Auralady
Death City, Nevada Desert, Nevada. A city once home to Death Weapon Meister Academy, a special school that trained certain students to fight soul-eating creatures called kishin and defeat them. Thus protecting the world and keeping good and evil in perfect balence. These students were divided into two groups: weapons and meisters. Weapons were those students that had the ability to completly and partically transform into some kind of weapon and back to human. They consumed the souls of the evil humans known as kishin. Meisters were those students that partnered with and wielded a weapon. Seven years later and Death City still stands, as does the Academy. But things have changed drastically over the years... Thanks to the DWMA and their weapon and meister students, there are no more kishin or witchs. The Academy was left empty and abandoned for seven years and Lord Death has left this world. Their is no more Academy or Lord Death or Death Scythes anymore, and there haven't been for seven years. Maka, Soul, Kid, Liz, Patty and Black Star broke up along with the rest of their classmates and seperated to go their own ways. They haven't seen or heard from each other in those seven long years. But weapons are still being born and still teaming up with meisters to engage in fighting. But this time, they are fighting each other. Without the DWMA to teach these young weapon and meisters and no kishins or witchs to protect the world from anymore, they have turned to illegal, and often deadly or otherwise harmful to both weapon and meister, fights with each other. So I ask you reader. What happens when a certain group of people unexpectadly reunite under these circumstances, after not hearing or seeing each other for seven years?Chapter One: Return To Death City Hey guys and welcome to my new Soul Eater Fanfiction! I just wanted to give you some background information on what our favorite charachters have been doing for the past seven years. Tsubaki Nakatsukasa: Weapon. Like the others, Tsubaki has changed over the seven years since things for Death City started to go down hill. She is one of the charachters that changed the most drastically. Now 22 years old, Tsubaki has transformed from a pretty girl into a lovely young women. She is now "street smart" and has hardended herself against the new way life is run in Death City. Death the Kid: Meister and tecnically now considered Lord Death. Kid's whereabouts is a mystery since the group disbanded. It's like he droped off the face of the Earth. He is now 21 years old. Liz and Patty Thompson: Weapons. The only thing really that has changed about Liz and Patty, is that they have returned to their old ways before they met Kid. Patty is now 21 and Liz is now 22. Black Star: Meister. Black Star has become a mercanary for some of the big time arena bosses in the past seven years. He is now 21. Soul Eater Evans: Weapon. Yeah, not surprising that Soul would become tangled up in the fights really. He's not the same hot headed but caring, cool and relaxed guy that used to be willing to lay his life on the line for his meister anymore. Now hes a serious, well trained fighter that has become hardened to the new way Death City is run like Tsubaki has. He lives in the same apartment he shared with Maka, only now it's just him and Blair. He is 21 and Blair is 28. Maka Albarn: Meister. Maka has become a bit like a cross between Tsubaki and Kid. She's become hardened to new life in Death City since the group disbanded seven years ago. Of course she has also just returned to Death City, after spending most of those seven years traveling all over. She is 21. Soul's POV ~ Death City...I called it that even though it was nothing like the Death City that I remembered. Sure it looked the same physically and all. But if you were a weapon or meister, then you knew the truth about the dark down fall the city had taken over the past seven years. Ever since the DWMA succeeded in riding the world of kishins and witchs and the students of Death Weapon Meister Academy had disbanded, things started to go down hill pretty quickly. I hate admit it, but our own group broke up to go our seperate ways. It didn't seem possible since we were all so close, but that was when we were kids. We grew up and grew apart from each other with, it seemed like a little more each day. So we split. Of course most of us like: me, Black Star, Tsubaki, Liz and Patty stayed in the city. But Kid out right disappeared off the face of the map one day. Then Maka left a few days later to travel the world like her mother did when we were kids at the Academy. We just all lost touch with each other like we had never faced Asura and Arachnaphobeia together. Like we had never met each other and formed a kick ass team. But the real problem came when Lord Death died. With Kid gone there wasn't anyoone else to keep Death City in order, but Weapons and Meisters were still being born and teaming up with each other to fight. That's how the whole illegal Duel Arts Rings started. They're nothing more then fights to the death or near death, that's if you're lucky. Some people weren't surprised to hear that I got cought up in the middle of these stupid bloodbaths. But I did and there was no going back...not when you became well known in the Duel Arts Circut anyway. It's been like that for the past seven years now. "Yo Soul!" Not cool. I turned around and moaned in annoyence when I saw who it was, a dude named Kaid who also happened to be another well known weapon in the Duel Arts Circut. We hated each other, to the point where the only reason either one of us were still bothering the other was because we had never fought each other in the arena. Yet anyway. The dude was twenty one like me with greasy black hair and dark brown eyes. A total player, which I was fairly familier with being around considering my meister's old man used to be one, and devious in ways that would shame even Medusa. "What do you want now Kaid?", I sighed, "Don't you have anouther match? Or somebody to threaten? Anything other then bothering me again?" The guy kind of reminded me of Black Star from when we were all students at the Academy...no. Not like Black Star, but like the