Taylor Swift

God, she's so annoyingly influential. From being one of the main figureheads of modern pop music, to being 'the girl with too many boyfriends', it's kinda impossible to not know who she is. Her music is kinda love it-or-hate it thing: she's definitely one of the most effective songwriters when it comes to simple 'verse-chorus-bridge' structure.

Oh, and she's managing to utterly obliviate the charts. Gangnam Style was knocked off by her new single Begin Again in the first week of its release. One Direction's Live While We're Young was knocked off two weeks ago by her other new single Red. And finally, Adele managed to be knocked off with her new Bond theme tune with Taylor's new single, I Knew You Were Trouble. I'm pretty sure that's some sort of record.

Your thoughts on her?

I honestly love T Swift for her silly demeanor, amongst other things. So many people criticize her for not maturing as an artist, especially when she released "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", but that's just who she is. She's very in tune to her inner child, but she knows how to be professional and convey her thoughts and feelings the way she likes. I can completely understand why people wouldn't like her, especially when she's compared to other powerful, poetic artists, but she does add a whole new twist and genre to fun, emotional songs. And you can easily respect her as a person for wearing her heart on her sleeve and being so bright and uplifting in interviews, while being a role model for other kids.

I think she has a beautiful voice and I really appreciate her as an artist.

I absolutely agree with you. I love everything about T Swift the fact that she adds that fun twist of country, and pop, is just genius. The fact that she stands out so much and speaks all her feelings is amazing. ALL of her songs impact so many people, and it's amazing that she had such a creative mind. Even if she did not write some of her songs the way she expresses them is just utterly amazing. I Love everything about her not only is she a amazing artist but she is also part of "cover girl magazines". I just find it amazing of how involved she is with so many things. And I have to say how do you not admire her? She even made a song to speak up about bullying. I adore how amazing, and influential she is. Not only in her music but in the lives of everyday people. She really is one of the most amazing artists in today's music industry.

I absolutely despise Country and anything that is remotely similar. Yet I can stand Taylor Swift.

Also, I enjoy torturing my friend with her music. >:3

Honestly, I don't know why people describe her music as country... Just because she adds banjo here and there doesn't make it country, it's just pop with banjo.

Anyway, she got an average voice but her songs and lyrics are boring and stereotypical of what you expect from a very cliche genre. New album's ok though but she sounds like she's ripping off Eisley which is 10x better than her.
