Lynn stared at Yuuto curiously, wondering which card he had placed into the sarcophagus. "I draw!" she declared, drawing a card from her deck. [i]Oh, yes, [/i]she grinned. "I place the field spell 'A Legendary Ocean' onto the field!" The moment the card was placed into the right slot, the scenery around both duelists changed. They were now on an ovular, flat, sandy surface with ancient, tan-colored brick buildings surrounding them. In the distance was a castle, and little, unimportant fish swam past the duelists. "Thanks to my field spell, all WATER monsters in each player's hand have their level decreased by one. This means," Lynn commenced as she selected a card in her hand and placed it on the field, "that I'm allowed to summon this monster! Come forth, Deepsea Warrior!"

A large whirlpool formed from the summoned monster's card. Then, it vanished, revealing the deadly-looking monster. "Oh, yeah. Did I mention that all WATER monsters gain two hundred attack and defense points?"

A light blue aura radiated from Deepsea Warrior as his attack and defense were strengthened.

"And now, with eighteen hundred attack points, I attack you directly!"

Deepsea Warrior charged forward, slamming into Yuuto. "I'll end my turn by placing a card face down in my spell and trap card zone," Lynn concluded, placing her Negate Attack face down on the field. "Then, I'll activate my Solemn Wishes trap card since I'm allowed." The card flipped face up. You're move."

Yuuto took the hit. "Argh." (8000--> 6200). "My turn. Draw!" Yuuto drew a card and added it to his hand. "Since it's my standby phase, half of my sarcophagus comes back." The right half of the previous box was floating in mid air. "Now I'm gonna bring back my old friend. I summon Silent Swordsman LV0 from my hand." The child warrior returned to the field, this time at it's normal size. "Next I'll set one card and end my turn." The back of a card appeared in front of Yuuto, then it disappeared. Yuuto checked the cards on the field and set up his next turn mentally. Soon the duel will be over, and he will be victorious.

Lynn thought to herself, [i]This guy won't know what hit him. [/i]"I draw!" she shouted to Yuuto. Before she did anything, Solemn Wishes shot a beam of light that penetrated Lynn's duel disk, increasing her life points to 8500.

The card she drew was Spiritual Art - Aoi. "First, I'll activate my Trap Stun on the field!" The card flipped over and lightning exited it, spreading across the field and then fading away after a couple of seconds. "Now you and I won't be able to activate trap cards for the remainder of this turn." Lynn then placed her Aoi card face-down. "Now, I'll summon the Warrior Of Atlantis!"

The aquatic creature exited its card as Lynn placed it on the field. "Like Deepsea Warrior, he gains two hundred attack and defense."

The same blue aura that emanated from Deepsea Warrior now radiated from Warrior Of Atlantis, as well.

"And now, I attack your Silent Swordsman with my Warrior Of Atlantis!" Lynn yelled triumphantly. [i]There's no way he can block this, [/i]Lynn thought to herself as her Warrior prepared to strike.

Yuuto smirked and thrust his palm toward Lynn. "Spell card activate. Turn Jump!" A sudden shift of the field happens and Silent Swordsman LV0 now looks like a teenager. He wears the same clothes, but is taller, thinner, and wields a bigger sword. "This card treats all monsters currently on the field as if they'd been on the field for 6 turns. This turns my Swordsman's attack to 3500. This card's effect also states that attacks are continued after this card is resolved. Now, Silent Swordsman, defeat Warrior of Atlantis!" The aquatic monster sprang toward the swordsman who cut him in half with a single swipe of his sword. "You may continue with your turn." Yuuto says.

"...Oh," was all Lynn could manage after Yuuto's clever strategy had destroyed her precious Warrior Of Atlantis. "Well... I didn't see that coming," she said, "I'll place my Deepsea Warrior in defense mode." The only monster that had survived the Battle Phase, Deepsea Warrior, switched into defense position. "I guess there's nothing much I can do now," Lynn sighed. "I end my turn." Lynn alternated glances between her Deepsea Warrior, her Spell & Trap card zone, her graveyard, her deck and her hand... or at least, what used to be her hand. "I don't have any cards in my hand," Lynn muttered as she realized that her next draw had to count.

