Kingdom Xathers
I was having this thought throughout the late morning-early afternoon today of a possible Yu-Gi-Oh Fighting Game featuring the Duel Monsters as playable characters. Now, to keep things from going out of hand, I'd like to limit this to human/humanoid monsters (however, larger monsters such as Blue-Eyes White Dragon can appear in a character's "Special Limit" attack). Anyone is free to make their own suggestions, but please, don't get too carried away, alright? Possible Character Roster: ~Arcana Force 0: The Fool (w/ some of the other Arcana Force monsters, like The World, in some of his(?) Special Limits) ~E*HERO Wildheart (w/ his related Fusions as a "Transformation Special") ~Number 39: Utopia (w/ Number C39: Utopia Ray as a "Transformation Special") ~D.D. Warrior Lady (w/ Warrior Lady of the Wasteland as an alternate costume) ~Warrior Dai Grepher (w/ Dark Grepher and Lightray Grepher as alternate costumes) ~Wulf, Lightsworn Beast (has alt costumes where he cosplays as Assault Beast, Lycanthrope, T.G. Warwolf, etc.) ~Tour Guide from the Underworld & Sangan (Sangan acts as an extension for her attacks. In addition, the Tour Bus is used in one of her Special Limits. The original four Charmers will also be cosplay options for Tour Guide, while Sangan cosplays as the corresponding Familiar) ~Kaibaman (w/ Blue-Eyes White Dragon used in one of his Special Limits) ~Battle Ox (w/ Tiger Axe, Mezuki, Wolf Axweilder, etc. as Alt. Costumes) ~Dark Magician Girl (w/ Dark Magician used in one of her Special Limits. In addition, Magician's Valkyria and Magi Magi * Magician Girl will be some of her alternate costumes) ~Black Luster Soldier (the Ritual Version, not the lolborked Envoy) ~Harpie Lady (W/ Sisters and Pet Dragon as Special Limits) ~Gagagigo (w/ a "leveling system" that transforms him into each stage [Gagagigo-->Giga Gagagigo-->Gogiga Gagagigo-->Awakened Hero Gagagigo]. Gigobyte makes a cameo in his pre-fight animation before turning into Gagagigo) ~Gearfried the Iron Knight (can transform into either his Legendary Swordsman form or his Phoenix form. Will also have a Lightray color scheme for one of his costumes) ~Vorse Raider (w/ XX-Saber Boggart Knight as an alt. costume) ~Warrior of Zera (Transform Gimmick) ~Maestroke the Symphony Djinn ~Neo-Spacian Dark Panther (will have a moveset consisting of moves from other characters) ~Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts ~Freed the Brave Wanderer ~Marauding Captain (w/ X-Saber Souza and Field Commander Raaz as alt. costumes) ~Junk Warrior ~Djinn Presider of Rituals ~Inzekor Earwig ~Gravekeeper's Descendent ~Jinzo (w/ Jinzo Lord as a Transformation Special) ~Don Zaloog ~Machine King ~Embodiment of Apophis ~Gem-Knight Pearl ~Celtic Guardian ~Saggi the Dark Clown ~Toon Summoned Skull ~Musician King ~Ninja Grandmaster Hanzo (w/ pallette swaps referencing the other "Colored" Ninjas) ~Des Kangaroo ~Toon Mermaid (the shell has also grown limbs in order to move about) ~Gishki Ariel Possible Boss Fights ~Invader of Darkness ~Garlandolf, King of Destruction ~Ojama King (...LMAO!) ~Perfect Machine King ~The Creator ~Obelisk the Tormentor (O_o?!) ~Yubel ~Grapha, Dragon Lord of Dark World ~Other Boss Mons used by Antagonists from the anime/manga ~DarkNite/Nitemare ~Gishki Noellia/Evigishki Psychelone Possible Stages: Jam Session: Music-based monsters performing on a concert stage. Kingdom Xathers
You literally can't have Gagagigo without Freed, Maurauding Captain, and Invader of Darkness. Do we want him as one or Neos? ~Number 39: Utopia (w/ Number C39: Utopia Ray as a "Transformation Special") There's a possibility, though maybe he's best used as a sort of weapon. Like we can make transformation specials for Xyz. Tuners can be special items that allow you to transform into Synchros. I just feel anything in the Extra Deck shouldn't be a main character. ~D.D. Warrior Lady (w/ Warrior Lady of the Wasteland as an alternate costume) Completely necessary. ~Warrior Dai Grepher (w/ Dark Grepher and Lightray Grepher as alternate costumes) Completely necessary. ~Wulf, Lightsworn Beast Out of the Lightsworns, aren't there better choices? ~Tour Guide from the Underworld & Sangan (Sangan acts as an extension for her attacks. I'd think one of the 3 Normals would be better. Or the Normals with Alt skins. ~Celtic Guardian Good. ~Saggi the Dark Clown Debatable. Very debatable. ~Toon Summoned Skull Or regular Summoned Skull with the Toons as enemies/bosses. Possible Boss Fights ~Invader of Darkness Yup. ~Garlandolf, King of Destruction Okay. ~Ojama King (...LMAO!) Hm... ~Perfect Machine King Maybe with Machine King as a playable character. ~The Creator I can see it. ~Obelisk the Tormentor (O_o?!) Or any of the gods. ~Yubel I'd like Yubel as a playable character. Of course, getting Yubel to yell "YOU FOOL! ❤ Lovely Warrior ❤
How about Magician of Faith? She could be like a shy and helpless character who has other monsters "save her" during her specials. Like she fights out of fear or just to stay alive like Terra does in Dissidia or Pherra does in Soul Caliber. Would make an intereasting character. With the Tea/Anzu of Faith like when Tea/Anzu transformed into her in the anime and Manga.

