宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Naturia. Gusto. Fabled. VWXYZ. Ice Barrier. Genex. These are all archetypes which were never used because they weren't up to date when they were made. Naturias are too slow, Gusto miss the timing, Fabled was once good, but they're inconsistent, VWXYZ is ridiculous, Ice Barrier is weak and Genex is too reliant on Controller. The thing is, these archetypes are actually good on paper. Why? Naturias have the potential to negate EVERYTHING with Landoise, Barkion and Beast, Gusto could've been an insane Synchro Archetype if it weren't for Gulldo missing the timing, Fabled can SS 5 Synchro's in one turn, VWXYZ kills S/T and Monsters, Ice Barrier bounces 24/7 and Genex has a wide variety of effects. So, why not try and revive those archetypes? Make them playable. Give them a place in the meta. We have a cardmaker, so why the hell not?
1. Pick an Archetype from the spoiler below. 2. Make 2 or more cards that can make the selected Archetype usable. 3. Post those card(s) here.

1. I only accept a maximum of 6 contestants. 2. The judge's decision cannot be changed. 3. All YCM Contest rules apply. 4. If you lose, don't whine. 5. Judging is done by me and/or 1 or more co-judges. 6. You MUST make more than 1 card, but less than 7 cards. NOTE: The cards can be a sub-archetype of the archetype you selected. Darj
A question: Are you by any chance accepting written cards? I have written support for both Genex and AoJ but never bothered to look for matching images and turn them into YCM Cards.
宇佐見 蓮子@C94
Written cards are ok, although I prefer cards with images. But this won't change judging, since there are no "Image" criteria in the judging criteria. And Agro, you're entered.

Koshej
I'm taking the Ice Barrier archetype and reviving it as Mystic Ice Barrier sub-archetype. Points sent.
1 "Ice Barrier" Tuner + 1 "Ice Barrier" non-Tuner Synchro monsters Once per turn, if you control another "Ice Barrier" monster, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Ice Barrier" monster from your hand. While you control this face-up card, your opponent cannot target another "Ice Barrier" monster for an attack or a card Effect. If a "Mystic Ice Barrier" monster would be destroyed, you can return 2 or more "Ice Barrier" monsters you control to the owner's hand instead. Once per turn, while you control this face-up card and another "Ice Barrier" monster, you can return up to 3 face-up monsters you control to the owner's hand: Special Summon the same number of "Ice Barrier" monsters from your hand with Levels equal or lower to the Levels of the returned monsters. This card can only be Summoned or Set, if you control a face-up "Horohoro, Shaman of the Mystic Ice Barrier". While you control this face-up card and a face-up "Horohoro, Shaman of the Mystic Ice Barrier", all "Ice Barrier" monsters you control cannot be destroyed in battle. You can Banish this card and "Horohoro, Shaman of the Mystic Ice Barrier": Special Summon 1 "Ice Barrier" Synchro monster from your Extra Deck. This Special Summon cannot be Negated. While you control this face-up card and another "Ice Barrier" monster, all face-up monsters you control are considered to be "Ice Barrier" monsters for the Effects of "Mystic Ice Barrier" monsters. While you control another "Ice Barrier" monster, you receive no Battle Damage from battles involving "Ice Barrier" monsters. If you control another face-up "Ice Barrier" monster, you can shuffle this face-up card you control into your Deck: Special Summon 1 Level 5 or lower "Ice Barrier" monster from your Graveyard. "Umi, Knight of the Mystic Ice Barrier" + 1 or more "Ice Barrier" non-Tuner monsters When this card is successfully Synchro Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 "Ice Barrier" monster from your Deck or Graveyard. While you control this face-up card and another "Mystic Ice Barrier" monster, "Ice Barrier" monsters you control that would be put into your Graveyard are shuffled into your Deck instead. If a "Mystic Ice Barrier" monster would be destroyed, you can Banish another "Mystic Ice Barrier" monster instead. Increase all Battle Damage to your opponent from battles involving "Ice Barrier" monsters by 500.
Enjoy!
Darj
Ok, I'm in with Genex. I have written 6 Genex support cards, but decided to look for the images of the 4 I believe are the most important. I will post them once I am accepted. In the meanwhile, I will look for images that fit the remaining 2 cards.

