There is also the fact that an alternate site idea has been thought of before, tried, and is barely alive right now.

So, ignoring the fact that we don't have Xyz, and obviously won't get any for a really long time, the only other way of making the stie better IMo is by making the members better. Not the old respected ones, but the influx of new members who come here to make cards and post them to show off.

Frankly thats the only way the site has a hope of improving. Since, if people get feedback on there cards, keep making them, and stick around on the site for long enough, I'm sure they would end up spreading out to other parts of the site. I'm going to guess around half to respected members here started in a similar place. Now, even if it seems good on paper, that requires members to actually take part in that beyond some of the pointless flaming thats happened before.

Now, realistically thats not going to happen, becuase as has been pointed out a lot of the members, myself included, are lazy, or have other priorities. But since we are unlikely to get compitent new members here through chance, we just have to make the resource we have at hand into a good thing.

If I've just repeated what others have said, then sorry, but its the only thing we can do. other than let the site die to such a point where YCMaker is at risk of losing the influx the site gives him, and he is forced to put them on or else go broke. Or find a way to do illegal things at his expence. But I for one would rather not.
