Yuuto woke up and stretched. He looked at his calendar and was shocked to see the date. "Yes! Today's the day to start my internship!" he excitedly screamed. He hoped out of bed and got dressed. He grabbed put his duel disk on and grabbed his deck. There were so many thoughts racing through his head. How would his bosses treat him? Who would the other interns be? Would he know any of them? What would he be assigned to do? All this and more crowded his thoughts. He then ran out the door and jumped into his car to drive to the lab where he would be working. With the thoughts still racing through his head.

Roba sat up in his chair and looked at his computer screen. He was in a dark room with no lights on. He wore all black and and a lab coat. "Just twenty-four more hours, and my plan will be set in motion. Pretty soon all of New Domino will fear me. MUWAHAHAHAHAHA. He picked up his phone and dialed a number of his partner and cousin, Samuel, to make sure all preparations were ready.

Lynn rubbed the remaining sleep out of her eyes and swung her legs over the side of the bed. She turned her head lazily to the right and inspected her clock. "Gotta get ready for the job," she exclaimed, a wide smile spreading on her face. Today was the day that she begun her internship at the lab, where apparently they had created a device capable of letting humans time travel. It's so amazing, she thought to herself as she hastily changed out of her pajamas and into her regular clothing. Lynn exited her bedroom, quickly made her way to the bathroom to fix up her hair, and then trotted downstairs to the kitchen. Her parents were both at work, so it was empty. Lynn made a simple breakfast consisting of cereal and toast, and immediately afterwards she rushed outside. Hopping onto her bike, Lynn smirked. How many people get to say they work in a lab where people invented a time machine?! she thought giddily. Without bothering to look both ways, she began to pedal her bike across the street and onto the sidewalk, where she made a left turn and continued onward. "New job, here I come!" she cheered happily.

A nearly young man with brown flat hair and black long jacket exited his pristine manor. ‘Finally, my job shall now start,’ he though as his hands clenched onto his two white shining suitcases that he felt confident had everything he needed for his job. The regionally known former Profession Duelist, the Card Collector walked through the cobblestone pathway in his majestic garden. After twenty second of walking, he closed the gate and walked onwards towards the laboratory he lived close to. They hired him for dueling across time and being the hero. Definitely was more interesting than his past career. It was Nathaniel’s good day.

___

Doctor Knight aka Samuel, a handsome and successful Scientist was in his house in his small dedicated Computer Room typing on his computer already prepared for gaining more information at work. When suddenly, one of his many phones rang. Samuel has over twenty different mobile phones and often changes his email addresses to unusual Usernames with unhackable Passwords that he often changes every day or scraps completely. But this time, his standard D-Gazer that he never uses in public rang because his fake identity never duels.

‘Roba?’

He patted his head remembering that it was close to when his cousin and master had planned to finally attack and destroy everything good in the past. Samuel shrugged and picked up his rarely used D-Gazer that people of Heartland use as mobile phones and such for contact. “Hello cousin how is the plan going?” he asked casually waiting his masters response.

Roba smirked. "How rude cousin. No 'How are you'? I guess I shouldn't be one to talk, I was just going to ask you the same as you asked me. Are all the preparations made? The back door's lock broken? The machine in the room across?" Roba knew what the answer would be, but it never hurt to double check. Roba was ready for the preparations to not be ready, and for them to be. If they were, nothing bad would happen. If they weren't, then someone might lose their soul if the plan wasn't able to be carried out. Roba made sure his deck was in order so just in-case someone caught on, there soul would be taken.

Yuuto was driving in his car when he saw a bike in side mirror zooming away. "Hey! Slow down. You don't want to get hit do you?"

“The time machine as we all know is going to be usable tomorrow by them,” Samuel replied on his D-Gazer phone as his voice croaked when he addressed the enemies clearly by calling ‘them’. “I have postponed the construction for some time now by eliminating some of the more threatening members of the team from the equation by tweaking their holiday from the computer and sending a fake message from their boss telling them of their rewards. But I could only postpone their only defense while you strengthened you attack on the legends by each passing day,” he explained confidently in his calm and emotionless manner as a continued vigorously typing while in his conversation with Roba.

