/Smash: Michael charges/smashes his opponent with his shield, dealing little damage, but stunning them.
-Fire Sword Flurry: Michael uses his long sword's ability to channel fire to unleash a blazing flurry upon his opponent, dealing a similar effect to 'Ambidextrous Flurry', but with an added damage bonus and a chance to inflict a burn.
-Firestarter: Only Useable in a flammable environment. Michael swipes his sword along the ground, creating a wall of flame between him and the opponent.
-Spiral Inferno: By swinging his sword in a circle, Michael creates a ring of flames that can be used for defense, and deals small amount of damage to users of physical attacks that are blocked by this.
-Flame Scythe: Michael swings his blade in an arc, unleashing a scythe-shaped projectile flame at his opponent, for his (currently) only ranged attack.

Michael is mainly talented in his sword fighting, both one-handed and two handed. He also has above average strength and stamina, making him viable as an assault or tank-esque character.
He has slight magical potential that is only utilisable through enchanted weaponry; which often turns out to be rather expensive. Though this does make him viable as a sword-mage candidate.

Strength: 80/100 (Physically, Michael is in prime condition. He is healthy and strong, able to wield his large, two handed Longsword effectively, and even hold it with one hand, though this decreases the sword's utility.)
Stamina: 90/100 (As stated, Michael is in great condition. He can survive long runs and extensive battling, due to regular exercises and his Kendo training. He is able to fight for great lengths before tiring.)
Vitality: 90/100 (Again, his health is impressive, and his experience with Kendo and Martial arts means he can take many hits before it effects his capabilities.)
Magic: 40/100 (He lacks much magical skill, due to his being more focussed on his sword fighting and melee combat. However, he does show potential for magical use; though he does require a weapon to channel said magic through. This gives him the potential to be an effective sword-mage.)
Offense: 85/100 (Due to his Kendo training, he is quite effective at sword fighting and attacking opponents; skills that have transferred in game. His capability is so much that he doesn't require much use of the Guidance system, though it is useful in assisting these.)
Defense: 50/100 (While Michael has much skill and experience in defending against swords and similar weapons, he has little experience or talent in defending against weapons/skills of different varieties - such as polearms, ranged weapons and magic)
Healing: 10/100 (Michael has never had any talent at healing or medical practises, even failing first-aid lessons in school. He can apply a simple bandage, and that's about his limit)

Will eventually develop into a Sword-mage, if the class is made available.

Michael is capable of using many types of melee weaponry, to a good standard; though he does specialise in Swordsmanship. Axes, Knives & maces are other weapons that he is good in. He is terrible with ranged weapons.
He is also very capable when fighting bare-handed, due to experience with Mixed-Martial arts; but he cannot use techniques without weapons; meaning his only 'technique' is his ability to disarm his opponents.
(Because, despite starting this Swordmage clusterf*ck over here, I still have to put it >.>)

Since he specialises in enchanted weaponry, an enchanted sword would be his ultimate weapon. A blade with multiple enchantments spun along the rune encrested blade, allowing for multiple forms of magic to be used. A longsword will be the most likely weapon of choice, with a 5-foot long blade and a one and a half hands long hilt; the pommel being decorated with multiple enchanted gems, allowing for the storing and unleashing of mana, for devestating attacks.
An Enchanted shield would also most likely join his armoury, a seemingly simple Buckler with enchanted gems and runes decorating the centre and the outer rim, allowing for mana to be channeled through it. Such an item would project a shield of magic, extending from the shield itself for distances depending on the amount of mana put in.
His other main weapon will be a pair of magic-enfused gauntlets, allowing him to project simple fireballs from his palms. These weapons would double as armour and possibly a weapon in fist fights.

After enhancing his skills tremendously and becoming a fully-fledged swords-mage he will be able to perform magic in a similar way to mages and the like, without channeling it through any weapon. However, he must be at least touching an item with the ability to channel magic, and his powers will be severely weakened.

