Just Crouton
Mr. Freeze from Batman TAS.[s]..at least until the New Adventures where they threw all that out and reintroduced him as a nut that wants to destroy everything.[/s]
Fusion X. Denver
First one that comes to mind is Count Bleck. Another reason everyone should play Super Paper Mario.
Merci
Kyubey. Definitely Kyubey. Come on girls, he's just trying to prevent the heat death of the universe by harvesting the energy you generate once your witch form is slain. Just help him meet his quota, and YOU can help in saving the universe too. What's so bad about that? I mean sure, he doesn't feel emotions, but he's just doing his job. Great Unclean One: VK
I suppose in a way, Horus from 40k could be considered a sympathetic villain. He was just trying to make sure the God Emperor doesn't become worshiped as a god.
alienImperialism
Eh, some will argue that Ozy wasn't a villain at all, but that's for another thread, I think.
Have you even seen the anime? Kyubey was a stone cold boss, and with the way entropy works (and the direction that the universe is currently heading), it will soon vbe very hard if not outright impossible to meet that quota. By the way, this is the same character that sees emotions on an equal level as mental disorders. I could go on and on about him, but this is a sympathetic villains thread and not a Madoka thread, so...yeah. One could say that Hito-Shura of SMT: Nocturne is a sympathetic villain, if only because he meets the villain requirement by siding with Lucifer (but then, that depends on your stance in the series) and he does it for a noble purpose: to stop the endless cycles of life and destruction that YHVH causes and to put him in his place. Lucifer, too, to an extent; he's less Chaos and more pro-humanity/-freedom.
I have, plus all the Drama CDs and PSP game... nevermind that. In my opinion, he is sympathetic, but then again I guess it borders more onto the 'Well-Intentioned Extremist' trope, so forget it.