Dr Knight has a talent for being a multitasking when he had his thirst for revenge upon the world. Searching through his emails at his staff account when his task was to send the emails to the Interns. He could have easily stopped this from happening but the cruel world would become suspicious on him. “I have told you many times that today is the Interns first day that they won’t be going anywhere in time because the time machine needs a few small adjustments. This is my opportunity to find more information about them. Also the remaining Scientist on the crippled team that is working against you, Dr. Underwood and Dr. Chase will be devising the routine that the Interns will take in time with me so, he will definitely tell them this…I will also tell you that so you will attack the weak spot in his plans…From my secret email address to your email address,” Samuel inform as he began to smirk as his insane grin widened.

‘After many years of preparing, the beginning as begun…The beginning of the end,’

Lynn was enjoying the air rushing past her as she sped along, liking how it blew through her hair and made her feel like at any moment she could grow wings and fly. This was interrupted, however, when she heard someone shouting something that was definitely directed towards her. She became curious. Lynn pressed on the breaks attached to the bike handles and turned around to see someone driving a car. "You're right," she admitted, calling to the shouter. "I should probably slow down. I'm just excited for my first day at work." Looking closer, Lynn could clearly see that it was a male driving the car. "Who are you?" she asked with a friendly smile. "I'm Lynn, and I got the coolest job in the world! Guess what it is."

Lynn then remembered, Lot's of people must know about the time travel device, though, so it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out where I'm heading.

Roba smirked again. "Excellent. I knew I could count on you Samuel." Roba hung up the phone and put it dow. Now that the preparations were complete, he could start working out the very few problems in his master plan. He pulled out a blueprint of the laboratory and a pencil. The blueprint already had plenty of lines drawn on it showing where to go and where to stay clear of. Roba started to redo the lines in specific places. He continued erasing and redrawing lines for several minutes. Then he took one final look at the drawing and smiled maniacally. "Excellent. Now I just need to wait to hear the final update from Samuel.

Yuuto looked at the girl, and without even momentarily thinking they might be going to the same place, he replied. "I don't know, and frankly I'm not that concerned. I just don't want to be late for MY first day at work because I ran someone over. I'm helping out the scientists with that new time travel device. Pretty cool job huh? I bet you wish you had that cool of a job." Yuuto smirked and pressed on the gass pedal easing his car into the speed limit.

As Roba hung up, Samuel gently placed down his D-Gazer in his small isolated Computer Room. He logged off his computer and got up pulling the lever behind him down. Suddenly, one of the walls on the left side from him moved, completely opening. His Computer Room was completely hidden from the rest of his house so that just in case someone sneaks in such as a robber or a curious co-worker, they will never hack into his room and find his secrets. He tapped the metal walls before walking out of his room holding a book.

He entered his small dining room; he walked to the left and placed the book in the only open slot in the bookshelf that is now filled completely with books. Suddenly, the lever clanked up and bookshelf closed snaring the only possible entrance into his secret room. It is clearly impossible for anyone to sneak in and find the truth…

Only he knows which one of the hundred books that is on top of the pressure plate that causes the bookshelf to open and even if a person is bored enough to spend ages trying, they would only actually try if they knew about it in which they didn’t. Only he knows that his D-Gazer out of the twenty mobile phones contains Roba’s number that his caller ID doesn’t have ‘Roba’ on it. Even if a robber succeeded by the one in a millionth time actually gets Roba’s phone number, Samuel always spoke first when Roba called and if Roba knew it wasn’t the person he called, Roba would most likely hang up without giving any plans. Anyone who actually tries to sneak in would waste their time to find... Nothing!

Knowing that nobody would ever find his secrets, the paranoid Scientist exited his house and was heading for his car so that he can drive to the lab

A sleepy Arianna stretched her arms as she awoke, beams of sunlight piercing through her curtain. "Ah! It's today that I have to go to...erm, I don't know what it's called..." she looked around, before placing her hand on her deck and searching out her Gyaku-Gire Panda. "Gyaku-Gire Panda, were is this place, I have no idea were it is..." She frowned hopelessly, while placing her hand on top of the card. She had special gift to be able to communicate with duel spirits, and often would seek advice from her cards. Gyaku-Gire Panda's spirit slowly creeped out, until it stood at full height in her bedroom. "Ah, there you are!" She smiled, and repeated her question to her monster. Gyaku-Gire simply grunted and growled a few times, it would be useless to many, but somehow Arianna managed to interpret it, and, after getting refreshed with a shower and brushing her teeth, she hopped onto her bicycle (which was stylized as a Cycroid) and peddled off to the place that Gyaku-Gire had led her.

