Darth Revan of the Sith

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the first in a long franchise of television shows by Haim Saban and previously owned by Disney. Power Rangers is based off of the 16th series of the Super Sentai Japanese series and most of the fight scenes and villain scenes are stock footage taken from the Japanese show and dubbed over in English. This specific series ran for three seasons from 1993-1995 and was extremely popular at the time of it's release, despite controversy raised by parents that the television show was "Too violent" for children. Starting in 2010, a re-version of the original series was broadcast on ABC Kids with a brand new logo. Discuss the original American version of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and it's re-version in 2010. DO NOT discuss any other Power Rangers series other than these two. The reason why I am saying this is because there are so many different Power Rangers series that I don't need a clusterf*ck of post's talking about different series at the same time. And since I decided to watch Power Rangers over again from the beginning (for nostalgic purposes), it seemed fitting to start a topic specific to THIS series. So please, just talk about these two. ALSO! You may discuss the two movies as well.
Just Crouton
One of the best TV franchises ever. MMPR is a little overrated compared to later seasons, but still really good. The second season expanded the show by introducing American-made, Ranger fights as a regular thing, while the third season took it further, with 2 American-made Megazord battles early in the season (the second fight mixed in Sentai footage here and there), allowing more American-made footage to be used in later, post-MMPR seasons. Season 3 was also the first serialized Power Rangers season, with story arc after story arc setting up for Zeo. While it's not the best series, MMPR in 3 seasons set up what would make Zeo onwards great, despite a few bumps along the way... One of my pet peeves is how Tommy, after becoming the White Ranger, felt a little forced on the viewer since he pretty much became the star of the show as the Green Ranger. The movies were okay. The first movie's version of the Mighty Morphin theme is the best version of song, and Turbo did an okay job setting up for an inferior season (though, no longer the worst.)
So please, just talk about these two.
You should probably also edit the OP to say "no Sentai talk either." EDIT: Also, I wish the Ninja Ranger vs. Tenga fights were as good as the Putty fights in season 1.
I edited the title to contain such. I truly have admired Tommy since I was a child. He was one of my favorite rangers when he was green and was honestly the best actor of the series. He applied so much emotion to everything he did in the series and I think that is why he is so admired. Also the first movie was the SH*T! Ivan Ooze is one of my favorite villains and he is so badass. Anybody remember Skull and Bulk? Those guys were hilarious.

Probably one the best parts, was them imagining themselves as Power Rangers, and then actually driving the Megazord. Its short, gives us an idea for what concept would be, and just overall lulzy. Toffee.
Minor Villain.... Hmmm... As much as I would love to say Goldar, I would probably go with that Piranha-Head guy(I forget his actual name). It was actually neat how he could freeze the Zords, mid-transformation sequence, and render the Rangers useless in 1 fowl swoop. Was pretty badass, as far as minor-monsters go. Paul Freeman is a great actor and the character himself is comedic and scary.

Flame Dragon
Power Ranger's was super campy from what I saw of the eps when they were rerunning them. Still, when I was a kid they were glorious. Shame Dairanger didn't get brought over for the second season and all we got was the white ranger. Also, funny how no one questioned Ninjaman was in the Power Rangers while the Alien Rangers had a whole ninja thing going on. Also, this http://thatguywithth...ks/linkara/hopr

It was from Dairanger. Though, I really wish in Season 3 that they had redesigned the helmets for the ninja powers (animal? ninja helmet?) and gave the White Ranger suit a morpher buckle and a falcon Saba. By that point, they only used American footage for Ranger fights. Also, dat pink Shogun Megazord arm during the Shogun Ultrazord stock footage. SailMasterCard
Mighty Morphin (until season 3) was for me the favorite series all the way. Not only because Power Rangers was like the biggest part of my childhood and I grew up with it, but because it was the first series. I remember how me and my brother were fighting on who would get the Jason and who would get the Tommy toys (as in miniatures) and how I have been frantically seeking for the Dragonzord toy but they never sold it around my city. Downloaded the first few seasons a few weeks ago, definitely gonna rewatch them again!
