So, playing TF2 and see my twitter has over 20 messages. Turns own Disney owns all lucas properties.

They are also making a episode 7, coming out in 2015.

Personally, don't care about the movie. More fear comes from the wave of lawyers.

How could you use Disney and not killing a franchise in the same sentence?

First things first Disney is a company which is directly linked to Children so no doubt the whole Star Wars thing will be toned down to a cutsie level so they don't butt hurt mothers, secondly they always use over the top effects whenever they get the chance, thirdly they will probably be animated to reduce spending because Disney is all for 'dem profits.

But meh, I personally see Disney ruining Star Wars.

I can think of many adult oriented Movies.
Pirates of the Caribbean, John Carter etc.

Why would lucas sell away the rights to his money maker?, the ONE thing that more or less that has been feeding him/clothing him/paying his ullities/etc. for the last 15-30 or so years?

Dinsey will still have to pay royalities to him but I do not think it will be enough to keep up with his lifestyle he is acustomed to .....

This is proof to Lucas ass kissers that he f***ing never cared for us when Episode 6 hit. I hope Disney won't tone down Star Wars. Clone Wars was bad but the 2004 tv series was great, unlike the s*** fest that is the current tv series.

Honestly, they should return to that.

I honestly liked how Grievous was a badass who wanted revenge on the Republic for letting his people get slaughtered by Jedis and enslaved.

Carter was a HUGE flop. So, um yea.....

Anyway, I highly doubt they will tone down Star Wars. Again, they haven't done anything with Marvel.

Disney may be a children's thing, but Star Wars wont be toned down, I bet. It's on a similar scale to Pirates of the Carribean, probably more child friendly, and Disney did save the Marvel franchise with the new films. I wouldn't be that ruined.

Possible fear over the animation thing, but not over the effects thing. Again, Pirates of Carribean. Not really that over the top. And Episode III was quite over the top anyway.

Y'know, I've only seen you post a couple of times, but I have a feeling you're a big douche. You cant really say 'Thug life' while you're sitting at home on a Yugioh website.
And 'know the ledge' and 'wise the dome' sounds like something someone without Knowledge or Wisdom would say. And the ignorance you've displayed and the insults you've sprayed make you seem more like an idiot.
Also, at least attempt to speak proper english please. Be polite, respectful and understandable; rather than attempting to start a flame war.

Let me make myself clear. If I ever see something like this in my section again you will take a month ban.

Are you guys actually giving this any thought?

The Avengers is owned by Disney. That was good. They also own the rights to Pixar, and almost all of their movies are golden. Disney's own recent movies, like Tangled or whatever, have been pretty good.

They're not 4kids, and they can't ruin Star Wars more than it already has been.

At first I was skeptical, then I was like, "Oh wait, it's freaking Disney, it'll be fine." Now, whether or not it'll be good as the original trilogy we'll have to wait and see, but I'm sure they can make something better than Episodes I-III.

I'm just wondering about things like casting. Obviously guys like Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford can't reprise their roles unless there's a big time skip and their characters become less than prominent (I mean, unless they want old people protagonists).

Also, this makes Princess Leia the new Disney princess, I think.

DaWeirdGuy: Let's check our stats for a sec. I haven't flamed ANYONE here and you called me "a big douche" and an idiot in the same post that you're moralizing me for "trying to start a flame war". Hypocrisy has no more of a place on a Yu-Gi-Oh! forum than the philosophies of Tupac Shakur.

To rephrase myself in a manner my divine superiors might understand better, both Lucasfilm and Disney serve as dubious guides of moral character for children and a vast pool of alternatives exist that are both more intellectually stimulating and ripe with far more gripping plots, which begs the question of why we're wasting our time with either. I don't care how ignorant I seem to you, DaWeirdGuy, because my use of colloquial language isn't nearly so problematic as your fearful prejudice. It's not "improper English" that I employ, it's diction with subtle differences interwoven in such a way as to express messages in a less time-consuming manner with greater emphasis.

Legend Zero: Okay, but it would be more becoming of someone in your position to explain why my post was so inappropriate in a forum serving the same demographics as popular media rife with similar diction and why the characteristics that made my post so inappropriate are of so much more importance than freedom of speech. Failing that, feel bad about yourself for a lack of judgment in making the forum a better place.

Episode VII would begin roughly 20 (or perhaps 30 or 40) years after the end of Return of the Jedi (according to Lucas in 1980 and 1982).
The key actors, Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker, Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, would appear, in their 60s or 70s (Lucas in 1983).

Lucas initially planned for them to have aged a bit, before scrapping it.

Nice of you to rephrase yourself. But I still think that the approach you took wasn't exactly the most polite nor respectful, and considering that you could've just avoided the topic and ignored it, for a negative and in no way constructive opinion such as the one you expressed earlier would've been better of not being expressed, for the mere reason that it just causes insult to the companies and to the fans of the franchises. Had you displayed a more...eloquent and constructive opinion such as the one you have just displayed, it would've been acceptable and would've have had much more of an impact than the rather ignorant and aggressive tone you used before.

However, I still fail to see how Disney and LucasFilms are dubious moral guides; especially when compared to many other franchises and media companies. And I dont think you exactly have a right to say, without hypocrisy, anything about moral guides with the previous post. Perhaps many other stories are more intellectually stimulating or are better written, but Disney still remains the top grossing film company so it must be doing something right, and Lucasfilms retains a large cult following and is incredibly popular; Star Wars is one of the most recognisable and best selling movie serie of all time.

As for how you worded it, it may be less time consuming, but it is also much more aggressive and less likely to gain you any respect nor any agreement; it will just make you seem like, as I said, a douche.

As for what you are saying to Legend, I feel like I should visit that as well: "Like Spam, "trolling" has many defintions and comes in many forms. Posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking other users into a desired emotional response and disrupting normal, civil, on-topic discussion is just one definition of trolling on YCM. Essentially, if you are told by a moderator that you are trolling, you must cease that behaviour." -YCM rules thread.
There's your rules against what you posted. Legend made a perfectly valid comment on your post.

Freedom of Speech is also limited; no-one really has freedom of speech and it is not always beneficial. And the forum does not generally serve as large a demographic as popular media; the forum is primarily aimed at young teens. As such, while they probably do know the language you used, it is advisable not to use it.
