Just Crouton
Cause I'm lazy. Yu-Gi-Oh! Asylum A screenplay. Playing on the absurd premise of GX, Seto Kaiba buys an asylum and turns it into a place where the patients become master duelists. It's a slice of life story about the patients and them being crazy. They duel at tables with Solid Vision like the manga Duelist Kingdom, and they come up with weird, unique ways to make the game more fun. It disregards the main universe in that Synchros/Xyzs are used. [Unnamed Choose-Your-Own-Adventure] Some people livestream an old survival horror game (like Clock Tower), and reader picks paths for the player to go from multiple choices. The right choices are save points, and moving on in the story, while wrong choices send the reader back to the last save point/beginning of the book. Some choices result in a different ending. It would be complex, with lots of branching choices. Master Edition Yu-Gi-Oh! A screenplay of the original series rewritten in a Frank Miller style, where Atem is an abusive jerk who cheats with his powers while Yugi watches in horror. Johan Liebert
i like only the second one because it's original...
Not-so-Radiant Arin
Did you ever finish the Machismo story? Because you should totally finish that if you haven't already, Anyways, more YGO crap cluttering our delightful Creative Writing Forum is inexcusable. I like the second idea; primarily, something of this caliber can be done, but frankly, there's a lot of work to put into it for not a lot of good results. Catterjune
I rather like the second one. Sounds possibly funny. I'd probably drop the "screenplay" bit. And the part about Kaiba. I'd love to read a story where the protagonist, the villain and everyone else were crazy and assumed their duels had influence on the fate of the world when in fact they... didn't. Sounds like fun.
I rather like the second one. Sounds possibly funny.
I'm probably going to literally map out the story and choices then. Merci
I like the second idea. I like it so much in fact, that I'm going to rip it off sometime in the future.
Umbra
Branching stories means an awful lot of content to write, but if you can pull it off, it'd be splendid.

If you intend to write for every choice, it might be rather difficult. The way we wrote branching stories on GameFAQS was we wrote them out then ended it with an a, b, or c choice. Next couple posters say what their choice was. That wins, and the story continues. But again, IDK how you're gonna write this thing, but the title suggests you won't. Phantom Roxas
Yeah, the asylum story sounds great, at least in concept. I'd like to see how the various inmates are portrayed, although I'm curious how you'll make us care about the. The way of writing the CYOA sounds rather complex, but I do want to see what could result form it. That third story... Frank Miller? Really? At this point, I'd expect Atem to be killing people while Yugi narrates half the story about the terrible thinks Atem is doing in overly dramatic prose, with all the female characters overly sexualized, although this wouldn't be a comic book. I guess if this was something like The Dark Knight Returns? I've never read it, but I'm under that impression that it's one of Frank Miller's best work.
