I blame PSY (and Opal) for getting me obsessed with Korean pop music.

Don't think I'm ignorant. I've done my research on when she was in 4Minute and Wonder Girls.

But yeah, y'all might know her as the gal from Gangnam Style. I wouldn't be surprised if that's all you know, but yeah, she's her own thing.

And I heard she was making a comeback. I read that she was coming out with a new single called "Ice Cream." Dunno if that's supposed to be suggestive, but it should be a hit, nonetheless.

Yeah I'm actually happy, I love watching pointless music videos. The only reason I will watch that is cuz it's hilarious. I mean it's so weird. Especially the dancing. xD

Eh...I've planned to look up the video later. The ones people usually link me to are blocked in my country, but there are surely others, considering her popularity.=S

And I sort of agree that HyunA is better off in a group, be it the Wonder Girls or 4minute.
I'm not part of the jelly haters that roam on K-Pop forums, but I do have some trouble understanding the appeal of the girl. Her singing is terrible (listen to lives and versions without the back track >.<), she can't rap, but her dancing is quite good.

However, I applaud her for the success she got. I always think there are reasons why some artists are well-known, so yeah.

A few 4minute songs are good though and her solo work so far was listenable. It's just sad that her company is packaging her as a sex symbol while she's not really like that on variety shows.

That's what I love about her: On stage she's sexy and badass, while off stage she's bubbly and adorable~ <3

Parts I liked about the song/video:

- Certain parts were listenable and the background beat is nice. Actually the overall song isn't terrible, but get out with that rap ._.
- The colours (especially the pastel fest in the beginning) and clothes
- PSY (although he's like, everywhere now)


Do-not-want list:

- It'll be fairer to wait until a live version comes up, but we know the girl can't sing or rap ._. The singing parts were really nice (in the [i]studio[/i] version), but the rapping...no.
- "sexy swag" --> No.
- Choreo was alright. However somes moves will probably earn her some more HYUNA IS A SLUUUUT~ calls. Dunno, I always feel like the sexy stuff isn't coming naturally and it's the company that's pushing it down on her :/


Overall, it's in the same line of Bubble Pop. Meh.

I LARGELY preferred this:

It's HyunA with a singer from BEAST.
She mostly sing-talks in there, but that actually works for me.:3

Referring to the Ice Cream vid, at 1:09, it sounds like she's saying "make all my people chill" and, ironically, it makes SO much more sense than the actual translation.

..."like my dark skin." :/ I made a comment saying that she wasn't black.

"Chocolate ice cream" was in English. "Like my dark skin" was in Korean.

I'll admit that PSY opened the doors to K-Pop for me, but I honestly wish I'd known about it sooner.

Hell, I'd be happy with knowing 4minute before the debut of Volume Up, cause I swear, that's one of the best songs I've ever heard, especially with the English lyrics.
