I haven't read the whole thing yet, but this is just horrible.

First Aurora, now this. When will trigger-happy NRA gun advocates realize that they need to acquiesce and lay off? We need gun restrictions, and the sooner the better.
Rinne the NRA had nothing to do with this. Even if they already regulate guns as much as they legally can there is no way of regulating the people who use them. After all how do you regulate crazy?

If you regulate guns, only the crazies will have them, because TRUST ME, they will find a way to get them.

Now let's try to not turn this into an argument about gun control, make another thread for that if you want.

And as for why people do these kind of things? Well, some people just want to watch the world burn.

If you don't talk about controversial things, you aren't going to get them changed. :3

Here, here

And Composer I cannot do anything else but completely agree on that. There are some people out there who don't care about anybody but themselves and if given the chance would go out and kill as many people as possible

He wan't sick and a terrible person as much as he was troubled and with mental health problems..
I was guessing that but yeah, people really need to learn the difference between someone who's a sinner and someone who's just mentally ill
And how in the world did this troubled and mentally ill person manage to get his hands on a gun? Especially if he has a history of having mental illness?
That's quite the good question, I have no idea as well
Maybe he could've stolen it

So Rinne's argument has merit? After all, if it weren't so easy to get his hands on a gun, then there could have been a chance that this wouldn't have happened or the casualties could possibly have been lower.

I will say it again. If someone wants a gun, they will find a way to get one. Or they'll just use a knife, make a makeshift bomb, etc.

If they intend to cause harm, they WILL cause harm, gun or no gun.
I highly doubt a guy with a knife will kill as many people as a guy with a gun. Sure, people can argue that if people will want to kill than they will still kill, but you have to understand the difference in power having a knife and having a gun gives you. Someone's less likely to pull a knife on someone than pull a gun on someone, and certainly less likely to commit mass murder with one.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.

I hate to post this, but I feel it's relevant to this site.

A news outlet falsely called out the name of the attacker and named his older brother. (Which is extremely damaging to one's personal life) Word got out that this older brother liked Mass Effect on Facebook.

This happened.

While I disagree with the, "Let's ban guns," response, I understand it. This...

20 kids and 8 adults... meh, sucks but what 'cha gonna do? It happens.

With something of this scale, preventative measures can and should be taken. Tighter security in schools comes to mind.
