Blake
So, I clicked on my profile, and the significance of havign 820 rep just hit me despite seeing it multiple times today. Now my mind is full of memories and "wow, I am a derp for missing that"... And then I wonder how many people actually get the significance of 820, out of those who are currently active. My how the times change... Anyways, discuss Nostalgia.
CMRenji
It's funny because I'm feeling nostalgic about the Nostalgia thread I posted here in General many months ago. Thar
The only drug I need. Man, how I miss the 90s and early 2000s. The music, the movies, the video games, the...EVERYTHING.
Fusion X. Denver
Nostalgia's my favorite pastime. Or one of them at least. Been having Harry Potter fever lately, started playing Pokemon again, actually started reading books again, got caught up watching some Teen Titans footage yesterday, I'm always flashing back to something and at the end of the day, I'm thankful for the internet for letting me be able to nostalgia dive more than anything. Thar
I tend to dive into nostalgic music seshes on Youtube for hours at a time. Some of the stuff I find myself listening too make my face red, it's so memorable.
Gαr
Nostalgia freak right here. Having a small gap between now and back then, things aren't as nostalgic as they are to me than to you guys, but they still make my heart ache with the memories. This Account is Unplayable
Honestly not much of a nostalgia-freak like some people are. I'm more of the person that welcomes new things and prefer change. That said, I do like seeing things that I know from years back on occasion, but people blow up nostalgia like it's the best thing ever, when I really think it's not and it's a very poor way to look at anything. Cin
Picking up some of the episodes of cartoons or even programs I watched when I was child makes me feel Nostalgic, like Sharky and George, used to love that haven't watched more than 2 episodes since it finished, but I have alot to watch, also Count Duckula. Good days, when life was easy and worry was over pointless things.
Shradow
Well, within a week of each other I made this, this, this, and this. Also, one day at Wal-Mart, at the bargain dvd bin, I saw a copy of Iron Giant for $5, so I immediately grabbed onto it and held it like a precious newborn. Plenty of good music, but probably the most bad music I have ever heard in a long, long time. I try not to be nostalgic, even though it's fun. I tend to escape into a little bubble of my past. Relaxing, but I'd prefer to concentrate on my future.
Alice Moonflowyr
I get Yugioh nostalgia sometimes. Back in da good old days when if you summoned BEWD, you won. Also, way, way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back with those good old Gameboy Color pokemon games. *sigh* Off to go play Pokemon Crystal on my Gameboy Color Emulator! Fusion X. Denver
Actually the timing of this topic's funny because it was on this day five years ago that my grandpa passed away, which was the first real sense of loss I've ever felt. But he's been on my mind all day and it's nice remembering the good times with him.
Grunt Issun
Nostalgia is overrated. I don't experience nostalgia, due to the fact that I don't forget about something and rediscover it. If, for example, I find a game worth playing, I play it a lot, and usually don't stop playing it. If it's not worth playing, I play it once, then never again. I also don't let nostalgia cloud my vision. Yes Pokemon Blue was my first Pokemon game. No it's not the best. Not by a long shot.
Desu the Blue Nerd
Since Mako bought Custom Robo for the game cube he's been talking to me about it even though it isn't a game I've played in years. Dat nostalgia. <3 And he got Gotcha Force too but he doesn't seem to care for it as much. ;_;
Great Unclean One: VK
I try not to remember the past too much. I used to be skinny, trap like figure, quick, full of energy, innocent and not aware of indecent stuff like sex, and full of hope. Now I'm fat, slightly bitter, sexually deprived, sluggish, and a manipulative bastard to people who I hate. Each time I look back at my old self, I wonder if it's not too late to try and change and go back. f***, you guys made me depressed now. Gonna go look at ponies and plastic crack. ?someone?
Yin's avatar is making me nostalgic about my days in Showcase in 2009. Another thing to discuss: can you be nostalgic about an era you never lived in?
According to me (and I am never wrong), yes. I am not nostalgic, per se, but I am immersed in the pop culture and style of a certain decade or two. Kind of a combination. I have a feeling, when I'm old, I'll look back and think ahh yes, the 80's, those were the days. Everything was unintentionally gay, TV writers were constantly on crack, and I did not exist. Such a fun time. Oh well, back to 99Luftballons on my Walkman.
Makο
...Is it bad that I looked at the cardmaker and was hit by a blast of ole YCM nostalgia since I haven't looked at it in so long? I feel like it's a bad thing.