"My turn again." Yuuto said picking a card from his deck and placing it in his hand. First off, I'll claim my card from the golden sarcophagus."Yuuto said as the sarcophagus became full and opened up, the card inside adding itself to Yuuto's hand. "Now, my Swordsman becomes level 4 and gains another 500 attack.(3500--->4000)" The warrior got a little bit taller, and the teenage look was completed. "Now I'll summon Goblindbergh (1400,0) from my hand." A goblin flying an airplane flew onto the field. It dropped off a box and switched to a defensive position. "He lets me special summon a level 4 or lower monster from my hand, and I chose Skilled Dark Magician(1900,1700)." The box opened up and inside was a magician wearing a gray cloak and holding a staff in both hands. "Now I activate Ultimate Offering, letting me pay 500 (6500-->6000 life points to summon my Silent Magician LV 0 (1000,1000)" The old magician reappeared. "Now I activate a spell card. Heavy Storm!" A giant tornado appears on the field and destroys all spell and traps cards on the field. "This card destroys all spell and trap cards on the field. Now, I create an overlay network with my Goblindbergh and Skilled Dark Magician, so that I can exceed summon Number 39: Utopia!" A warrior in white and gold armor, with a red 39 on his shoulder holding two swords came out of a vorte created by the two monsters used to summon it. "Now, Utopia, attack Deepsea Warrior." The Soldier flew over to the monster and destroyed it in one slice. "Now Silent Swordsman and Silent Magician, Attack her directly!" The magician and swordsman run at Lynn together and both attack. "Now when you draw a card, my Silent Magician will gain a level and 500 attack. With that said, I end my turn."

Lynn stood in shock as her cards were destroyed and her life points were damaged nearly beyond repair. When the dust brought up by the intense battle subsided, Lynn could see that her field was void of cards while Yuuto had an entire army ready to strike and take away the remaining life points she had. "Gotta make this count," Lynn told herself, breathing deeply. She closed her eyes and placed her hand on top of her deck. "My turn!" she declared. Keeping her eyes shut tightly, Lynn drew the card. After a long pause, she opened her eyes to see what she had drawn...

"I activate Pot of Greed!" Lynn called to Yuuto. "Your Magician probably gets a counter 'cause I activated a normal spell, but whatevz. I draw two cards!" Lynn once again drew from her deck. This time, she smiled. At least these cards could help protect her long enough until she found a way to break through Yuuto's offense. "I place a card in my spell and trap card zone!"

Mirror Force was placed face down.

"Next I place a monster in face-down defense position!" Lynn shouted. With a shaky hand she set her monster. "Calm down, Lynn," Lynn whispered to herself. "You can still win this." Lynn waited a few seconds before saying, "Your move!"

Yuuto picked up his next card and calmly out it in his hand. "Since you drew three cards last turn, my magician gains 3 levels and 1500 Attack.(1000>2500)" The magician turned into a more teenage like version of himself and he now wielded a scepter. "Now I activate Mystical Space Typhoon, which lets me destroy one spell or trap card on the field, I chose your facedown card." A vortex swirled around the facedown card, then a bolt of lightning struck the card and destroyed it. "Oooh. Mirror Force. That could've helped you a lot. Oh well. Now, Utopia, attack her facedown monster." The monster went to the card, which flipped face up and was destroyed in a single slash. "Now Silent Swordsman attack her directly!" The swordsman lunged for an attack, and was about to contact when Yuuto's duel disk started to flash random lights. The duel disk turned off in the middle of the final attack. "Damn it!" Yuuto screamed. "Oh well, I guess we know the outcome of the duel. Good game." Yuuto said as he walked over to give his opponent a handshake.

Arianna rode on for some time, before turning a corner and heading deeper into the city. With the tall buildings, all mimicking eachother's design and shape, it seemed like an endless maze to find this laboratory. After a few minutes on the right street, but not being able to find it, she sat on a bench to think. As she was about to stand up, she saw a woman with a duel disk on her arm. She was being followed by a beautiful reptile, perhaps a duel spirit or a dragon. "[color=#ee82ee]Excuse me,[/color]" Arianna said while rising from the bench. "[color="#ee82ee"]I can't help but notice that you're a duellist. Can we maybe have a duel, as I really need to practise my skills for a new job I'm getting[/color]." She smiled sweetly.

