inb4 the christmas lights on the logo not going up until December 27th

Anyway, it's December now, so you're now all allowed to talk about the upcoming holiday. As opposed to talking about it in November and October, which should be punishable by death. Once again I'm starting a general christmas thread to discuss all that is good bad and plainly indifferent about the wintery wonderland that is sweeping the forum. Maybe.

I've done all my xmas shopping already *insert look of great smugness* And my decs (ie. a tree) will be going up either tomorrow or Monday.

So yeah, altogether now...

"On the first day of christmas..."

Still not really into the Christmas spirit, I never usually am until Christmas Eve. Kind fo selfish?
I am moreso into the spirit of Birthdays. I share a birthday with like 5 of some great friends of mine. And that is coming up really soon<3.
My sweet 16 too!!!!

Dude, your birthday is the day before mine!

Because that's the main celebration really. :D

This is a xmas thread. Not a birthday thread.

Although if anyone wants to send me something... :D

I believe you were owned on the lights.

I'm more or less done, just need to pay my parents for sister's present. Who low and behold hasn't even asked what I want (since I'm fussy).

Yes. I have already conceded that Pika has owned me on the lights. Pika owns me. <_<

I find it more frustrating my sister couldn't decide on what she wanted, so I got her a generic bottle of bubbly fizz and chocs. She don't like it, its her fault. (I'd rather get people things they know they want than an underwhelming surprise).

Bah, humbug! Christmas, birthday: sounds like the same thing to me.

Probably my favourite thing about the holidays is that coffee shops start selling festive lattes and stuff. Gorgeous stuff, if I ever get the chance to go there.

This is the same sister who told me for my birthday to select whatever DVDs I wanted as long as it was under £30 for my birthday....several days after my birthday because she was skint...till just after my birthday. (But still managed to get her friend's leaving/birthday present before mine when it was after...)

My dad never asks for anything other than socks, he does manual labour for his work so gets through them quickly. Wish I could get him something else like train tickets (since his only hobby is trainspotting)

Well today I wouldn't shut up about some creepy black owl that I saw while me and my mom were shopping for my sister, so she bought it for me and told me that it would be going under the tree, so yeah my mom hates it but I love that thing.

  • 2 weeks later...

My church's Christmas service is switching from a children's format to an adult choir format. No offense to the kids, but I prefer the adult choir, because I'm deathly afraid of children singing. Lullabies, nursery rhymes, you name it...they give me the chills for some bizarre reason. On a happier note, it'll be nice to see the family again.

This. Think everyone is posting saying they listen to them all year is either lying or slightly crazy.

I need to get my YCM Secret Santa and haven't got the foggiest idea. I don't have any graphics skills, hmm... :(

Woah, hold up. Is that even possible? Hype for Christmas begins much earlier than the Eve, and part of that hype is imbedded with Christmas songs. I can understand not listening to it in April, but during all of December they are all meant to be played.

Christmas songs is a genre, and it happens to be one of my favorites. I may be a bit off at times, but not all people are necessarily crazy for listening to them all the time. So I will admit I feel somewhat insulted...

Christmas songs should only be played when its christmas, not even through the majority of December. If they were songs to be played trough December, shouldn't they be called December Carols, not Christmas Carols. They were originally created to be played on christmad, not in December or any other time. Besides, it's absurd how early shops start getting ready for Christmas, they should leave the Christmas decorations to be put up in December at earliest, not in about July, August like they tend to like doing.
