Your opinions? It's pretty easy to hate them, pretty easy to love them. And just as easy to fall in between. They're so variable.

I like them anyway. I think they're the masters of concept albums and are amazing at reinventing themselves with new genres, new instruments and all sorts of other stuff. Outside of that, I find it impossible to fault their drummer, Chris Martin has a seriously impressive falsetto, and their hooks are awesome. Also, pretty sure they're responsible for popularising the whole 'hidden track' thing on albums.

This made me love this album the second it came on.

The main issue I have with people who don't like Coldplay simply because they've changed their style over the years is precisely that. If you're only reason for not liking a band is because they don't make music just like they did when they started, even if you'd like a completely new band who makes the same sort of music that they've started making more recently, that's a problem.

I haven't really listened to many of their songs, but I absolutely love The Scientist and Viva la Vida. It's a band I want to listen to more of once I get a chance to, but yeah, they're pretty good from the songs I heard. Also, in my opinion, Chris Martin is an incredible singer and the rest of the band are also pretty talented. But, yeah, Coldplay is one of the bands I need to listen to more, I just haven't had a chance to.

Hmm...other than the guitars being a bit more prominent, I don't see why people should complain. They haven't changed that much...
In all fairness, you need to listen to the whole album that each of those songs came from.
Speed of Sound - A Rush of Blood to the Head
Yellow - Parachutes

True that, I usually prefer albums to individual songs. I might give them a listen.
Start with Parachutes.
Then A Rush of Blood to the Head, X&Y, Viva la Vida, Mylo Xyloto

Unless I missed a few, idk, there may be an album before Parachutes that I never knew about.

That's all of them according to wikipedia. I'm sure I'll get around to listening to them all eventually, haha. Godspeed You! Black Emperor currently has my full attention.