Taking in her surroundings as she cycled, she lost her way a few times. Seeing that she was early, she took a rest on a bench, one of many which surrounded a small lake. "Isn't it wonderful, nature is just so magnificent...". She closed her eyes and breathed in the air. Upon opening her eyes again she saw something twinkling in the corner of her eye. Before she could turn her head, a duel spirit had came out of her deck. This was Neko-Mane King. He loved money, and Arianna was fully aware of that, she had a tin full of small change with Neko-Mane King had found for her. "Haha, another good find Neko! Well done!". Many passers-by would have thought that something was quite amiss in her mind, but Arianna didn't mind that, as they couldn't see her duel spirits.

Hopping back on her bike, she peddled to the lab, were she would receive her first instructions on her new job.

As the strange male went on with his rude reply Lynn frowned and thought to herself, There's no need to be so mean. Gosh! I was just trying to have a friendly conversation. Then he began talking about how he was working for the same people she was going to work for, and was about to tell the guy she was an intern too, but he hurried off in his car. Lynn continued looking at the direction the guy went for a long time, trying to hold back her irritation. "What a jerk," she stated aloud, "and he didn't even consider the possibility that we're going to the same place". Shaking her head to clear her mind of the bad thoughts, she took a deep breath. "Don't get worked up about it," she told herself. "Besides, I'm sure the other interns will be nicer than this guy. No need to care about him." Assuring herself that she was calm and in control of herself, Lynn recommenced her pedaling. To entertain herself, Lynn went over in her head the research she had been doing on the Duel Monsters game. Duel Monsters was originally created by the ancient Egyptians more than 5000 years ago..., she began, paying little attention to what was ahead of her as she rode along.

Leo pulled the baseball cap further down his face, ready to sneak out of his beadroom. He slipped on a dark t-shirt and a pair of gloves, sighing in anticipation. Most people get to travel through time. Even fewer people do so while working as a henchman for an evil lunatic trying to capture souls. He clutched his ring. The Milleneum Ring. He couldn't get rid of the thing. Somehow, he had to break free. He didn't know how, but it was forcing him to work for a guy known as Roba. He didn't want to, but he didn't have an option. He slipped his Duel Disk on and snuck out the door.

Dr Chase slowled opened his eyes, and immedately clutched his head in pain. One to many wiskey's the night before left him passed out in his office, a plain room with little personal decorations. He didn't believe in making his work place appealing to the eye, he had no one the impress. His diploma say alone on the wall, and aside from the objects on the desk, was the only thing that distinguished it from a fresh one. He stood up, groaing and grabbed his coat from the floor. I need a cup of tea. He tried to recall what was happening today, and then it hit him. Intern day. What a good day to have a mild hangover. It was going to be a long one, he just hoped none of the interns were particlarly irritating, and that they let him carry out his work in relative peace. I need to rerun the simualtions. Hopefully we can prevent a paradox.

A young lady was already up during the time where others slept. She walked through an empty road with seemingly no other soul around her. Following the lady was a small, almost cute, dragon clad in blue scales and odd black markings. The lady entered a bar which was still seemingly closed, yet she did not care and sat down anyways. After she wasted a few minutes of sitting completely still, the bartender showed up out of nowhere and immediately served the lady a glass of red wine. After the lady finished her drink, the bartender suddenly bowed down and asked for forgiveness. "I apologize for my tardiness, Lady Remi. I shouldn't have kept you waiting." Seeing the man's act, Remi turned around and heads for the door, with her dragon giving the bartender the pay for her drink. Just before leaving the place, Remi looked back towards the bartender. "I don't blame you, Mr. Bartender. I should have informed you that I would be coming earlier than usual today." After saying so, Remi left the place and grabbed one of the umbrellas at the bar's umbrella stand. Acting without any command, Remi's dragon picked up the umbrella and opened it just as the morning sun rises. "Now then, today shall be another wonderful day!"

Norman Underwood stepped out of his house and onto the street, ready for another day at the lab. He intended to break out a box of donuts when he gets there, sketch some ideas in his notebook, edit his deck a tad, then spend until noon perfecting the Time Machine, running scans, making sure everything was running smoothly. From there, he'd run to a restaraunt, grab a bite, and get to work on side projects for around an hour. Then it was back to the time machine until he got off work a five. Same old routine, which he'd been going through for months. He had absolutely no idea that it was Intern day. The only days he remembered were the weekends, which he used avoiding the lab at all costs. It was a chilly morning, and he intended to get to work five minutes early, as he usually did. That is, until he saw a glimmer in the bushes.

