Makο
Zombies are everywhere in today's media. Kinda hard to avoid them. So, at one point or another in your gaming life, you MUST have encountered them SOMEWHERE. Tell me about it. Did it leave an impact? Do you have fond memories of it? Negative? As for me, my first I can recall would be during Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. The Dark Troopers, man. Deep within the GFMC Hallway, these possessed beings lay still on the ground, only rising to attacking anyone and anything that intruded on their territory. As a kid...younger, anyway...these things terrified me. And, at the same time, mystified me. The combination of their theme (which kept me in a trance) and the knowledge of what they used to be left such a lasting impression. And, unlike all other enemies in most games I played at the time, I felt BAD for killing them, despite their zombified state and already being deceased. Perhaps that one cutscene at the landing site is what caused it. Or maybe those various logs I found when scanning the corpses of dead Troopers and reading about their lives on the planet. One way or another, favorite. Enemy. Ever. I actually went as far as to find a small glitch in the game. If I positioned myself at a certain point in a save station room, the door would close keeping me safe from them. However, I could still hear their theme as they didn't despawn and I was still close enough. I sat their for at least half an hour listening to it when I found that out. xD On a side note, I found a Dark Trooper Theme version in...G-Minor, apparantly. Makο
I was never much of a Zelda guy, always leaning towards Metroid, but when I encountered one during Super Smash Brothers Melee, my only thought was NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE

First zombie you encounter, funniest thing ever. xD He just sprints towards you, you shoot him, he dies straight away. It's so sad.
Agro
Technically speaking, World at War. But the best experience was Deadly Premonitions.
?someone?
Dead Head Fred. My god, that game is amazing, and funny as hell too, If hell was filled with wise-cracking reanimated detectives who've lost their head and replaced it with others. Plenty of zombies to punch in that game. And even a zombie-infested, radiation-covered town, too! Also, in line with OP's post, I really dig the vibe of the Prime series. Very lonely, mysterious, serene and yet creepy, too. My favourite is the first one. I've really got to find the the trilogy collection on Wii someday.
