Nathanael D. Striker Posted November 20, 2012 Report Share Posted November 20, 2012 You know that it was late when I posted that, right. I agree that prohibition succeeded what it was supposed to do. The prohibitionists acknowledged this before it was repealed. However, the bad side effects that came with prohibition outweighed the good that it produced. To tie this into marijuana, the federal government spends a lot of money fighting the war on drugs. Our prisons are filled with those who possessed and selled marijuana and other drugs; taking away space that should go to the murders and rapists of the world. Speaking of murder, a lot of it happens as gangs fight to maintain what ever profits they get. What I'm saying is this: the bad of prohibition outweighs the good.
