I go for long range, especially with that Hurricane gear. Power is good, but you need speed as well, less time recovering between attacks the better. By the way, Zyra's basic, is it ranged or melee?

You know if you like the Hurricane thingy so much Try it in something like Varus, Caitlyn or Teemo

Astro, Runaan's Hurricane only works with champs like Varus and Twitch, who spread blight and poison for some burst. Teemo can also use it pretty well. TF and Kennen can use it so Stacked Deck and Electrical Surge can stack up faster, but they aren't really dps champs. And when Jinx has Fishbones, the bolts explode on hit. Too few people can actually use Hurricane effectively, so don't get it on everyone. It might seem like a good item, but it really isn't for most champs. That said, Runaan Varus is pretty fun if you can land your abilities.

I'm well aware it's for ranged. For champs like Garen, Drayven, or Blitzkrank, it's useless since they're melee.

So the more I thought about it, the more Graves feels really similiar to Lucian.

Buckshot is really similiar to Piercing Light, in the way it's a high damage harass tool that scales amazingly with AD. Neither falls off if it hits more than one target, so you can not mind enemy miions.

Smoke Screen does almost the same job as Ardent Blaze if it goes for catching up to people, plus it has some extra utility, and is even better for disengages. Though it will never do any significant damage unlike Lucian's.

Quickdraw and Relentless Pursuit are both short range dashes, however, Graves can have his up more often and it provides a very meaningful AS steroid, allowing you to build pure AD early on. Lucian's has more utility and can go up to 0 mana wise.

Collateral Damage is a much better execute ultimate than Lucian's The Culling, though there is the fact that Lucian's was never meant to be an execute, but an autoattack extension. Lucian does the waveclear job better too, but that balances out since Graves's Q is better than Lucian's at that.

Basically, both are pretty similiar characters, however, Graves is much more on the offensive side due to his huge burst and innate tankyness thanks to his passive, which will be up all the time really. Lucian does a much better job at kiting, and his damage really adds up in extended fights thanks to Lightslinger.

All your points are valid and well-spoken, coming from a Lucian and Graves player. Except...

Is Graves better than Lucian?

I think adding this was a little unnecessary, since comparing them is a bit antithetical. As said through your own analysis, they both play similar, but for very different situations, so comparing which is "better" is like comparing Twitch to Tristana just 'cause they both got a lot of range and AS options.

ALSO

I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO KEEP TRACK OF LCS OR ALL STARS

SOMEONE GIVE ME THE SITREP

I mean they have a reason to build it. With Varus's W, his attacks spread blight, which when hit with another ability, deal bonus damage, Twitch has his poison, which when stacked up can make his E hurt a lot. Cait's passive makes every 8th basic attack deal bonus damage and the Runaan bolts count for the stacks, and Teemo just scales off attack speed and AP so it's a decent item for him. Besides that, if you're ever in a 1v1, Runaan won't give you anything other than attack speed whereas Shiv would get you crit and the bonus magic damage.

I haven't really been able to keep track either because of studying but here is what I know:

LCS - F*ckton of roster swaps and other drama, too many things to list.

Allstars - Neither NA or EU did that good, OMG better than people expected, facing SKT later today in the finals.

@Welche: I agree, Cali is such a god holy crap.
