When an astronomical event rains stickers across the land, Mario embarks on an epic, flat-out advenure!

I absolutely adore this game, I've only had it for a day and it may already be my favorite Paper Mario.

It's back to its turn-based RPG goodness, but still with plenty of twists. (Or should I say folds?) Stickers are an absolute necessity (without them you can't even jump or use your hammer in battle), but they're in a respawnable abundance so my fears about lack of stickers was quickly brushed aside. There's no sort of level up or partner system that I've found, but as you go along the amount of stickers you can hold increases and you can collect health upgrades on the side. The world is split up into an overworld with different areas split between Worlds and Levels, like Super Paper Mario.

As for the aesthetics, paper has never looked better and the whole world has placed even more prevalence on paper than ever before. Enemies being crumpled up as you fight them or folding themselves into different shapes to fight; puzzles being solved by "Paperization" where you can place stickers onto the landscape itself or tear, fold, or roll pieces of the world to suit your needs; characters' actions and dialogue reflecting that they're made of paper.

Discuss.

Yeah, the stickers lying around the map and all the ? blocks respawn whenever you leave an area, so after every level, if I need to, I just go back to the main hub town to grab what I need. I often find I have too many stickers to hold, you only start off with 2 pages in your sticker album to hold them with, and new pages are a welcome blessing.

Right, no partners either, forgot that, adding to the OP.

Not sure if you're leaving one out intentionally or not.

The story's standard Mario fare, Bowser has kidnapped Princess Peach and you must collect the MacGuffins in order to reach Bowser and save the princess.

As for the writing, I just experienced a few Parakoopas divebombing me while speaking like fighter pilots with some catchy rock music in the background, so there's that. Also, at one point the town plaza is rolled up, and one Toad refers to the town as being "burritoed", and the action of unrolling it as "un-burritoing" the town. I'm liking everything so far.

EDIT: Okay, got a good line. I had to make my way to the tip of the tongue on this Yoshi sphinx, and we meet Kamek who's surprised we trekked all the way up to it. Then Kersti, the crown partner, says, "I'd say what's on the tip of my tongue, but I'm too much of a lady!" Also, Kersti calls Kamek a hipster and treats him as such.

Another thing, I really like the battle system in that it requires strategy at times, and there's no shortage of difficulty.

First boss: 90 HP
Second boss: 300 HP

I've seen bits and pieces of the game and it looks awesome the fact that you don't have any partners is kinda disappointing but it looks amazing but i don't think it will be better than Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door that in my opinion is the best but we will wait and see until i play it.

Yes, I'm leaving the first one out because I've never played it. Partly because...

I though we had the Mario RPGs so we didn't have to deal with this stuff :(

Okay, that's good, but it seems more Mario & Luigi than Paper Mario, if you get what I mean. Well, I'll probably pick it up, but I'll have to (re)buy a 3DS first. Almost makes me happy there's no reason for me to buy a Wii U yet.

I'm finding it a little tedious how on bosses, Whats-her-face-Crown(I never remember Her name off the top of my head), tells me I should have used "better" stickers bcause it would be more efficient.
Look, game, I don't want to use all my special ones(fan, scissors, etc) all at once, because I don't want to have go out of my way to grab each and every item again.
I mean, they give you an abundance of random stickers everywhere, so why not use a bunch? O,o

THAAAANK YOU

That was annoying as hell. I did it that way cause the game throws all this stuff at me and I don't wanna have to keep getting and making Special Stickers. D<

No, seriously, regular Stickers can do like 5-10-ish damage per use, and using multiple in a turn end up like 10-20-ish.
And they give you such an abundance of these, too xD

So really, them telling you that you could be more efficient is just silly, when its only a matter of lining up slot reels.

I really enjoyed the final level of World 4. A minecart-centric level with this music, and the boss is a beefed up Mr. Blizzard, of all things.

Its funny, Im venturing that world right now. That Cheep Cheep was such a pain.
No, really, I skipped World 2 all together and decided to go after that cake.

Well, I've beaten the game now. The final battle was a real heartwrencher at one point, but thankfully the MacGuffins came to the rescue in the end. Also, with 400 HP that regens between each phase of the fight, I challenge anyone to fight Bowser without using the tricks for each section. (Heck, fighting any of the bosses without using the tricks is probably extremely tough.)

I do find it hilarious during the final cutscene Bowser tried to grab the Sticker Star again.

Also, I found all of Luigi's hiding places, yay. I'm debating whether or not I want to go back and do all the achieves.

Except this time, Bowser gets yelled at.
No, really Bowser, Keresti(w/e) will end you.

Copypasted 2 of them from GameFAQs:
Get a Perfect Bonus (win without getting hit) in 500 or more battles.

Get three symbols matched on the Battle Spinner slots 50 times.
Hurray for tediousness! =D
