This is exactly why Platinum is pretty hard for Nuzlockes.xD

*crosses fingers for getting far with the team*

Well I'm up to Snowpoint City atm with my team at lv40/41. With my grinding, I also have liek $300,000+ which I invest on healing items. I will grind my team before going into the Galactic climax. (I'm confident that my team can defeat Candice with little difficulty as is)

Team:

Pingu (Empoleon lv41)

Yin (Leafeon lv40)

Dash (Rapidash lv41)

Skye (Staraptor lv41)

Lucky (Togekiss lv40)

Demmy (Gabite lv39)

Reserves:

Motor (Rotom lv39)

Zazu (Crobat lv39)

omg not Gallade :(

RIP...

Yeah, if only Dusclops didn't Will-o-Wisp Gallade...

I kind of want to Nuzlocke X & Y, but I'm not sure if I should, because I want to catch all the new pokemon and train them up...
LIFE IS HARD.

AND CAN I JUST ASK, HAS EVERYONE ON THE PLANET CAUGHT A SHINY BESIDES ME?
I have tried so hard, never to find one SDKghdkfjghkjdhfg

I want to get into this, so any suggestions on a game to start with? What's the general difficulty for each generation?

Isn't that the one with the Fakemon?
I remember playing it like four years ago...
The pokemon were pretty bad, and so was the story, but I had fun. xP

It's the one with the horrible Fakemon that look ugly as sin, the one with absolute horrendous Spanish-to-English translations, and the one with the programmer inserting himself so much into the universe, he actually changed parts of the landscape to spell out his name or resemble his symbol.

Just reached Sunyshore City, since my last update, Motor the Rotom perished against Froslass. (In retrospect I could've avoided a death against Froslass tbh) Even though Cyrus' pokemon in the Distortion World were really tough, I was able to get through it without any casualties, only a few bruises.

Team:

Pingu (Empoleon lv48)

Yin (Leafeon lv47)

Dash (Rapidash lv47)

Skye (Staraptor lv47)

Lucky (Togekiss lv48)

Demmy (Gabite lv47)

Hey, can I join? I'm a pretty big fan of Pokemon...

Username: OpticalGalaxyStar
Favourite Pokémon: Scizor
Favourite game: Hmmm...Probably SoulSilver.
Are you new to Nuzlockes / how much experience do you have?

Well, I've been a member (now inactive) of Marriland Forums for about a year now, but I've been playing Pokemon since FireRed/LeafGreen. It really does have a special place in my heart for being the game that I spent the most time playing; my total hours for all my games clock up to over 600.

I've only caught shiny Zubats. :( Twice, I think.

Also welcome to Plainview, Broken and OpticalGalaxyStar! I've added the first 2 a few days ago, but here's to properly introducing them to us.

We're getting closer to 50 members.:P

Doing my godknowswhatnumber Nuzlocke of Sapphire. My Pokémon contracted Pokérus.

My party consists of:

Hilgya the Geodude (Level 12, Route 111) Freaking rock smash encounter…

Vaarsavius the Kadabra (Level 22, Granite Cave) Swept Brawly like a badass.

Amanda the Gloom (Level 22, Route 110) Slightly lost the theme naming here.

Durkon the Swellow (Level 23, Petalburgh Woods) Kind of a badass for still being here.

Belkar the Marshtomp (Level 25, starter) Swept Wattson, tanked a self-destruct.

Deaths:

Haley the Whismur

Elan the Wingull

Between the third and fourth gym right now.

Okay, I'm going to do a Nuzlocke of FireRed, but to make this more of a club thing, I'm going to let everyone pick the names of my Pokemon. I need four male names and four female names. You can nominate two names each, and it's first-come, first-served. The rules for my Nuzlocke are catch only the first Pokemon on each route (shinies and duplicates are excluded), Pokemon die upon fainting and no buying medicine from Pokemarts (Pokeballs are fine). Until you have beaten the Gym, you may only use a city's Pokecenter twice (you cannot fly and use the Pokecenter of a defeated Gym, that's cheating). No legendaries.

Cute naming scheme Ambrosia. Also Smear, I've caught tonnes of shinies, heck, I catch one for each game. If memory serves, it went like this:

Emerald: Carvanha (now Sharpedo)

FireRed: Unown A

Diamond: Gloom (now Bellossum)

SoulSilver: Golbat (now Crobat)

White: Golbat

W2: Growlithe (shiny Arcanine is sexy)

I plan to do a FireRed Nuzlocke, with a journal of sorts in the Creative Writing section. My intended gimmick are amusing rulings from the Trainer's Handbook to justify some of the weird stuff that goes on ingame.

My platinum Nuzlocke is now complete *fanfare*

Active Survivors (Champions):

Skye (Staraptor lv57)

Yin (Leafeon lv57)

In retrospect, Dash (Rapidash) would've been a survivor if I healed/Fire Blast'd/let Skye take care of Roserade, and Pingu may have been a survivor. (Borderline though)

Now that my Platinum Nuzlocke is complete I can continue with my Emerald Nuzlocke comic or go back to finishing my Team Rocket challenge.

Well, when you work with what you have to work with in the spur of the moment…

Anyways, Hinjo the Numel joined and died, (Route 112) along with Hilgya. Thog the Machop (Level 24, Fiery Path) and Monstersan (should be a hyphen in there, but ah well, Level 20, Jagged Pass).

Rest of team are all Level 26. Feel a bit underleveled considering Belkar is the only one that will be able to do things next gym.

Ambrosia: Nice. That's similar to the regular teams I tend to use in gen III. Whismur and Numel are always so hard to keep alive in their first stades, but great assets when they evolve. IF they live long enough to make that happen.

Optical: What do you mean with a challenge other than solo runs?=o

I would have suggested monotype, but I'm not familiar with B/W 2 or their difficulty level.

If you think a game could be too hard, you can "slim it down" by loosening up the rules a bit, for example by including legendaries or letting a few revival potions pass.

Mihails: Violet (female) and Lapislazuli (anything really).

Broken: That would be a good idea, since few people do anything with their runs anymore (besides British Soul's comic). I like reading the Nuzlocke forums just for the kinds of ideas people come up with.

British: Congrats for 2 successful runs!=D

I have some time off tonight and will host a contest on Pokémon Showdown, probably Challenge Cup since people suggested it before.

Please sign up here if you want to take part, I will be online between 4 p.m. EST and 6 p.m. EST (more or less, can extend).

So how about...a tourney starting at 5 p.m. EST, would anyone be around for it?

(You can use sites like www.worldtimebuddy.com to find out your time.)