[color=#000000]Remi walked down the city as and as relaxed as a human being can ever possibly be. Without a care about anything nor anyone. But then, a young lady suddenly stood up from her bench and challenged her to a duel.[/color] [color=#000000]Of course, she accepts.[/color][color=#daa520]"My, how rude of you. Asking a person to duel without even saying hello? You need to learn some manners first."[/color][b][color=#daa520] [/color][/b][color=#000000]Saying so, Remi folded her umbrella and threw it to the side, with her dragon catching it in mid-air and properly putting it down on the bench the young lady sat on a few moments ago.[/color][color=#daa520]"Still, as you said, I am a duelist and I never turn down a challenge." [/color][color=#000000]Remi's dragon then latches on to her right hand, with the wings taking a duel disk-like formation and her deck magically materializing in the dragon's mouth.[/color][b][color=#daa520]"[/color][/b][color=#daa520]The game is on, then."[/color][b][color=#daa520] [/color][/b][color=#000000]Remi drew her first five cards and looked at them in delight, seemingly getting the best combination of cards in her hand her deck could allow. [/color][color=#daa520]"Alright then, I shall go first, I suppose." [/color][color=#000000]Remi drew her first card and immediately followed it up by placing a Spell Card on the field.[/color][color=#daa520]"I activate the Spell Card, Reverse Spell - Witch Destiny. It's effect allows me to send 1 Witch card from my deck to the graveyard and on my next turn, use the sent card's effect." [/color][color=#000000]A hologram of a girl holding a glass beaker filled with maroon-ish pink liquid appears on Remi's field [/color][color=#daa520]"Through it's effect, I send my Dragon Witch - Ferlucia to the graveyard." [/color][color=#000000]The liquid inside the girl's beaker suddenly flickered and showed the image of a Monster Card before it returns to normal again. [/color][color=#daa520]"Now then, I guess that is all for my first turn."[/color] [color=#000000]Following this, Remi pointed her index finger at her opponent, as if saying once again that her turn is over. [/color][color=#daa520]"Your turn, Ms.....? I'm sorry, but we might have forgotten to introduce ourselves, haven't we? My name is Emilia von Krone, although most people refer to me as Remi. Feel free to call me Emilia or Remi, whichever suits your tongue better."[/color]

"[color=#ee82ee]Okay Remi, you're on![/color]" Arianna shouted, while drawing a card from her deck. She smiled, this was a good hand. [color=#ee82ee]"Since I have no monsters on my side of the field, I activate my spell card, it's called "Ice Age Panic". This card allows me to Special Summon one EARTH monster from my deck." [/color]Arianna began searching through her deck before placing a card on her duel disk. "[color=#ee82ee]I Summon my "Ancient Giant" in Attack mode![/color]" (2200/1100). A large stone ogre appeared on the field, its heavy body making the ground tremble slightly. Remi was wide open to a direct attack, but Arianna wasn't finished yet. "[color=#ee82ee]Now, I Normal Summon my Gyaku-Gire Panda in Attack mode![/color]" (800/1600) A large Panda came out, barng its teath at Remi.. "[color=#ee82ee]Now, I attack! Go my monsters, attack her directly![/color]" Arianna shouted, dramatically pointing at her opponent.

[/color][color=#000000]The next combo that Arianna pulls off could inflict heavy damage on Remi's Life Points, but she had predicted that this would happen and she was not surprised nor scared to take a huge hit to her life points. As Arianna's two monsters lunge at her, Remi just stood still and braced for the impact. [8000-(2200+8000)=5000] [/color][color=#000000]The attack of the two monsters caused a large explosion of smoke on the ground. And once the smoke cleared, it revealed Remi just stood there without any change in her stance at all. After all, this all is just virtual reality. [/color][color=#daa520]"Fufu. I see that you are a pretty skilled duelist, if I may say so myself. However, a brutal strategy such as that shan't defeat me. Is there any more cards you want to use before ending your turn, Ms. Arianna?" [/color][color=#000000]Remi chuckled slightly at how carefree her opponent is, before returning to her usual cold self.[/color]

Arianna was happy to be in the lead, and didn't look to be losing any time soon. Maybe she was really strong, or maybe her opponent was weak. She didn't know, but she hoped it was the former. Soon, she would unleash her Ancient cards on her opponent, and hopefully summon her Ancient Dragon. Her face-down Negate Attack should give her enough cover until next turn when she could unleash such cards.

