It's a thread about death, you should've known what you were getting into.
I really assume people would spoiler EVERYTHING. It is far more logical to do so, because whether you know it or not, not everyone is going to know about everything that is being said in this thread.

Makoto dying in Kanon definitely deserves a mention. So does the death of Lucy at the end of the Elfen Lied manga series. Also, Guilty Crown, where Inori sacrifices her life to keep Shu alive is pretty sad. Also, Mikage dieing in 0- Ghost, and Takumi Toukiha in Mai-HiME when he is killed, even though he does end up being returned to life at the end. Finally, Teresa being killed in Claymore is a pretty sad moment. I'm not sure which is the saddest, but all of those are really sad deaths. Just as a side note, I'm refering to the anime in each situation, rather than any manga series that might exist of them, in all cases except for Elfen Lied, in which it is the manga series.

So much anime/manga here. No normal books at all?
~Hedwig - Cos Dobby's too mainstream, and really he barely did anything before that. She was one of the first characters. Lots of characters from HP though.

Lyra in Amber Spyglass - Not so much her 'death', but the seperation scene between her and pan was heart-wrenching.

Yoda - Because the little green dude was awesome.

Donna Noble, DW - sort of. Not really a death, but her memories were erased. That counts. It was quite sad to me.