Little Demon. Sure Kaid had Black Star's fighting skills, there was no doubting that, but he had a mindless sense of ruthlessness my old friend never had. This weapon made me feel uneasy. "What? You're not going stay around and watch to see what you have to look forward to in the Finals?", Kaid laughed as he smirked at me. I rolled my eyes and grinned back at him, showing my pointed teeth. "Nah dude, like I'd ever be afraid of you.", I replied sticking my hands in the pockets of my leather jacket, "But cool guys don't show off like idiots just because they can." I could hear the weapon cursing at me all the way out of the building but ignored it. When I steped outside the cool night breeze blew itself through my white messy hair. For the most part I looked the same I had years ago, with some slight changes. My eyes were still a blood red and my hair was still messy and white. I still wore a black hairband and black leather jacket. My jeans were a dark blue and my shirt under the jacket was still a plain orange shirt. But I was taller then before...a lot taller...like around 5'9" or 5'10". I was more built then before to as far a muscle goes, but I'm still in shape...both a result from the fights. But I didn't feel the same as back then. I had hardened myself against the new ways things operated in Death City...everyone had. You had to otherwise you'd be eaten alive in a matter of hours. I shook my head and headed down the street towards the apartment I shared with Blair, at least that didn't change with the rest of the city. The apartment and Blair were the only things that kept me sane. Kept me tied to what life in Death City used to be like. When the magical cat first decided to stay I had my doubts due to our history of her trying to seduce me and causing me to get nosebleeds. But now I was glad the magical feline decided to stick around. She was a part of the past that I didn't want to loose, refused to loose really. I was too busy trying to get back to the apartment and Blair, that I didn't realize I carelessly bumped into someone. Before I could say a word the spine of a thick book is slamed into my skull. "What the hell!?", I yelled grabing my head. It took a minute for this whle thing to really registar with me, but once it did I froze on the spot. I was hit in the head with the spine of a book!? I hadn't had that happen to me in years..seven to be exact when I thought about it enough. I had forgotten the pain that came with it too though, that I wouldn't have mided not remembering. But I didn't care about that at the moment. All that mattered was the person standing in front of me holding the book and glaring at me. My mouth nearly fell open. It had been seven whole years without a trace or sound of her, but I'd reconize this person anywhere no matter what she looked like. Hey guys and welcome to my new Soul Eater Fanfiction! It had been seven whole years without a trace or sound of her, but I'd reconize this person anywhere no matter what she looked like. Those narrowed olive green eyes and the book held ready to strike again when needed. Her ashy blond hair was long and loose around her sure, but I could still see her in pigtails like I had just seen her the day before. "Maka?" Maka's POV ~ Returning to Death City wasn't an easy thing for me to do, especially with the down hill turn it had started to make seven years ago after Lord Death died and Kid up and left. I was the only other person to leave the city beside Kid. The others stayed and so did Blair. There really wasn't anything tying me to the place anyway at that point. Now that the DWMA had been abandoned with the end of kishin and witches, and Papa's death and all that. I mean...yeah I had Tsubaki, Liz, Patty, Black Star and Soul still. But even we had agreed to disband our little group now that the world was safe and all that. Not to mention we had just started to grow apart from each other. Soul and I hardly even talked to each other, let alone like we used to. And we were partners and best friends too! So I left and traveled around like Mama did while we were at the Academy. The first few months were hard being alone. I'd wake up every morning and call for Soul to come eat brakefast, or to expect Blair laying on top of the sheets of my bed at my side. Soul wouldn't respond no matter how long I waited and Blair was nowhere in the apartment. That was when the reality of my partner and the magical cat not being there sunk in and hit the hardest. Along with them, came the realization that Tsubaki, Kid, Liz, Patty and Black Star weren't around either. I wouldn't be walking up the Academy steps with Soul walking beside me with his hands in his pockets. I wouldn't be seeing Kid, Tsubaki, Patty, Liz and Black Star in the hallway. I wouldn't be sitting in the classroom with any of them, as Proffesor Stein disected some rare species of CouCou Bird that was almost extinct. Papa wouldn't be begging me to forgive him for cheating on Mama and yelling at Soul to stay away from me. None of it. It was all gone... But after the first few months I grew used to it and was able to bury any memories of what life used to be like in Death City. That those things were better off in the past where they belonged, then having them yanked to the surface. Remembering was too upsetting. I walked down the streets looking around at the same old looking buildings in the city, when I had something large and hard caren into me. I stumbled back a bit, but regained my balence and instantly proceeded to knock whatever I bumped into on the head with the spine of a book I pulled out of my bag. Maka Chops were my best defense, aside from my newly mastered Weapon Gene. But I hardly used my Weapon Gene...anouther attempt to block out the memories I had of this place. I went to put the book away when I froze and a shiver ran down my spine. "Maka?", came a distinctly male voice. I looked up to see that I had bumped into a guy my age, a very familier guy. A guy that was taller and better built then before sure, but there was only one person I had ever met with stark white messy hair, blood red eyes and shark-like pointed teeth. My old roomate and weapon partner... "Soul?!", I stared wide eyed.
