Well, I tend to go by an 'if it has music, it fits in here' concept and this section needs more stuff, more activity, more everything.


So this showed up in my news feed yesterday and if put into the context of K-Pop/South Korea, it's pretty 'serious' for the music industry over there.

The interesting part in here? There is none. However, what FOLLOWS is usually what makes me like and dislike the K-Pop fandom.

Oh well, I’m aware that on a scale between Janet Jackson's nipslip and Rihanna escapades, this is nothing. But for Korean pop culture, which is known for being conservative compared to the Western one, it's pretty damn scandalous. Especially when the girl involved is 'Nation’s Little Sister' and the guy is part of the…at least 2nd or 3rd most popular mangroup there. Also there was a pretty large age gap or something.

But here’s why: Most idols are under a 'dating ban' and the girl's image is completely built around being this pure and innocent young girl. So whether they ever did anything or not, the image itself is pretty much a hammer for the idol industry there (I said idol industry, a large part of Korea doesn't care about K-Pop and pretty plastic idols at all). 'Scandals' like this often mean that someone's career is going to decline and that's what people are speculating here.
