Darth Revan of the Sith
I saw the Republican National Convention and it is by far the worst in it's history. The only good part about it was Clint Eastwood's performance and unfortunately it wasn't very good but better than the rest. Considering the fact that Clint Eastwood's opinions were so radical, something I never knew. I was enthralled by the Democratic National Convention however. Seeing Bill Clinton destroy every attack made by Romney and Ryan during their convention was utter brilliance. We can all disagree on Clinton but this was absolutely brilliant. Now that the National Conventions have finished I must ask. Which one was better for you?
Tentacruel
Eh, Clint Eastwood's opinions weren't all that radical. They're just made to seem that way because of our screwed up political system. I couldn't stand Paul Ryan. The guy was full of hot air. Romney wasn't as bad but Clinton destroyed everything. I'd say the Democratic Convention due to Clinton. Also, the Daily Show did an interesting bit where they walked around the DNC and talked to Democrats about how "tolerant" they are. They're not very tolerant. It was pretty ironic. The best line was, "I'd never call a Redneck a name." *derp*
Darth Revan of the Sith
I disagree with the assumption that our political system is screwed up. Rather I think the people in the political system are screwed up. With a media that chooses entertainment over facts and with a largely uninformed America I believe we are the problem not the system. Also good to see you back in the Debate Section ADHD.
Tentacruel
I suppose you are right in that regard. But what I mean is that anything left of center is viewed as Commie pinko heathen propaganda, and anything right of center is viewed as Bible-thumping ignorant redneck banter. We should be more tolerant of more extreme stances.

Try other certain arguments besides that. I am trying to have debates that are debatable without delving into sensitive topics that only result in Flame Wars. And you are correct we should. Unless they hurt other people because of their views.

We can't just say that people aren't allowed to believe something because it makes someone uncomfortable. I mean, sure, openly discriminating against someone should be restricted, but with something so subjective, you'll have to accept that someone is going to get offended. Unless of course you mean hurt as in physically assault, in which case there is absolutely no excuse for such dickery.
Yeah, no one should let that fly. There are very few good reasons to beat someone up, and that is definitely not one of them. Disagreeing with people and actual discrimination against them are two different things.
Darth Revan of the Sith
I also feel that the RNC felt very... Dead. As Bill Maher puts it. "and th-the Democratic Convention I mean, it looks like the America I see when I walk down the street. And the Republican Convention looks like Antiques Road Show."