Darj
Ok, here we go: My Support cards come in the shape of R-Genex Monsters, and a Field Spell Card. First, the new Boss: R-Genex Antimatter Effect: You can reveal 1 "Genex" monster in your hand; Banish that monster, then Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. When this card is removed from the field: Add the banished card to your hand. When this card is Normal or Special Summoned: Add 1 Level 4 or lower "Genex" monster from your Deck to your hand. If it was a DARK monster: Banish 1 card in your opponent's Graveyard. Description: "R-Genex" monsters are based on energy sources (e.g. Turbo, Accelerator, Magma) or vehicles (Vindikite, Locomotion). As such, "R-Genex Antimatter" is based on the reactions of matter with antimatter (I am not a physics expert, but you can look for this stuff in the Internet). Because of the unstable nature of this energy source, the distinctive ring on "R-Genex" is black or turned off "R-Genex Antimatter", as seen in the artwork. Card analysis: Like the latest Boss Monsters, "R-Genex Antimatter" is both easy to Summon while generating advantage, and has ATK comparable to the well known Grapha and Master Hyperion. However, instead of becoming a +1 by bouncing a "Dark World" monster to the hand or by destroying a card by banishing something from the hand or grave (Hyperion, High Priestess of Prophecy), Antimatter stays close to its "Genex" roots by adding a Genex monster to the hand, with an added bonus if that monster happens to be DARK (e.g. "Genex Controller"). When Antimatter is eventually removed from the field, it becomes a +0 by returning to you the banished card, staying, in my opinion, balanced. I designed "R-Genex Antimatter" to work both with "Machina Fortress" (since the Machina "Engine" goes well with any Machine Deck) and with "Recurring Nightmare", but with its self-Summoning effect you don't truly have a need of returning it to the hand with the Spell Card. R-Genex Echo Effect: If you control a face-up "Genex" monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). During either player's turn: You can discard this card to the Graveyard to target 1 "Genex" monster in your Graveyard, except "R-Genex Echo"; Special Summon that target. It cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects this turn. Description: As its name implies, "R-Genex Echo" is based on sound energy, and also the name makes a reference to its Tuning abilities (both by itself or by Summoning another Tuner). The "R-Genex" ring can be barely seen below the chest of the monster. Card analysis: This card was intended to work along "R-Genex Antimatter" to Summon the original "Genex" Boss monster: "Locomotion R-Genex". But if you don't have nothing to steal, this card can bring "Genex Controller" form your Graveyard to Summon the Synchro Monster you need. At the same time, by discarding this card during your opponent's turn you can get a temporary wall against your opponent's attacks. As usual, a new Field Spell Card is what takes an archetype to the top (e.g. Dragon Ravine, Gates of the Dark World), and now Genex have one of their own: Genex Power Plant Effect: Each time a player Synchro Summons a "Genex" monster(s): That player draws 1 card for each. Once per turn, during their respective Main Phase, each player can Normal Summon 1 "Genex" monster in addition to their Normal Summon or Set. During the End Phase of the turn this card was destroyed: Add 1 "Genex"monster from your Deck to your hand. Then, if you only control "Genex" monsters, you can destroy all monsters on the field. Card analysis: Basically, this card is the "Ultimate Offering" that "Genex" need, it turns your Synchro Summons into +0 and, much like Geartown, it replaces itself when destroyed with a "Genex" monster. In addition, it is capable of nuking the field from monsters (picture a "Genex" monster triggering an explosion upon the destruction of their plant). Your opponent must make sure you don't control any "Genex" before destroying this card, and still you get a card from the field! Now, often a Field Spells have their own searcher, and "Genex Power Plant" got one as well: R-Genex Generator Effect: You can discard this card; add 1 "Genex Power Plant" from your Deck to your hand. When this card is Normal Summoned while a "Genex Power Plant" is face-up on the field: Add 1 DARK "R-Genex" monster from your Deck to your hand. Description: "R-Genex Generator" is based on electricity created by, duh, a generator. You can kind of see the "R-Genex" ring behind the energy orb. Card analysis: Similar to Gravekeeper's Commandant, Warrior of Atlantis, etc. you discard this card to get the new Genex Field Spell quickly. And if the Field is already active, you can Normal Summon this card to search the new Boss Monster "R-Genex Antimatter". Also, this card being LIGHT allows you to design Chaos-based Genex Decks. R-Genex Blaze Name: During the End Phase of the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish 1 "Genex" monster from your Graveyard; Add 1 "Genex" monster from your Deck to your hand whose Level is equal or lower than the Level of the banished monster. Description: "R-Genex Blaze" is based on energy from explosions and flames, a more aggressive heat source than ovens or magma (eg. Genex Furnace, R-Genex Magma); hence the FIRE Attribute and relatively high ATK for a Level 4 monster. This card is similar to "Flamvell Firedog" and "Volcanic Rocket" in that the three are FIRE, have 1900 and are the Level 4 beasticks if their respective archetypes. Card analysis: This card is your beatstick and, much like the rest of the "R-Genex", searches a "Genex" monster from the Deck. You can use this to Synchro Summon "Genex Ally Triforce" with an effect and you still get to activate this card's effect. Unless I made a mistake on the description of the effect, this card should to be able to banish itself to activate its effect. R-Genex Compressor Effect: When this card is Normal Summoned: Change this card to Defense Position. Once per turn: You can discard 2 or more "Genex" monsters; Special Summon 1 "Genex" monster from your Graveyard whose Level is equal or lower than the total Levels of the discarded monsters. Description: "R-Genex Compressor" is based on an air compressor, hence the WIND Attribute and the effect that basically turns 2 or more cards into 1. You can see the "R-Genex" ring on the top of the monster. Card analysis: This card can be used for recycling a "Genex" Tuner in your Graveyard that you don't have in hand or summoning high-Level "Genex" such as "Genex Solar" or a Synchro Monster. It also works as a wall against most Level 4 monsters and also makes "Genex Ally Triarm" with an effect.
