The best and the worst legendary Pokemon?

Rather than Lugia as best and Entei as worst as seen in her answer above....

Kyogre/Arceus are probably the best. Arceus can set up a Swords Dance or two then spam Extremespeed where nothing but a dedicated wall resisting it or a ghost type will be able to take it. A wall probably couldn't take another Extremespeed, anyway.

Regigigas is absolutely terrible. You can run gimmicky Substitute sets, but it's not going to last very long if your opponent sees what you're trying to do, and even spamming Substitute with Leftovers wouldn't keep it too alive if the opponent has anything that can do damage like Salamence/Terrakion/Garchomp/Gyarados and even Deoxys-D, in my case. If you'd rather stay true to tiers, I'd like to see a near-dead Regigigas take Drain Punch from Gurdurr after a few Substitutes.

These are the best and worst from Generation 4 IMO and only the ones I owned.

Best - Giratina Origin Forme (Because Pokemon Platinum was the first game that I bought myself).
Worst- Heatran.

Best Looking - Shaymin Sky Forme is cool, but I guess Giratina Origin Forme.
Worst Looking - Dialga, wtf is up with that thing out of its head.

In battling, idk which ones are good I never really focused on that.

You really ought to wonder how Groudon is the only Hoenn legendary to not have starred in a movie.
Best: Darkrai, closely followed by Giratina.
Worst: ARCEUS. A. freaking. goat. with. a. bad. movie, uninteresting design… Bleh.
Kyurem would also like to burn all Gen 5 haters to a crisp. Or freeze them to a popsicle.

Well technically Groundon wasn't in a movie. Although a giant evil clone of Groudon that came from his DNA was in a movie so you can kinda say that it was.

Edit: Now Kyogre is one that I don't believe has been in a movie. Correct me if I'm wrong

Kyogre was in the Manaphy movie, rite?

And Groudon was in a movie in the same way Entei was in one, that being: Kinda sorta.

I sincerely hope you're talking about design.

To me, going by usability in the metagame, best would probably be Lugia and worst would be Entei.

Yup. But Entei still has it's speed going up for him and Heatran's weak against Earthquake, nuff said.

Forgot that Entei in the movie was a fake one. The only legendary pokemon that was robbed of a movie is Ho-Oh.

I think ur right. And is Entei even a real pokemon, cause if u remember, he was originally a figment of the little girls imagination that took form a fathering pokemon created by the unknown. **In the movie pokemon 2000

I guess that x4 weakness to Ice makes Garchomp, Dragonite, and Salamance bad. I guess a x4 weakness to Rock makes Volcarona bad. Both of these are common attacking types, just like Earthquake. All of those see play in OU.

Entei also has to rely on Physical Fire attacks, which isn't good half the time, and it's not exactly the most bulky thing ever. It's outclassed by any of the other Legendary Beasts and /Arcanine/. The fact that if you want to use it's Event Moves, which make it what it is for the most part, you HAVE to use an Adamant Nature isn't exactly good either.

Heatran is amazing. The Ground Weakness is what you use the Air Balloon for, or you just don't send it out against that particular pokemon. It has Lava Plume, which is a great move, it can set up Stealth Rock or act as a Phazer, it comes with Toxic and Protect so it can even attempt to Toxic Stall. It also has an offensive set, but I prefer Specially Defensive Heatran.

Usability
Best: Probably Kyogre. The Drizzle gives it an immediate boost to its STAB moves, and it can learn Thunder, meaning its got a 100% hit rate, 120 base damage move already.
Worst: Entei is pretty much useless, and Phione is a crappier Manaphy, but Regigigas has to take this. Unless you're doing Tag with something like Worry Seed, it's gonna take too long to do anything good.

Appearance/Design
Best: I honestly love Suicune, mainly because Crystal was my first Pokémon game. However, Lugia does come a close second.
Worst: Keldeo or Phione, for being too loveydoveycutesycrappy. Also, while Normal Kyurem doesn't look too bad, the White/Black Kyurems are appalling to me.

Personal Bias
Best: The Gen 2/Johto Legendaries. Because of that series being my first set of games. And I find them awesome.
Worst: Gen 5, because I'm not a massive fan of the new series. Not a Gen 5 hater; just not a massive fan.