"[color=#ee82ee]So, are you going to make your move Remi!?[/color]"

With Arianna's turn over, Remi drew her next card and was actually surprised to get just the card she needed in order to complete her combo. [color=#DAA520]"Now then, Witch Destiny's- No, Ferlucia's effect activates. I'll send four spell cards from my deck to my graveyard." [/color][color=#000000]Remi said, as her deck magically floated in mid-air before sending four cards to Remi's hand on it's own will. Remi then opened the four cards her deck [i]gave[/i] her. [/color][color=#DAA520]"The cards I choose to send are 2 Witch's Familiar - Marluvia and 2 Witch's Grimoire - Sartoria." [/color][color=#000000]Following this, the deck placed it self back at it's rightful place and Remi sent the 4 cards to her Graveyard. [/color][color=#DAA520]"Now this is where the duel truly starts! I use the effect of my Violet Witch - Viridianna. By Banishing 3 Spell Cards from my graveyard, I can Special Summon her from my hand. Come forth, the witch who controls the violet roses, Viridianna! [/color][color=#000000]A large violet colored rose appears on Remi's field. The rose then blooms completely, revealing the figure of a young woman inside it. [/color][color=#DAA520]"My Spell Cards all have unique effects upon being Banished from the graveyard. Witch Familiar - Marluvia's effect allows me to destroy 1 Card you control by discarding 1 Card from my hand. Of course, the cards I choose to destroy are your Ancient Giant and your face-down card." [/color][color=#000000]2 humanoid robots wearing magician apparel appear on Remi's field, each holding what appears to be small lightning[size=1][size=2][s]balls [/s][/size][size=3][size=4]o[/size][/size][size=4]rbs[/size][/size]. After Remi points at Arianna's "Ancient Giant" and her face-down card, the two robots shot their lightning orbs at both cards Remi is pointing at. [/color]

"[color=#ee82ee]Oh no[/color]!" Arianna cried as her Ancient Giant crumbled before her. At the same time her face-down shattered in to tiny pieces. With only Gyaku-Gire Panda on her side of the field, she was going to lose a lot of Life Points this turn.
"[color=#ee82ee]Good move! But you're going to have to do more than that to defeat me![/color]" Arianna smiled, picking her two destroyed cards up off of her duel disk and placing them in her Graveyard. "[color=#ee82ee]So, anything else?[/color]" She asked, turning her head to one side, perhaps trying to indicate that her opponent had failed to attack her thus far. She took another look at her hand. She had a good enough hand to win the duel, it just needed some extra supplements.

Dr. Underwood neared the lab, thinking about his new Numbers. Fortuanately, the fit his deck fiarly well. Maybe a few adjustments were in order. He could take care of that at the lab. He continued walking down the street, seeing the back door he always went. He pulled out his key and stepped inside, walking to his office. He started with the regular donuts, then sketched a couple ideas. In the middle of his Deckbuilding session, however, was when he realized something was going on outside. He glanced through the window and nearly fell out of his chair. A giant magician, an epic warrior, and one of those so called 'Numbers' had just dissintigrated. He had to see what was up. He approached the door and looked out of it. "Ah, nuts!" he cringed. "It's intern day!" He pushed the doors open, ready for the worst.

