Sora1499
I accept your challenge. I have a whole collection of XYZ that fit your criteria. Also, 1v1 contests don't have entry fees. About rule #6, must the 3 cards specifically support one of these archetypes (as in they belomg to one of them?) or can they just be good tech for them? PrimeAceJohn
Haha, sorry bout that. This is my first time making this contest. Sora1499
Bah-bam! Mi entry, senor! Card #1: Inzektor Exa-Locust Background: I love Inzektors, but they got hit really hard in September. MEKA Dragon fixes that by giving it an insurance effect while retaining Atum's sick swarming abilities. MEKA also has more ATK, and it can attack during the turn in which its effect is used, so you don't have to rely on Gaia. Lore: 2 level 6 Dragon-Type monsters Once per turn, you can detach 1 Xyz material from this card and tribute 1 Dragon-Type monster you control: special summon 1 Dragon-Type monster from your hand or deck with the same level as the tributed monster's. gimmepie
I'll come back and give a detailed vote a little bit later. Both of these look quite good but without going into it to much it looks like Sora is going to get my vote when I post. Edit: Okay here it is. Johnhabib's cards Hacias - The first effects is fair. The second one seems like a little to much LP gain to me, especially with agents and their Shine Ball spamming. The last effect is alright also. It has good attack for a Rank 4. Taraxon - Again nothing special but it has an fair effect. Four hundred burn could be a little too much, again considering the spamming capabilities some archetypes have. 2800 seems to be a little too much attack for me for a Rank 5 with an effect... It needs to either be a higher rank, require 3 monsters or have a lower attack. Theracion - Its attack and defence are reasonable as is the first part of its effect I guess... Although it would be more balanced if it was only unaffected by spell and traps that target it (same for the above, just to a lesser degree for them). The second part of its effect is over powered especially when you consider it also has high attack and the ability to summon a level four monster once it has no materials. It leaves your opponent open to taking more than 4000 damage in a turn. It needs a serious balancing clause and even then may still be over powered. Unity - The best of the four. The effects involving a gain in attack or defence need to have an "until the end-phase clause". The DARK effect really should only be one card I think and for WIND you should pick one or the other. I also think this card would be more balanced if it couldn't attack directly without material, like Leviathan Dragon. Over all - You have a tendency to over-power your cards and/or not put a balancing restriction on powerful effects. The artwork matches the cards you made and your concepts are solid but your cards themselves need work. Overall I can give your cards about a 6/10. Sora's Cards Locust - Good attack and defence for a Rank 3 and an effect that really matches the original archetype. Considering the spamming power Inzektors already posses this on top may be a bit much but it looks relatively balanced to me. MEKA - Really well balanced and very useful support for Hieratics since you can tribute a monster who took a hit to its attack and replace it with a monster with its original attack points. Since Hieratics focus mainly on Xyz summoning said ability may not be as useful as you intended but it would likely come in handy. The insurance effect is quite fair whilst still helping out with those pesky bottomless trap holes. I don't know about it being a Dragon with art like that though... MEKA or not. Dark World - Fair attack for its rank. It has a hugely powerful effect that may be unbalanced though and the detaching only to send your monster to the graveyard makes no sense. It would have been far batter if it required detachment for the draw effect not the destruction and more balanced if said efefct only returned one or two banished monsters. Spear - Good attack for its rank and a great effect. Piercing + adding a card to your hand and a protective ability may be to much. It would be far better balanced if the first effect required a detachment also. Overall - Apart from MEKA you have used great artwork and in general your cards are well balanced and your cards match the archetype they are for and your intentions perfectly. Your last two are a bit OP though. I can give you an 8/10 though. My vote goes to Sora. Mostly because I feel Sora's cards are better supportively and because there were a few less balancing issues with Sora's cards. It was much closer than I thought originally in the end though so good job to you both.

SynchroTuner
My vote goes to sora. The 1st 3 of johnhabib's cards are pretty overpowered with their atks and effects combined. The last 1 is pretty good though. Since no restrictions were put on that, unity could by a Divine Attr.. Or you could make its attr. the attr. of its xyz materials but still the cards is pretty good. i would actually give it a 7/10. sora's cards are balanced nicely. Purupulus has a pretty high atk and Spiral Spear Striker has a somewhat broken effect. I would give you an 8/10. All the artworks from both of you are awesome. From me, I think it was a close margin but sora takes it away.
Love of Ghibli
Oh okay I'll end this with a vote to Sora... In my opinion it wasn't that close. John Hacias: Stat wise its fine but it should only be immune to spell while it has material otherwise its almost an immortal beater especially since Hyperion gets rid of back row pretty easily. Also the last effect really doesn't matter because the only level 2's you usually want are Herald and Earth and one is a hand trap the other gets its ability when its Normal summoned Taraxion: 2 level 5 fairies...yeah no fairy user would commit the resources to making that other wise Tiras would see a lot more play in fairy decks. Theracion: Nothing really wrong from a design point...just don't see the need to give up so many boss fairies for it. It would be nicer if it was just 2 Level 8 Fairies. Divine: The water effect was just overpowered Sora Exa-Locust: That art is legit! I hate this card with the bloodiest of all passions. It just promotes herp derp endless looping and spamming loatheness. Even more that what Inzectors hit in the first place. All this needs is dragonfly at any moment and its already pretty much game if there is no immediate counter. Does that work for inzektors, why yes it does. So really the fault is in inzektors and not really your card but still... no to this. Meka: I like it, I think giving it an effect that can trigger when it is Solemn'd is a little overpowering but its two effects do work against each other so I somewhat like it for that reason its almost perfect. Purple: I've never seen a late game Rank 4 before. It was my impression that while Dark World were able to summon level 4's they never necessarily went for them like that. More like random Grapha fuel. But this is a nice solution for that so it seems fine to me. Spear Striker: The text on the actual card itself is infinitely better than the text posted. The non Light and Darkness balances for the fact that its a perpetual searcher even without material which on its own merit is quiet overpowered. Still in my opinion this contest wasn't close victory to Sora.
Sora1499
@Beginning This contest ended like weeks ago, lol... Although I have to disagree about Exa-Locust. Dragonfly is at 1 (thank god!), so I can't possibly see how this causes loops. Besides, dragonfly is broken as hell. All this card really does is give Centpiede some more power by allowing the monster grabbed from the deck to be on the field and able to use hornet once more, because I specifically restricted this card to only SSing from the hand to avoid these loops. Although perhaps I should have added a clause that says that you can only control 1 Exa-Locust.