Kingdom Xathers
Okay, so, in no particular order: I feel that Toon Summoned Skull, animation-wise, would be better than regular Summoned Skull, merely because the original is practically more stiff with its movements, whereas the Toon version would have a lot more freedom of movement. Paladin of White Dragon, unless he doesn't ride his steed, would not work so well, given that additional (read: lengthy) animations would be required for large/bulky quadrupedal creatures to do something as simple as turning around, which could lead to quite a disadvantage if such a character were to be made playable. In fact, any mounted characters, including Gaia, would be difficult to animate for a fighting game in general. I say "large/bulky" because, while the aforementioned examples would not work, smaller quadrupedal creatures like Okami's Amaterasu or Neo-Spacian Dark Panther (if he stays quadrupedal, of course) would have an easier time moving about. ... however, the Catapult-into-the-Castle's-floatation-ring scene could be used in a "funny background moment", if nothing else but for nostalgia's sake. =3 I suppose, in terms of other possible Lightsworns aside from Wulf, you could use Jain, Garoth, Ehren, or even Celestia, but... *trails off* I'll agree that having Mezuki and Battle Ox in the same roster would be pretty redundant, but Zombie Master... doesn't really strike me as one who would be actively fighting. Maybe something like Master Kyonshee, if we were that desperate to have a Zombie-Type character. Which leads to my decisions such as Wind-Up Warrior and Inzektor Earwig, which were made more or less to give some of the Archetypes a participant. In Earwig's case, I wanted something that wasn't directly related to the lolFieldRape. As for Magician of Faith, it seems that the only way for her to be a playable character is to make her the most gimmicky of all characters, since she doesn't have any discernible fighting ability at all. I would also have chosen one of the Charmers, yes, but then they would simply have the same gimmick as Tour Guide+Sangan, which is the same problem as Battle Ox-Mezuki I know that most of my choices for playable characters may seem wonky (especially given their statistics and usage in the actual card game), but I made my decisions based on how they could be portrayed using the typical fighting game tropes/stereotypes one would find (more specifically, I'd imagine this game to be a mix, primarily, of Marvel vs Capcom, BlazBlue and Skull Girls, with elements of other games thrown in) while tossing the card game's usual mechanics into a blender, then throwing that into a wood chipper (translation: the mechanics can be referenced, but they shouldn't be involved wholesale if it's going to make the fighting game too complicated otherwise): Wildheart's Fusions would be similar to MvsC's Assist Types except, instead of merely choosing what action he'll perform when called in to assist, you choose which Fusion he actually goes with, thus being more of a Wild Card (no pun necessarily intended) when playing against another human opponent (especially online). And to clarify: his actual Fusion partner(s) won't be part of the roster. He essentially makes the Fusion on his own (using his Fusion partner's respective card, but still) Gagagigo's "Level System" would be a nod to the Dragonball Z fighting games, where he can attain his next form by gaining enough Special Meter. Tour Guide, as Agro brought up, would be the Skull Girl-esque gimmicky character, what with her ability to incorporate Sangan in a number of her attacks. Likewise, Dark Panther would be the Double/Ancient Ogre, having access to moves from the other playable characters, as well as attacks that the playable characters don't have. And then we have Saggi, who I can see as being a Lethal Joke Character: very dangerous in the right hands and, as a homage to to anime, can use the Crush Card Virus as a Counter-based Special. 宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Master Hyperion should be a boss battle. In space. Like that Biohazard stage from Sonic Adventure 2. Reason: Mostly because of his artwork. His artwork clearly depicts Hyperion as a gargantuan with size even bigger than that of Unicron, holding the solar system in his hand. Of course, his size would be reduced for the battle to actually work.

The battle will take place on Fortissimo the Moving Fortress and you have to get through waves of Skiel, Wisel and Granel before battling the sub-boss Dragon Asterisk and then fighting Astro Mekanikle as the main boss.
