Yep, I've read all the way through fear. Waiting to get 'Light'. Hoping to get it for Christmas. I find it kinda outlandish...almost too much so...but balanced on the edge of interest. It's a pretty good series. I didn't like Astrid's character transformation in the last few books though.

I wish they would have kept Astrid more, I guess the right word would be innocent. She kind of provided a balance of subtlety and pureness among the town, but she was the only that that did so that didnt have powers. I'm not sure when Light comes out, but I am so excited for it. When Diana gave birth to the Darkness's baby, it blew my mind.

I not so sure how I feel about Diana giving birth to the baby. I find it extremely hard to relate to an all powerful villain in the body of a baby...it borders on the edge of comical. I agree they should have kept Astrid more innocent, in fact I believe even Sam should have been kept a little more innocent. The sexual tension between the two added something I can't put my finger on, but now that it really isn't there you can definitely tell a difference.

I liked it in the first two books when Sam and Astrids relationship wasnt sexual. I dont mind it so much, it just made me feel that this wasnt going to be some cheesy romance story (which it still isnt) when their relationship was simple. I hope they dont keep the baby as the main villain, and I'm willing to bet they wont. If the baby can form in the short time that it did, it will probably grow at an advanced rate as well.

Probably.

Agreed, simple relationships in books are always better than twisted feelings and complicated love triangles.

Especially when the relationship is just Sam missing his physical relationship with Astrid while she's angry at him, then going crazy on her when she comes back. That tends to happen a lot.

I think I'm more excited for the fight with Drake than anything else. He's always been my favorite villain in the book.

I liked Caine in the first 2 books or so, but then once again the book got sexual and my interest with him was lost. And yeah, Sam and Astrids relationship seems to be a cycle...

But it leaves it to question if they'll remain together or not. It's also quite a possibility that one of them (most likely Astrid) will die in the last book.

I don't know...having Sam die and then Astrid going on telling their story seems pretty plausible.

I could see that. I picture Astrid overcome with rage when faced with the Darkness when she thinks about Little Pete being gone, followed by death. Sam, then in a rage, completely destroys it. But I could see Sam dying with it and Astrid living too. Or maybe Cain? He's had a love-hate relationship with Sam.
