Marisa Kirisame-ze
I know you can't really make mixtapes anymore because tape recorders are long gone, but I still call my mix on my CDs 'mixtapes', so bear with me. When my friends got their licenses, they'd always go on about how there's never any good music on the radio, so I used to make CDs for them of all different mixes that I thought they'd like when the radio doesn't cut it. It became this huge success and eventually my friends told more people about it and people I barely even know now ask for mixes. It's become such a huge thing at my school now where today, a large group of my friends and I put together a Thanksgiving gift exchange of mixtapes, where we all made our own disc, put them all into a bag, and got each other's mixes at random. So I'm wondering if any of you still make mixtapes or burn discs or even use CDs, since I know everything's downloadable online now and the use of all of this is lessening. I just thought it's such a nice thing to bring back. My friends and I are really having a great time making different playlists for each other on CDs. So, discuss. .Rai
Professionally, a lot of artists still make mix tapes. Notably rap artists. For. Them though, it just becomes a jumble of random songs they've done. I've never tried making playlist mixtapes myself but it sounds like a great idea. Cin
I used to make mixtapes both as casettes and cds. I'd managed to grab a listen in the car, but because I have a massive sorting of my music going on I can't really make one. My sister does all the time now she drives. Rapidfire
I make instant mixes on my phone, and every now and then I choose a bunch of amazing tracks from different artists and put it on one CD. Sadly I have not had a lot of time to do that. But I plan on, maybe over thanksgiving.
