In Ni no Kuni, Drippy says Oliver may be able to find his mother, Arie. [/size][/font][font=sans-serif][size=3]Using the newfound power of magic, Oliver and Drippy venture into Ni no Kuni. There, he befriends Maru, Gyro, and other alternative versions of people (and animals) he knows.[/size][/font] [font=sans-serif][size=3]The DS version is known as [i]Ni no Kuni: The Jet-Black Mage. [/i][/size][/font][font=sans-serif][size=3]As Oliver, the player takes part in battles using the magic book given to him by Drippy. The magic book contains various spells that are activated using drawings with the stylus. During battles, players can arrange their characters anywhere on the bottom screen to implement various tactics. For example, a character that can block certain attacks can be placed in front of the others to shield them.[/size][/font][font=sans-serif][size=3]The game also includes a book that is supposed to represent the magic book from the game and is required to play the game.[/size][/font][font=sans-serif][size=3] In it players can find a bestriay, [/size][/font][font=sans-serif][size=3]short stories that offer game hints and other information to which the game will refer. (The work that would be involved with translating the book is the reason the DS version doesn't have an English release.)[/size][/font] [font=sans-serif][size=3]The PS3 version, known as [i]Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch[/i], was developed seperately from [i]The Jet-Black Mage[/i] and only shares the same story axle, having completely different data, artwork, graphics, specifications and story developments. It also features animated cutscenes in the style of Ghibli's traditional animation style. I remember hearing that from the soon-to-be-late Nintendo Power, then forgetting about it since I heard no further news.
