Mr.Robot
Earlier this year CBS approach BBC after taking an interest in their modern take of the famous detective-Sherlock Holmes and wanted to remake an American version. At last, Moffat and the BBC's Sherlock producer say no and CBS when on and decide to recreate their own take. Jonny Lee Millar as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Watson. Watched 2 of the newly released episode and personally, Elementary's Sherlock reminds me of Patrick Jane from The Mentalist (Another crime drama with a former con artist who uses his observation skill to help the CBS agents while looking for the serial killer that killed his family.) Anyone saw or is interested in seeing this? Tell me who and what's your definitive version of Sherlock Holmes or Sherlock Holmes-like/inspired character do you like the most ? For me both Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch played an excellent Sherlock and probably how I would refer Sherlock Holmes to be but personal favorite would be Jeremy Brett. Mr.Robot
You lost me at female Watson.
That's not really the problem of the show and trust me, this wont be an issue at all. A female Watson's not as weird as a Scottish Terrier Watson from Sherlock Hound.
I have to say it's pretty good I'm enjoying the show so far
Sweet, a viewer.
Also Patrick Jane was an modern take on Sherlock Holmes.
Nah, Brunor Heller(creator of The Mentalist) said a several times that his inspiration for Patrick Jane was based on a character that he wanted to add into Rome(another show he co-created with HBO) but sadly the show was canceled so this character was only reference several times. The Sherlock-esque characteristic comes when people keep saying the show's a ripoff of Psych(A mentalist pretending to be a psychic, trying to help to police) which Bruno Heller then told everyone that Jane's more of a Sherlock figure compare to an anti-hero. Patrick Jane is also an INFJ, he observe but relied more on manipulation and institution while Sherlock's an INTJ, he observe and used logical reasoning and facts. Elementary's Sherlock is leaning more on to INFJ though.
So what do mean by saying that Patrick Jane's a modern sherlock then? I think I pretty much get what your saying, hence my reply.