Of course it's a reality. Because it's actually another world, you can do whatever the heck you want. Knock yourselves out.

Oh and another thing, I will allow you people to create your own race but it has to go through me first, then, I will add it to the OP.

More bad-ass? Hah! NEVA! Let us see who is more bad-ass when my giant flaming longsword decapitates you!

But yeah, my guy will focus heavily on his Melee, but that doesn't mean his magic is weak. He just can only use it through weaponry. It also means that he has to rely more on tactics & strategies, which he knows about considering his past with fighting.

Can I suggest a race? If this is added then I may play as one. It's called an Icarus (named after the character in Greek mythology who flew to the sun, causing his wax ings to melt)

The Icarus are generally a peaceful race. They don't raid any cities they see. However, they are more loyal than peaceful. If an ally is in danger, they will gladly fight. They are formidabble warriors who tend to wear light clothes to assist there flight. They have a lot of feathers but have humanoid bodies with wings. They usually stand a little higher than a human (the average man being over 6 foot, and many can reach up to seven foot). They are usually quite muscular (males) and most are green, white, or a light blue colour. Those who have even a hint of evil inside of them will have purple or black in there feathers (although this is sometimes considered as racist, some can overcome the darkness). Royalty (and some others) are usually white. A gray Icarus is considered the lowest of the low. The Icarus prefer to use longswords or bows as weapons, and can fly higher, faster and more skillfully than even actual birds.

Reserving a werewolf for now. Can't really act on app making atm since I'm having Xmas launch with my aunt and her family. (Before you say anything, yes it is Christmas Day where I am :/) But I'll start on it as soon as I get back.
Well, bon appetit. Anyway, do you mean a werewolf as in the fae? I would like you to know these guys morph whenever and have full controls, they can also partial morph. In their human state, they still have slight signs of their bestiality, though what these are is up to you. And yes, they only can morph into a specific creature, however, as they progress, it is possible to gain the ability to morph into other creatures and eventually be an almighty friggin' Chimera.

I gotta go update the OP.

They have arms. Pretty long ones, with talons on the hands. How would they use their longswords without arms? Also, the Icarus live in the southeast, where there is a floating island above the great plain (I found no detail of where that was located, change the southeast bit if you wish). The island is huge and contains magnificent structures (like the elven city in the Lord of the Rings)
Biography']Ill spent his life in Draszera, never 'outside of the game'. He was an Icarian knight, the best there was - until it happened. His world crumbled before him as the greatest enemies of the Icarians - the Dragonborn - some escaped, and Ill was one of them. There are now a few scattered across the world, and an unknown meddler from Earth has altered the dimension that Draszera is in to make Icarians playable. More than NPCs. Ill isn't thrilled about this. No Icarians are. These people playing as Icarians are cmmonjly known as Bio-carians (named after the fact that they are really humans and are organic lifeforms). You do realise that you've just posted an empty app, right?

Eh, like I care. I'll start filling in fields as I go along, like I usually do.

God... why does everyone want to be a sword mage (lol, I'm a hypocrite). Anyone want to be a paladin or something instead? No archers? We have no backrow. I guess I'll have to fill those roles out...
Actually, I was thinking more fighter for my character, considering that fits werewolves best imo.

Paladin, in all definitions, is a tank. He can heal, which makes him more of a tank. Tank. Tank. Tank. Tank. Tank. Good for strategic use, sometimes. Protect backrow if needed, otherwise, you can be the vanguard. Charge into battle like a boss, cuz you can't die.

Archer? You be the sniper. You can charge up the shot like heck and fire it. Go camp. Aim for dem weak points, take out the commanders. 360-no-scope-headshot-cross-map. Yep, that's you.

Mage=Explosion. Ka-Boom. You can go two ways at this. Spam smaller attacks, or charge up for a nuke. You can change the tide of things here. Sometimes a battle could just be about protecting you until you release that super explosion.
