To celebrate Halloween, the goal of this contest is to create three cards: 1 Effect monster 1 Spell card 1 Trap card The Effect monster above [u]cannot[/u] be Fusion, or Synchro. Also, [i][b]no Xyzs[/b][/i] for this contest. All three will be graded separately, and as a whole. The theme of the contest is simply something to suit the season of Halloween, something 'scary', whether anime, manga, music, movie, game, books, meme, whatever. When you enter, list whatever you'll be using, and that will be your theme for the contest. The contest ends at 11:59pm October 31st, EST, with Halloween, and the entry fee is 10 points. I'll be judging of course, though I have two slots for now, for other judges. As the inspiration for the contest with Hell's Highway, trevorw31 can join at no cost, or can be one of two extra judges for this contest. [spoiler=Prizes] 1st Place: 40 points 2nd Place: 20 points 3rd Place: 10 points[/spoiler] [spoiler=Grading] Graphic 20/100 (High quality images will get higher points, meaning no text, websites, distortion, etc...) OCG 5/100 (Marked low because I have trouble keeping up with OCG myself, and it isn't as central to the idea of the contest) Theme 30/100 (Adhering to your theme, for example, if Slender Man has an effect related to Banishing I might give it more points than if his effect has to do with increasing ATK or DEF) Usable 20/100 (Marked lower because I have to give this genre a bit of flexibility to keep them faithful, but you'll get scored higher for still being able to run it in the real world) Synergy 25/100 (How well all of your cards support each other)[/spoiler] [spoiler=Examples] H. [/spoiler] [spoiler=Bonus] Since this is Halloween, I also have a trick [i]and[/i] a treat. Completing this project instead of the original 3 cards will result in a considerable boost to judging, for sheer effort if nothing else, though it doesn't guarantee a win, keep in mind. The project is to create the following cards, in the theme you picked: 3 Effect monsters 1 Fusion monster 1 Synchro monster 2 Spell cards 1 Equip Spell card 1 Field Spell card 2 Trap cards 1 Counter Trap card 1 Continuous Trap card You must create all of the above. The Fusion and Sychro monsters are 1 each, and you can create only 1 of each, same for the Equip/Field Spell, and Counter/Continuous Trap cards. The Effect monsters can be anything else - such as Gemini, Spirit, even Toon - as long as they're Effect monsters, and the Spell/Trap cards can be of any kind (submitting 1 Equip Spell and 3 Field Spells would be permitted, for example). And yes, the total is 13, appropriate for Halloween I thought. Keep in mind that this DOES NOT guarantee you'll win, one of the original 3 card sets might still win if they're well done.[/spoiler] And with that, Happy Halloween! I'm assuming you mean to ask whether you can use cards that aren't based on anything pre-existing, right? And yes, you can basically ignore the first one if you want, that one is just a minimum. At least now I have a little more experience with this. @AixDavis: I believe the answer to that is no. Would you mind sending me one card as an example in a PM, to make sure I understand?
