.Rai
I feel like it's necessary to finally discuss them, and their...let's just call it a 'divided opinion'. Personally, I can't stand them. Neither for the fact that they're popular or for the fact that they're basically a formulated group, it's just because they don't make good music. I'm a great supporter of 'pop' and just getting rid of peoples' opinions on it and how there's a stigma of pop music just for being pop. There's a lot of good stuff. Too bad the bad stuff often speaks louder. Their debut album, Up All Night, was simply just mixed. The three songs they wrote are arguably the worst songs on the album, half of their singles sound exactly the same (note One Thing and What Makes You Beautiful), and they have the audacity to follow an acoustic guitar ballad with an electro-club pop anthem that name-drops Katy Perry (seriously, who was in charge of track listing). For this topic, stick to discussing their music, and not their image and popularity. Let's see where this goes.
Justice Master
I don't like their music. It's not good. I don't believe that it exists in the same realm as good. It's manufactured garbage and I don't like it. That is all.
ihop
Their music is actually decent to be fair, not particularly amazing a a bit cliched but certainly not too bad.
Expelsword
They are not as bad as people claim they are, like Justin Bieber. I still perfer 80s New Wave.

He has a severely limited vocal range basically consisting of whispering and falsetto, while most of the work on his songs are due to his massive budgets and his producers. Besides, they have no personality. They're just so indistinctive, music-wise. Why hop from electro to glam rock? It's just weird. But, going with you there on New Wave. It's cool. Justice Master
Of course, with this band's cliche "I love you gal" pop, I'll always prefer dancing if I want to and leaving my friend's behind if they don't.
CinnamonStar
Well, I've never heard a song by them. I only know hear people say that they're bad, but never heard them.o_o Can someone link me to what you think is their "best" (or least bad) song and what you think is the worst one? Of course I could go ahead and youtube the first thing that comes up, but there's the possibility that you'll run through tons of bad stuff and be done with it before you hear something alright.D:

Rapidfire
Well I like them, I mean it's obvious (sig). But I wanna make this clear, I love them because they tried. I mean to you it might seem as they just came on the X Factor and were put together cuz of girl appeal. But no. That is not it; I fell in love with them because they had talent, and they motivated me to do something with my "music career". Fact is I was way to shy to sing in front of anyone, and the X Factor or anything like that seemed so far. But they really changed my attitude towards music. For example the X Factor does not seem so far fetched now if I was sixteen I would totally audition, I say sixteen because this years auditions I was only fourteen, and I had a horrible sour throat. So that was out of question. But back to what I was saying I thought that I was so out of my league, and that I would be a idiot to try, but look at them three of them were talented and tow needed work, and they were only 16. It takes a lot of guts to do that, and I at the time I had no guts. Now I can say I do because when it I sing in front of my friends with some confidence. I can't say all of my insecurity is gone, but a whole lot is. And a bit off topic but their song "Moments" was made by a fan whose girlfriend got cancer, and was ding. So as you can see they care about their fans, because who in the 21 century would stop to read fan letters. Especially when you'r a boy band with more then 20 million screaming girls chasing you. So I hope you can see my point, and by the way this is their FIRST album there is bound to me mixed songs. I mean I would find it boring to stick to the same tempo all the time. And they hand pick the songs that go into the album. So for my finishing statement I am PROUD to call myself a DIRECTIONER.
eeeeeeh. Sorry if it ruins your perception:
"Moments" was written by Ed Sheeran and Si Hulbert,[1] and was produced by Hulbert. In an interview, Sheeran talking about the song, stated, "I wrote that years ago. I had a CD of 40 songs I was giving to publishers. One Direction's Harry Styles was staying at my guitarist's friend's house at the time. They were putting their album together and they didn't have enough songs. I said, "Here's a CD. If you want one of these songs, have it. And it got on the album. It was a song I was never going to use. To have it on a multi-platinum selling album is quite nice."[2]
Shotgun Cultist
i know i'm new but i also have an opinion, being as i'm firmly rooted in punk and metal, i dislike their music, but as people i see nothing wrong with them, i'm sorry i won't go as far as to say they're talented, but they're not bad guys, i know this much. as for the music i think any idiot with a synth track and voice modulator could make better music, but that's just my person view
