Slender Vlog's

[Darth Revan of the Sith]

A Slender Vlog is a video horror series that is related to the popular Something Awful phenomenon Slender Man. There are already at least 30 Slender Series out since 2009. Some good, some bad. It all depends really. These Slender Series are extremely important to the Slender Universe and were one of the main reasons Slender Man got so popular other than 4chan.

A typical Slender Vlog uses the Blaire Witch Formula. It usually involves a character with a camera that records himself as he investigates certain phenomena revolving around Slender Man. Although many consider the concept of Slender Man to be cliche. The Slender Vlogs use many different ideas to make an entertaining series.

[i]MarbleHornets[/i]- The original Slender Vlog. Started in 2009, the series revolves around a young Jay as he investigates the disappearance of an old friend of his named Alex Kralie after he is given mysterious tapes of Alex's movie he was directing called Marble Hornets. This series was the first ever Slender Vlog made and epitomized the genre. It is still ongoing.
[b]EverymanHYBRID[/b]- A group of guys start a fitness Youtube series that goes wrong when their gag of putting fake Slender Men in their videos causes the real one to appear. The EverymanHYBRID group consists of friends Vince, Jeff, and Evan. This series is known for being the most interactive Slender Series mostly for it's use of Facebook, Twitter, and other things. Still ongoing.
[font=times new roman,times,serif]TribeTwelve[/font]- When his cousin Milo Asher commits suicide,a young Noah Maxwell begins investigating the cause of his death. This in turn attracts the attention of the Slender Man. TribeTwelve is known for it's long videos and extensive special effects other than most series. Still ongoing.
[font=courier new,courier,monospace]DarkHarvest00[/font]- When a young Chris is seeing paranormal things happen in his house, he begins recording himself with his camera and with help from his friend Alex. Eventually things take a turn for the worse and other than dealing with Slender Man, they must cope with a time traveling stalker, and a cult. Still ongoing.[/spoiler]

I have noticed there are very few Slendy Vlog fans here on YCM and so I am taking the liberty of showing them to the YCM community in the hopes they get recognition and hopefully become popular on this site. For those of you who would push it away just because it even involves Slender Man, I implore you! Don't! These are worth it, very well made, Youtube series that aren't just about Slender Man although he is the Absolute in the formula.

Well........I'v heard of EverymanHYBRID but I'v never actually watched it. I do watch MarbleHornets though which is pretty interesting. The other 2 I haven't heard of.

MarbleHornets, EverymanHYBRID, TribeTwelve, and DarkHarvest are known as the "Top Five" Slender Series of all of them.
The fifth one is MLAndersen0, however I don't know much about that series so I couldn't put a synopsis.

What I like about all of the Top Five is the differences they have among each other.
MarbleHornets is the only Slender Series so far to have an ACTUAL film director direct it. Troy Wagner, who plays Jay in the series, graduated with a film degree from college and he is a technically a legit film director.
EverymanHYBRID is so interactive with the fans it is ridiculous. Hands down.
TribeTwelve is known for it's heavy use of special effects, more than any other Slender Series.
DarkHarvest00 has been known to have so many cast members... Like seriously. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE IN THE DAMN THING!

Now specifically MarbleHornets, what I find interesting about them is their outright refusal to swear and their instinctive use of real events to culminate their story. Whether people know it or not, they were the ORIGINAL Slender Series and I hope when the finish that Troy Wagner directs a Hollywood movie. He is an astonishing director.