Curiosity got the better of him and he stooped over, rummaging through the bushes. He picked up two shining white rectangles. Yugioh cards. The glow faded, revealing two black cards. "Numbers..?" he gasped. Sure enough, the titles read 'Number 7: Lucky Straight', and 'Number 11:Big Eye'. Realizing what a scientific breakthrough this could be, he tapped his arm. Something on it shimmered, then appeared in full sight. A Duel Disk. This was his prototype claoking device, hiding his duel disk. Sure it had bugs, but he was happy with it. He wanted to perfect it, but his other projects kept him so busy, he didn't have enough time. He didn't mind. He kept all his other portable gadgets on his other arm, also using an invisibility shield. He wasn't embarassed of his work, but honestly, it makes for some strange party conversations if somebody sees you wearing a Duel Disk on one arm and some other junk on the other.

Dr. Underwood had his reasons for keeping his stuff with him at all times. While doing research for the Time Machine expirement, he found that almost every major event involved a duel, and he wanted to be prepared. Sure, his deck was valuable, but his other stuff was priceless. He had a shrink ray expirement, his invisibility machine, his master GPS, device that picks most locks, and his most valuable one: a miniature time machine. It was directly connected with the main time machine, but only had enough juice to activate once or twice. He was trying to figure out a simple recipe for the machine's energy, but it was tough. He'd never actually tried using it, because he had this weird fear of Time Traveling. It was the fear of both being stuck in another century forever, and the fact that there was a very high chance that, if he wasn't careful enough, he might upset the space/time continuum. This could create a time paradox. This could also rip apart the very fabric of space and time.

Yuuto arrived at the laboratory making great time. He parked his car, got out, and walked to the lab. Yuuto approached the tall, tainted glass building and knocked on the door. "Hello?" he shouted. "Hello is anyone in here? I know I got here a bit early, but I didn't want to be late for my first day as an intern." Yuuto explained. "My name is Yuuto Diasu." he added in, just for clarification. Yuuto looked at the door, waiting for a reply. Then he took out his deck and looked through it, making sure all his cards were there and to pass the time until the door opened. "I wonder if we'll be dueling at all today." Yuuto thought to himself. He put his deck back in his duel disk and began checking his extra and side decks.

Lynn made a turn at the corner of a street and was now heading straight for the laboratory. "Ha-ha! I'm so excited!" she proclaimed aloud. As her bike wheeled closer and closer to the building she would work in, Lynn could make out a faint shape dwelling in the parking lot. She advanced further forward, and Lynn could now recognize the car from earlier. I guess I shouldn't be all that surprised that he made it here first, she thought as she inspected the tall building before her. After securing her bike in the designated area, Lynn turned around to spot the familiar owner of the car browsing through his Duel Monster cards. "Hey!" Lynn greeted him cheerfully as she walked over to him. "Remember me? You know? The girl you rudely responded to earlier," she asked innocently, hopefully reminding him that he should act his age towards other people. "I happen to work here, too." Lynn's eyes scanned the male's face, and then lost interest and took to inspecting the cards he held in his hand. "Cool cards," she remarked absently.

"What do you-" Yuuto started as he looked up and saw the girl's face. A wave of embarrassment flooded into Yuuto's head and he started to blush. "H-hey. Sorry about how rude I was earlier. Y-you see I was in a rush and...and....and.." Yuuto stuttered. He couldn't believe he hadn't even considered that they might be working together. He could have offered her a ride. They could have become friends. Having a friend at work would make the job A LOT less stressful. Yuuto took a deep breath. "I'm sorry about this morning. My name is Yuuto Diasu. Who are you?" Yuuto says calmly. 'There. My first step towards making my first friend.' Yuuto thought to himself. While thinking this, he put his cards away and extended his hand for a hand shake.

Yuuto was now stammering, feeling embarrassed, and Lynn rolled her eyes. Yes, yes, I know. You're sorry, blah blah blah. When Yuuto extended his hand Lynn stared at it reluctantly. After giving it some thought, however, she returned the handshake. "I guess I can't blame you for the way you acted," she began. "I understand how it's like to be in a rush, too." Lynn gave a friendly grin. "You're lucky I'm forgiving. Anyway, I'm Lynn Mason. It's nice to meet you." Lynn titled her head to look past her co-worker. "The doors aren't open, I presume?" she asked for confirmation even though she already knew the answer. "Ah, well. Them's the breaks."