The cards I discard as part of Witch Familiar - Marluvia's effects are 2 Witch's Grimoire - Ristoria."to [/color][color=#000000]Remi took two cards from her hand, showed it to her opponent and then send it to the graveyard. [/color][color=#daa520]"At the same time, Witch's Grimoire - Sartoria's effect activates, forcing us to discard 1 card from our hand but allows us to add 1 Spellcaster-type monster from our deck to our hand." [/color][color="#000000"]Once again, Remi took one card from her hand and showed to Arianna before sending it to her graveyard. [/color][color=#daa520]"I send Mech Witch - Vexia and add Witch Initiate - Priscilla in her place. However, Vexia's effect activates. Since a Spell Card is banished, I get to Special Summon her from my graveyard." [/color][color=#000000]A figure of a small girl whose entire left hand appears on Remi's field before turning into a small orb of light along with Violet Witch. [/color][color=#daa520]"The one who has born and lived out of pure envy, a symbol of jealousy and madness! Synchro Summon, The White-haired Jealousy, White Witch - Marluvia!" [/color][color=#000000]The two orbs which are Mech Witch - Vexia and Violet Witch - Viridianna merged together and created a large, heart shaped white gate in the air. With a flick of Remi's fingers, the gate opens, revealing a woman clad in white inside it. The gate then disappeared, allowing the woman to fall down freely from it to Remi's field. [/color][color=#daa520]"Surprised? Now it's time for my Battle Phase. Marluvia attacks your Gyaku-Gire Panda." [/color][color=#000000]Remi's index finger points at Arianna's Gyaku-Gire Panda, before shouting Marluvia's attack name:[/color] [b][color="#808080"]"Phantom Jealousy!" [/color][/b][color=#000000]Remi's witch pointed at Gyaku-Gire Panda in the same manner her owner did, only this time, the witch seems to be firing countless invisible energy blasts, as Gyaku-Gire Panda seems to disintegrate slowly to tiny pieces. [/color][color=#000000][Arianna LP: 8000-(2400-800)=6400] [/color][color=#000000]Remi then lowers her hand as her witch copied her hand movement at the same time. [/color][color=#daa520]"Turn end."[/color]

Yuuto looked at the man who opened the door. "Hello sir. I am Yuuto Diasu. It's an honor to be working here. May we come in?" Yuuto says politely. The thoughts that he had at the beginning of the day start to race through his head again. Yuuto takes a deep breath to clear his mind. It works. Only a single question remained. [i]'Are we going to be guinea pigs for traveling in time?' [/i]Yuuto thought over and over again. Then, he started weighing whether that was good or bad. It would be good if it completely worked. It would be bad if anything else. Yuuto started to get a little nervous, then took another deep breath and cleared his head again. [i]'Today, nothing bad will happen. Everything will be good and nothing will stop that.' [/i]Yuuto reassured himself. Then he turned to Lynna. "Ready?"

A black car parked outside the laboratory as a man exited his car with black combed hair. Readjusting his glasses, the man walked on into the laboratory while reading his book as his long sleeved arms supported it and his white labcoat flopped in the wind.

The well-known thought to be kind man, Dr. Knight saw the two new interns in the conversation with Dr Underwood. [color=#00ff00][b]“Good morning Dr Underwood,”[/b][/color] Dr. Knight greeted his partner politely as he smiled to the new interns. [color=#00ff00][b]“Of chorse you can come in, it would be rude making you wait outside for the rest of the reshaped team,”[/b][/color] he informed further leaving explanations for later when the interns adapt to the laboratory. After Dr. Knight paused to let the interns in before he walks behind them, out of nowhere interrupted that idea for only seconds as a teen ran into their sight while holding two suitcases. [color=#daa520][b]“Sorry I am nearly late, I am Nathaniel,”[/b][/color] the ten known as Nathaniel apologies while maintaining his calm and professional manner. [color=#daa520][b]“I encountered several obstacles on the journey,”[/b][/color]

Yuuto walked in. "Thank you sir." Yuuto started looking around seeing various trinkets and gadgets on shelves. "This is a very fine establishment." Yuuto says admiring all the things the scientists put hard work into. Now, Yuuto's nerves were killing him. They were turning everything he thought of into a scary thought. He knew he had to ask the question, so he did. "Now I wasn't really told, what exactly is our job Dr?" Yuuto deeply breathes out, relieved that he even got the question out of his mouth without screaming out of fear for what they might do. Then he embraces for a reply of the worst. [i]'I hope we don't have to be test monkeys. I hope we don't have to be test monkeys.'[/i] Yuuto repeated in his head over and over.

"[color=#ee82ee]Aahh![/color]" Arianna cried as the witch destroyed her beloved Panda. "[color=#ee82ee]You'll pay for that Remi! My move![/color]" She once again drew her card dramatically, looking at it and smiling. "[color=#ee82ee]Okay, I place one monster face-down and activate this, my Ancient Key! This card allows me to Summon two Stone Giant Tokens from my deck![/color]" A key, resembling an ancient Egyptian item appeared on the field. Suddenly as if from the ground, two Stone Giant Tokens arose , crossing their arms (400/2000). "[color=#ee82ee]Next, I'll activate my Continuous Spell card, Spell Sanctuary. This card allows us both to add a Spell Card from our deck to our hand. And, we can activate them as Quick-Play spells too![/color]" A small floating castle with a bright light shining above it appeared. Out of the castle came Arianna's card, which she promptly added to her hand. "[color=#ee82ee]To end, I'll place one card face down[/color]". One card appeared on her side of the field. She couldn't leave it in her hand to be wasted, and so she had to set it. "[color=#ee82ee]Oh, and I lose 1000 Life Points for not attacking with my tokens, but hey, its a small price to pay for such a powerful ending[/color]".

