Oh god I love Dead or Alive and it's obnoxious difficulty gaps xD

This is getting a bit specific, but any game where you're scripted to lose that fight, simply because they don't say that you NEED to lose first so you end up wasting all your items then raging when you find out it's scripted xD

Exactly xD And Final Fantasy and the Tales games seem to be huge fans of those since there's one in almost everyone of them xD If I'm supposed to lose, then just give me a cutscene where the guy just kicks my butt instead of making me think I stand a chance to win?

Tales of ____ also usually have some weird difficulty spikes, especially Vesperia...

I haven't played many difficult games, but the two I would have found the hardest is Jak 2 in PS2. The times required for the Gold record on the stadium races were incredibly tight. Also, Uncharted Drakes Fortune on Crushing was quite tough, but still definitely possible. The only place I really struggled in was the plane wreck in Chapter 4. ( took me 20 deaths to come up with a strategy) Otherwise, I haven't played any really difficult games...

The original Castlevania was pretty damn difficult from what I recall.

More recently, either of the Devil Survivor games. It's more artificial difficulty, though, since it's basically based around forcing you to grind to stand a chance, which was the only part of those games I didn't like. Fortunately, using a little EXP multiplication goes a long way, but even after a grinding session the bosses could be hard as f***.

I recall one of the Tales of games being difficult, but idr which it was I played, but that might have just been because I really couldn't master the combat style.

Nuzlocking any pokemon game because I am the literal worst nuzlocker on the planet.

I think that's about it.

It took you guys 12 posts to say Dark Souls?

It took you 66 posts for me to say Demon Souls.

Also 66 posts for me to say Sonic '06 and Shadow the Hedgehog. Because they're both so incredibly bad and boring that I will shake the hand of, then scold, anyone who has beaten either.

Castlevania and the 'Souls' games don't count. :3

Crash Bandicoot, after 12 years since first playing it, is one of the most controller-breaking games I've ever played again.
That and Majora's mask. I can't even get past the first boss, and running out of time is the least of my problems...

That's hard to say. there's a lot of hard games, more so with annoying parts rather than simply being hard. I think annoyingly hard parts are worse than a game simply being hard. Then it's either that I'm a bad gamer, or that the game is un-fair, Silver Surfer style.

Whack-a-mole.

I loled.