Lynn decided that she should now strike up a friendly conversation. "So do you play Duel Monsters often?" she inquired

Yuuto put a huge grin on his face. "Of course I play often. I was top of my class in my duel academy. I dropped out for this internship though." Yuuto looked down and saw she had a duel disk. A surge of excitement went through Yuuto. "What about you? Are you any good?" Yuuto asked. 'Hopefully she is. I've been itching for a good duel since I got here.' Yuuto thought to himself. "If you are, maybe we can duel until someone opens the doors. It'd be a great and fun way to pass the time." Yuuto said. Although the tone in his voice more stated 'If you're good, we're dueling no matter what. Yuuto still had the smile on his face, but it was much more toned down to more of a small grin.

The second Yuuto suggested they duel, a grin filled with anticipation formed on Lynn's face. "You're good? Cool. Me? Oh, I'm a decent duelist. I mostly play for fun, and I'm always up to a good challenge." Lynn reached into her jeans pocket and pulled out a small, rectangular case. She opened it and pulled out a Duel Monsters deck. "This'll be fun," she said, placing the deck into the appropriate slot in her Duel Disk. It lit up, signifying that it was ready for use. "May the best duelist win," she told Yuuto. This time, it was she who held out her hand for a handshake. Hopefully my fellow duelist will put up a fight, Lynn hoped. However, with one glance at Yuuto's face she knew that this battle wouldn't be boring.

Yuuto shook his fellow duelists hand and activated his duel disk. "May the best duelist win." he said with a smirk. He drew five cards. "I'll go first." Yuuto said as he drew a sixth card. He added the card to his hand, then looked at the cards he had. He smiled and picked up a monster card. "I'll start things off by summoning my Silent Swordsman LV 0 in attack mode." A small boy in a blue trench coat appeared. He had a purple lightning bolt under his left eye and wore a helmet with two crossed blades on it. In his white gloved hands was a sword twice his size. "Next I'll set two cards and end my turn." Yuuto put his index finger toward Lynn signifying her turn. Then he surveyed the field happily.

Lynn nodded to her opponent, drawing five cards form her respective deck and then drawing a sixth for the Draw Phase. She inspected her hand and smiled with satisfaction. "I'll start off the turn by placing a monster card in defense position on the field." Lynn took the Penguin Soldier in her hand and gracefully placed it into a monster card zone. The card appeared enlarged and face down on the field. "To conclude my turn I'll place two cards face down in the spell and trap card zone." The two cards Lynn chose to place were Trap Stun and Solemn Wishes. Like the hidden Penguin Soldier, her two traps appeared on the field. I'll wait to place my attack-stopping trap card, Lynn thought as she gripped her Negate Attack in her other hand. Can't have him destroying it. Looking at what she had done this turn, Lynn smiled in approval. "I end my turn. Your move," she declared.

"My turn. Draw!" Yuuto drew a card from his deck and added it to his hand. He smiled. "YES!" he exclaimed. "Since it's my standby-phase, My Swordsman gains 500 attack points and a level (1000-->1500)." The swordsman and his sword both grew a little bit. "Now, I bring out his comrade. The Silent Magician (1000,1000)!" Another boy came out of the ground. This one wearing a red robe and and with blue hair covering one eye. He had a red hat and wore gray clothes under his robe. "Now I enter my battle phase. Silent Swordsman, attack her facedown card." The warrior ran and charged himself at the card which flipped over.

Lynn was hoping that Yuuto would be foolish enough to attack her monster. "Sucks to be you," she called from across the field. "What your Silent Swordsman is attacking is a little thing I like to call... Penguin Soldier!" Lynn flipped her monster face-up and the warrior penguin creature burst out of its card. "Penguin Soldier's flip effect is that when it is flipped it returns up to two monsters on the field to its owner's hand! As you probably already know, I'm planning on sending EXACTLY two monsters to the hand, and you know very well which ones."

Penguin Soldier shattered to pieces as the Silent Swordsman struck, and then Yuuto's two monsters were returned to his hand. "Continue your move."

Yuuto looked astonished at her. "Nice move. I didn't see anything like that coming." Yuuto looked at his hand for a little, then took out a spell card. "I activate Gold Sarcophagus." A golden box floats up out of the ground and it's top opens. a card floats into it and the lid shuts. "This card lets me put one card from my deck into this sarcophagus so that I can add it into my hand in two turns." The box disappears. "Now it's your move." Yuuto says. 'That was one hell of a move. Maybe I'm underestimating this girl.' Yuuto thinks to himself. Then he surveys the field and his hand, thinking of his next move.