[/color][color=#000000]In contrast to Arianna who plays all her cards dramatically with spirit and emotion, Remi shows barely any emotion safe for a fake smile that she shows to everyone else in the world. [/color][color=#daa520]"I use the effect of your Spell Sanctuary. The card I chose to add to my hand is the downfall of you, Heavy Storm." [/color][color=#000000]Like before, Remi's deck magically floated in the air before it spewed out a card right into Remi's hand, before she reveals it and activates it. [/color][color=#daa520]"I activate the spell card, Heavy Storm. I guess a duelist such as you should know it's effect, right? That's correct, this card destroys all Spell and Trap cards on the field, which means you have just wasted your hand and that the possibility of you winning would be near impossible." [/color][color=#000000]The witch on Remi's field created a few hand signs before casting a huge tornado that slowly inches it's way to Arianna's field. [/color]

"[color=#ee82ee]No! My cards![/color]" Arianna cried, watching her Spell Sanctuary, Ancient Key and Mirror Force all go to the Graveyard. This was going all wrong for Arianna, and both she and Remi knew it. Luckily, she kept three copies of her Ancient cards, and, if her face down monsters effect activated, it might be all okay after all. "[color=#ee82ee]Carry on...[/color]" Arianna quietly said. She had to rely on her face down, as that was the only thing that could change the duel. Her hand, which included the card added by [size=3][font=tahoma, helvetica, arial, sans-serif][background=rgb(251, 253, 254)]Witch's Grimoire - Ristoria wasn't going to be much use unless she drew Solemn Wishes. It looked bad, but not disaterous.[/background][/font][/size]

[color=#00ff00][b]“Me, Dr. Chase and Dr. Underwood will tell you all later in more depth once everyone that is part of the team is here because we don’t want to be repeating this again and again,”[/b][/color] Dr. Knight responded to Yuuto vaguely as he relaxed his back against one of the walls and read through his book calmly. [color=#00ff00][b]“I will tell you a basic teaser of what the core part of your job will be. You are going to protect the legendary Duelists: Yugi Muto, Jaden Yuki, Yusei Fudo and Yuma Tsukuno… etcetera, etcetera, etcetera from a mysterious Duelist who goes by the name of Roba,”[/b][/color] Dr. Knight explained while reading his book as he buried his mind within the contents of the book and paused. [color=#00ff00][b]“So…Help yourself around the lab and socialise with each other so that you will develop to become a greater team while waiting for the others. I will supervise to make sure nobody comes out of nowhere to attack you or if something bad goes wrong,”[/b][/color] he said smiling as he placed his book into his labcoat pocket and stared into space.

Nathaniel stared at the two other interns and carefully looked at them confused. [color=#daa520][b]“You both don’t seem Pro material,”[/b][/color] he said quietly to them with little emotion to them as he remained in his calm and collective tone. He was quiet enough for the further away Scientist to possibly not hear him but the interns that were closes to him was guaranteed to hear him because he was targeting them.

Lynn was about to be defeated when suddenly Yuuto's duel disk... shut down? Lynn was now confused. "What the...?" she wondered. Before she could say anything, Yuuto extended his hand. Lynn shook it and said, "That was a really fun game! I mean, yeah, I would've lost, but still had a great time!" Releasing her grip on Yuuto's hand she asked, "What happened to your duel disk?"

Suddenly, the door to the lab opened and someone told them to enter. Lynn followed right behind Yuuto, eager to get her first look on the inside. They went into the lab and Lynn stared in awe at the fancy, slightly futuristic interior. "This is... spectacular," Lynn remarked in a dreamy state. She ran her hand along the wall, feeling the smooth texture. "I can't wait to begin! This place rocks!"

One of the people, the other intern Nathan who had arrived just recently, commented on their non-Pro appearance. "Hey!" Lynn exclaimed, slightly offended. However, she then decided to shrug off the comment.
