Not-so-Radiant Arin
You are aware that Secutor is complete toilet paper, right? And you are aware that this new Fusion is complete toilet paper when compared against Gyzarus... ...right? First off, it takes three materials to use, contrary to the standard two. Also, if this is the only card that you have on the field, the only things you can pretty much summon are Hoplomus, Murmillo, Secuterribad, and Bestiari (there might be something else I'm missing, but you get the point), only one of which has applicable Fusion Materials for one of the better Gladiator Beast Fusions. Secondly, it...uses Secuterribad, which I don't know if you have noticed, is...terribad. Make it use Murmillo; he doesn't get enough appreciation and he's okay. Thirdly, this creates an unconditional lockdown with itself if it is the only Gladiator Beast under your control. You won't be able to run over it with anything less than 1500 ATK, and you won't be able to Summon anything over 1500 ATK to beat him down. But, that also works in reverse, because then you can't Summon a Laquari to go into Heraklinos. Which is actually one of the better Gladiator Beast Fusions. And before you give me that crap saying "well, you shouldn't Fusion Summon it with an empty field", the fact is you shouldn't. At best, it only stalls your opponent for one turn before you realize, "oh hey, Essedarii is better than this toilet paper", and that's when you Summon Murmillo and fuse this with Mermaid and leave this for Darius Fodder. I'd fix the effect first before this gets anywhere, like saying "Neither player can Summon monsters with an ATK lower than the ATK of the "Gladiator Beast" monster you control with the highest ATK". That way, you can still maintain field presence with Laquari/Darius/Dimacari (hey, I've seen Dimacari tech'd in on a couple of occasions) and still be able to Fusion Summon to Gyzarus to blow up their field, Heraklinos to stop their Spells from activating, or Essedarii to serve as a beatstick. It has great execution, but it just doesn't look good on paper. Toilet paper, that is. Link to comment
Mugendramon
You are aware that Secutor is complete toilet paper, right? And you are aware that this new Fusion is complete toilet paper when compared against Gyzarus... ...right?
He is worse than Gyzarus, yes, certainly. Would you seriously want another Gyzarus-like card around? And Secutor is underrated.
Oh sorry, I didn't notice the card says I can't control any other Glads before making this. And, Retiari.
Secondly, it...uses Secuterribad, which I don't know if you have noticed, is...terribad. Make it use Murmillo; he doesn't get enough appreciation and he's okay.
Secutor can be ran @1 just fine as a tech. After all with A Hero Lives or Test Tiget a Secutor in hand can be used to a degree.
Thirdly, this creates an unconditional lockdown with itself if it is the only Gladiator Beast under your control.
Which is actually one of the better Gladiator Beast Fusions.
Sir, there are 4 existing Fusions. Gaiodaz is s***, Gyzarus is by far the best, and right after it comes Essedarii. Heraklinos is the third. So if "one of the better" is the second to worst...
Feel free to give me a list of Decks that can win without summoning anything above 1500.
I'd fix the effect first before this gets anywhere, like saying "Neither player can Summon monsters with an ATK lower than the ATK of the "Gladiator Beast" monster you control with the highest ATK". Tagging Bestiari, Murmillo and Retiari is a perfectly good control strategy, and your opponent can't Summon anything to win themselves. >Mentions Dimacari >Calls Secutor bad
It has great execution, but it just doesn't look good on paper. Something cool is that this can be used with Lance, commonly played in Glads, to restrict the opponent's plays even more AND protect this from removal during their turn. Strider Tigerwolf
Everyone seems to be making Gladiator Beast support now days...o wait, dats just me an a few.
"Gladiator Beast Secutor" + 2 "Gladiator Beast" monsters
I'm split. Heraklinos is looking far better already because of being a bigger monster that can negate stuff, and the fact that it uses Laquari (staple) to be brought out. Secutor (although it has it's potential) is really not worth running in Glads because it can be a dead card in hand and just down right unusable when summoned. The only times you'll get to get his effect going will be when you KNOW you can attack and there is near to 0 chance of anything happening, which in the current meta is rare when facing against Glad Beasts.
Must first be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by shuffling the above cards you control into the Deck. You have cut yourself off from most of the good Gladiator Beasts if you Summon him by himself except Bestiari, from the wording it can't be used to Fusion Summon a monster with higher ATK than itself INCLUDING other Gladiator Beasts which is going to cripple you in the long run especially since you don't have any viable targets to recycle Chariot, or dead Glads in your Graveyard and an opponent can feasibly match this monster with 1 Tour Guide as they'll just ram you with Zenmaines. Honestly this type of effect isn't necessary and frankly is as been said before: "Toiler Paper".
I have actually played Glads before, and they suck this format. They're too slow to be of any value, and they aren't worth playing.
Technically they are NOW worth playing given the "Forbidden" Quickplay Spells. The reason they are a flexible archtype is because of the way they were synchronized. The big issue with them is that they are moderately weak and they are "predictable" 2 major issues that they have to deal with now and can be crippled by since Wind-Ups will just out advantage them, Dark Worlds will just overpower about 80% of the time, and other decks just destroy. Being allowed to plus like a madman is a stupid idea. Being Generic is ridiculous. Essedarii is already amazing as a vanilla. Having an effect on Summon despite being generic is also ridiculous.
